Did the scrimmage get moved to Saturday. According to the PA News it will start at around a 11am at Central's campus Saturday.

I'll put a pic of HJ's new helmet and jersey up tomorrow.

Real strange game, no band, very few fans and two teams finding out they were playing each other the same day of the game.

I was at that 96 game, Corey Prosperie was playing QB for the Indians. I remember how tough BC's Wing T was that year. Sometimes I couldn't figure out who had the ball from the stands.

There are plenty but the PN-G/Waller game from a few years back was tough. PN-G rallied to take the lead only to see Waller score with a few seconds left on a 4th down QB sneak at the 1. PN-G finished the year 10-2, losing to WO-Stark 21-20 and Waller 27-26.

Did he really leave this time, he usually says that every year.

Picked up HJ's new helmet and jersey yesterday, I'll try to post pics soon.

It was a win win situation, heckuva lick, looked great with the helmet flying off, but most importantly the Silsbee player bounced back up OK.

So did Silsbee score the only TD, that's all that happened when I left at 8:30pm. Also I got a great shot of Mosley's lick on the receiver.

Just walked in from HJ/Kelly scrimmage, it was still going on. Here's my take on what I saw. Kelly's D looked solid, HJ couldn't move the ball at all. There were two passes picked off by Kelly that would've gone for touchdowns, but they weren't allowed due to being a controlled scrimmage. On the other side Kelly moved the ball at will, at least the 1st team. Jacobie Wilson scored a long touchdown, but it was called back. A few plays later Fazio hit Donnie Corona while scrambling for a 50+ yard gain. Corona was knocked out at the four, from there Wilson took it in. 7-0 Dogs when I left.

Kelly is good but not deep.

HJ has a lot of work to do, but hey that's what scrimmages are for.

I love covering 1A games, people always remember you there and are always thankful for the coverager. Last year I shot two High Island games, homecoming against Evadale and later against Hull-Daisetta. Only thing about High Island is you better bring your OFF!

GFX at 10, I had it for the early but was only able to mention it. They took time from me right before I went on. It's hard right now for me to get a vo/sot with it considering I get less than 3 minutes and have HS football, the PGA, etc. But trust me guys I'm trying, thanks for the email today.

Ian Symonette went to Miami.

I think all the bigger schools will. Now all we need is turf. Almost all the East Texas schools have it.

Rumor is PN-G is getting a new scoreboard with a screen, I guuess they heard about LC-M

If I remember right the scoreboard they have now is only a couple of years old, but it did receive hurricane damage. Maybe insurance money is helping out.

2006 Notes

QB Noonan and WR Farmer will be counted on to wash away the disappointment of the Panthers not returning to the Div. I titel game. Farmer is as good as any public school players at the position and is the next college recruit for coach Kirk. Farmer looks to hook up often with the next recruit in line, QB Noonan, who is a member of this year's Top 100 Texas Juniors.
