Just trying to follow your logic of how New Waverly is "definitely" better if HJ and them are evenly matched and Sabine played HJ 2 close games at their place. Just trying to figure out what makes them better?

New Waverly definetly the better team. I'll put you guys ahead of Kountze though. Who did you see New Waverly play? So in your opinion New Waverly is better than HJ?

I wanted to the thank Hj folks for a well run organized tourney. I talked to folks from just about every team there and they were very nice. We even had some of them rooting for us out of towners on Saturday. Been a while since Sabine left a tourney without some team hardware but I think the intensity and competition will help Sabine down the road in the 2A playoffs. Good luck to all the teams the rest of the season! PS Anyone that saw Sabine play and have seen Kountz or New Waverly let me know how you think we stack up with them.

I assume you are from HJ? Looking forward to seeing y'all this year. Last time I saw HJ was couple years ago at state tourney.

2A Sabine 68 4A Hallsville 66 OT Sabine (7-0) had a horrendous shooting night but dug down and pulled it out against a good 4A Hallsville team that beat TABC #18 Whitehouse last week. We needed a good game after the previous 6 blowouts but this one was too close lol

Gladewater Sabine 72 Clarksville 33 Kind of out of south east but Sabine is in the same region this year with the 2a's from the south.

They are correct we are from outside of Kilgore. I forget there is a Sabine Pass. I am not a player. I coach their summer/fall team and have a son that plays for Sabine. I don't think we have ever played a tourney this far south. Tournament sounds like a challenge and a lot of fun. My understanding is the tourney will be pool play and then a bracket which is great since the kids get to play a lot of games.

Thanks for the info. I know about HJ, East Chambers, Aransas Pass and Sabine. I saw a thread about Lumberton but how about the others (Legacy, WO Stark and Kingwood)? What size schools are they and how good are they?

I am new to the board and just wondering if anyone knows all the teams playing in the HJ basketball tourney? Sabine is coming down to play in it and I am not real familiar with the area and all the teams. Thanks
