I was going to guess about 155 but from the looks of it, it could certainly be larger. -
Testy testy. There are no facts to get straight. Go back and read. I did not "accuse" you of anything. I disagreed with you. That is what forums are about. You made the statement "You can't judge someone on how they do in little league you half to start judgeing them when there on varsity level". I said I judged a kid at 9 years old and I was correct. I think you can do it with some others as well. You said that it can only be done on the varsity level. I disagree and gave you an example why. That is not an accusation, it is a different opinion.

I think KLVI needs to do an All-Nederland team since that is the ony team they broadcast.

I think you have about as much tact as a bull elephant trying to walk through a china shop. Great first post, it really brings out your style which means you are a nut. You are either Bellanger himself, a family member or a friend. As far as everyone knowing about that interception, heck yeah, everyone knows that play. It was in all the papers. I think the New York Times even ran an article on it. I think the Dave Campbell's Texas High School Football magazine is running a feature story in next year's issue: "Bellanger To Double Up On Mosley". Mosley had one of the great years in history in the Golden Triangle area for high school football. Whatever someone else does in the future or has done in the past has no bearing on that. I guess Little Joe Washington from Lincoln High School in Port Arthur was overrated because Jamaal Charles later broke his city record. The great years for Little Joe at Oklahoma and then the NFL mean nothing because someone else got more yards later, right? I hope that Bellanger (whoever he is) has a great year. Maybe he can set records in his own right. That would be great. Coming in here however and slamming another player is not exactly the way to present your case. Please tell me that you are not a high school (or junior high) graduate.

Pujols Says MVP Should Be On Playoff Team

When you are a popular professional player making millions of dollars a year, I don't think you have much room to whine about anything. -
Preseason All Southeast Texas Team Nominations
tvc184 replied to MIF04's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Gee, the Golden Triangle media didn't put a lot of time in on a high school team that is not from the Golden Triangle. Go figure. They also did not spend any time on LaMarque so I guess we slighted them also. I wonder how much time the media around Dayton and Liberty spent on Nederland and WO-S? Dayton won the district so I guess you believe that they should be the talk of the town around Beaumont. Well it isn't going to happen, sorry. If Nederland wins district next year, I am not going to be shocked if the Bulldogs are not the talk of the town in Dayton. If Dayton has a bulletin board, I doubt they will be flapping ;their gums (or keyboards) about the GT next year. -

Is Dayton in a Golden Triangle district now? I haven't heard anything about them in a couple of years. Get real JS. Dayton has been covered very well, especially considering the limited number of Dayton people on these boards. -
Pujols Says MVP Should Be On Playoff Team
tvc184 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
This is the yearly debate of the meaning of MVP and it is from high schools to the pros. What does MVP mean? Does it really mean the most "valuable" player or does it mean the player that performed the best? If you stick by the actual title Most "Valuable" Player, then I think the player should be on a playoff team. If you are the best player in the league but your team ends up in last place, how valuable were you? Your team could not have gotten last place without you? That is where awards such as offensive or defensive player of the year should be given. It doesn't matter where your team ended, you were still the most effective player at your skill. What has happened is that the MVP has become synonymous with best player not the most valuable player. If they really want the award to be the best player, why don't they title it as such? -

I have a 3 day hunt planned in January in Sabinal, TX on a bow only ranch. I have a friend that has gone there for the last 4 years and has scored each time with at least a 135+ point buck. I have my fingers crossed.

And I was worried about PN-G's returning letterman and starters. I guess I can stop sweating it!

Ouch! Well, it was a good game.

I was a coach on a minor (Texas) league team for Nederland South a few (many?) years ago and we drafted a 9 year old little runt of a kid. We saw him throw some pitches in tryouts and said this kid is awesome for a 9 year old. You could see that he was not just fast for his age but accurate. When we moved on to Little League the next year and got lucky and drafted him again. We kept him on the team for three more years until he moved on to Babe Ruth. This kid that we thought was special at 9 years old went on to become the all time strikeout leader at Lamar University from the early 90's until it was broken this year by another Nederland player. Obviously he could have injured his arm before high school, he could have quit or various other problems. There is certainly no guarantee in life on anything. If you don't think that we saw that kind of talent in this kid at 9 years old then you are wrong. Would he continue to develop it and not have something stop his career? There was no way to know but we could see that he had the potential when he was playing minor league ball about 13 years before he became the record holder at Lamar. So yes, there is obviously a lot of difference from a little leaguer and a high school player. Duhhh!! If you don't think that talent can be recognized at an early age, you are wrong. Anyone remember the tapes of Tiger Woods hitting golf balls on the Tonight Show when he was about 4 years old? I wonder if he ever went on to do anything.....
