He always took the time to speak with me, a nobody who wanted to be a somebody. Once after a tough playoff loss late in his career he looked at me and said "Coach, you win some and you lose some, and tonight we lost". RIP my good friend!

The UIL enrollment numbers were released today.

I have no hate for BC, heck Josh Smalley is a close friend of mine, a great coach and even better person. I just know why Liberty, HJ, and BC all "opted up". I know that he (Josh Smalley) didn't make the decision, but the district did. Good Luck to BC tonight, but money is on Navasota (Relax, I didn't bet on them).

Good to see a Barbay and George Taylor on Trey Allens staff.
-
UMMM...not really because the UIL put: West Orange, Silsbee, Hamshire-Fannett, Jasper, Shepherd, and Tarkington in front of you and you opted up. Sorry, just the truth.

Hardin vs Hitchcock Friday Nov 21 at La Porte - Area Round
Old Bald Man replied to kirkwood29's topic in High School Football
I'm sorry it was not a State Championship 7 on 7, it was a Semi Finals loss to Burnet 27-21. They did beat Canyon Lake 28-21 and West Orange 13-7. This was in 2010 -
Hardin vs Hitchcock Friday Nov 21 at La Porte - Area Round

I hope Chad Taylor and Crew can pull it off, going to be rooting for him and the Hornets of Hardin! Hopefully they can replace the State Championship banner of 7-on-7, with a UIL State Championship trophy. -
I'm taking Nasty Soda in this one. I like and know both coaches, but giving the edge to Nasty Soda due to their schedule.
-
Do any teams in this district have a chance to win a game in round 1? Only if you host and only if you get Chapel Hill, all the others will be IN TROUBLE!
-
Serious Question: Would it be wrong if the next time I see Peevy I ask him what time he has? Or if we let him be the "all time" time keeper so we don't go over?

Some people will just always land "jelly side up"...until they dont!

Huffman (35) @ Little Cypress-Mauriceville (28) - FINAL
Old Bald Man replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Huffman really kept them off balance! -
"Time will tell" says Flavor Flav.....
-
High scoring game, Huffman with the upset...just watch.
-
Historically the Falcons have played well at LCM, correct?
-
Barring something odd happening that district is set ahs/ns div 1 sc/king div 2 This is Correct!
-
I'm going to take Huffman. Its a better match up for the Falcons this week.
-
Again, serve my crow with feathers and all!
-
Ok, I had my Crow (feathers and ALL). I really thought that Huffman would beat Lumberton, I WAS WRONG...there I said it, don't tell my wife! This week I have: Huffman over Vidor (BIG bounce back game for the Birds) Bridge City over HJ (Smalley has them rolling on Cow Bayou) LCM over Livingston (The Lions started well,.....slipped, ...... farted ...and fell) Lumberton over Liberty (The L-Train stays on track)

Coach Taylor does a great job doing something many don't face all year. They are VERY hard to prepare for, they can control the pace of the game, They limit your possessions, and they test your physicality. Come playoff time those are some good traits to have!

Huffman at Lumberton Predictions
Old Bald Man replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
Dirty Birds by 28+, The L-Train is "off the tracks". -
Going with the Ole' Home of the Western Sizzler and Oil pump, (IYKYK). Zach Bass with his biggest upset of his career to this point.
-
Livingston over Liberty HJ over LCM at home (upset) BC over Vidor Huffman over Lumberton
-
Bridge City by as many as they want, Smalley is not the type to "run it up", but Vidor can't stop them either.
