  1. Reading those suggestions I posted in response will give you the insight your looking for to be more knowledgeable about the game, and you won’t have these old wolves chasing you based on the premise of your content. I worked for those agencies that I suggested. You have the want too, now go find your how too! I remember being green and picked apart, it’ll tear you down. Good luck young man.
  2. Oh, we would have to go back some here. Late 90’s “The Austin-American Statesman”. The “DCRP” in Dallas. I do not recommend anyone choose politics over sports. The “Texas Scouts Association” years ago. Nowadays Dan Jenkins left a good pipeline at the UT MCC and I rely on many of their alumni in my hobby time. I keep my nose in the “Prep Baseball Report”. There is a young man that played out of Tulane “shooter hunt”. He is the VP of scouting and I enjoy the communication and his eye on the talent while articulating to the viewer’s. He is an old soul for a young man and usually those areas of coverage are not as controversially discussed. SETX is a very passionate forum. It’s grown exponentially from many years ago of following the area. Many true and loyal fans, but much back and forth. I think you will enjoy the Prep Report.
  3. We need a big win today
  4. It has been an interesting shake-up in SETX coaching over the past few weeks. The Dallas Metropolitan and Central Texas areas are also seeing some big names leave their programs. I was not surprised to see the Buna position open after a storied career from Kevin Terrier. He has been around that program for decades and has done a magnificent job. I was in meetings yesterday evening and just grabbed my coffee this morning while preparing to watch our Longhorns in Arkansas. I noticed we are hosting Lamar this week and felt I needed to search for this topic. This coaching carousel should be exciting. Buna has positioned its program as a top landing spot for many around the state. It looks like they are growing in numbers, and demographics suggest this could be a significant transfer school in the coming years. I've been following the team as part of my THB Coverage off and on since their state run back in the early 2000s. They have had many district titles since that time and have impressively maintained a winning culture throughout many reclassifications, realignments, pandemics, and so forth. Do we know the candidates who have applied for this position besides the already named coaches? In fun, I am going to predict that there are a lot of candidates, but that the job goes to the assistant, Clark. If I remember correctly, and the comments on this thread hold, he was part of Buna's state-run and has been there throughout Terrier's tenure. There is one thing I see year in and year out, which is that the staff that can sustain and grow a culture are the programs that make it to Austin. Realistically, there is not much instruction occurring throughout the season in retrospect, to talented players turning into winning coaches. At smaller schools, most players are involved in other sports, making it all hands-on deck with the staff, and leaving little time to focus on just a specific program sport throughout the off-season. Because of this, having someone who is embedded in the community, is in their prime years, helped build a winning culture, was deemed knowledgeable and credible enough to serve as the assistant for a coach who eclipsed 300 wins at a program, and has been around winning baseball, in my mind, is the right fit. It seems Clark should be chomping at the bit if he stayed that long. When looking for a coach, it's attractive to have someone more concerned about the town they are representing. It seems that this is the case with the assistant if he has remained steadfast in waiting for this position. I think programs tend to take off when the right successor is in place. It seems like Clark is the right piece. Well done by Terrier preparing to leave the program in proper hands if he lands the job. I am sure there will be some hats thrown on the table in the polka town. Good luck to this program.
