FINAL — Silsbee 39 at Bridge City 0 — Discussion
CavemanFootballJunkie replied to SETXsports's topic in High School Football
judging by that logic where are all the offers for Jefferson, Pirtle, Menard, Fontenot. Local stuff has little to no meaning when it comes to college offers. My son in law works in recruiting and it's mostly based off film and getting that film to colleges early. Camps are usually a waste of time. -
Lumberton vs Bridge City

I really don't know. I don't have kids in school anymore but there have been alot of complaints from adults the past few years. Probably not many of them on here. BC has their work cut out for them this year. -

BC ran the same crap plays last year but had Mungy to bail them out. BC still has great athletes but not the caliber of Mungy. The offense needs to adjust to what they have now. BC basically has a decent running back and 2 good linebackers. Their receivers are athletic but haven't been able to catch. I think it's both actually. -

One 17 year old kid can't win the entire game for BC. Looks like the typical jealous haters. A kid from a small school makes a name or himself and now everyone is an expert. Is that because so many of the keyboard warriors have a long list of D1 offers, or even played college ball? At the end of the day, they are still HS kids. -

Breeden has been injured and playing with a cast. There are 10 other kids out there. -

#5 has a D3 offer I think but he an #10 have always been playmakers. Every team has either ran away from #10 or double or triple teamed him only to run right into #5. That's what makes them an awesome duo, block one you run into the other. -

BC can't keep running the same tired plays over and over again and expect it to all of the sudden work. They have the athletes but they need better play calling and a new OC. They have kids that play defense that can play offense as well but won't use them. I like to think they will work it out this week, but I said that last week too. -
If BC doesn't at least try to fix the offense or the offense terrible play calling, the season won't improve.

West Orange Stark vs Bridge City

lol not a lot of intel, I just work with some parents over there. Yes, the coaches will need to do some adjusting but judging by past seasons and past games that probably won't happen. -

I was merely stating facts and also stating what an outstanding team that WOS has. Not once making any excuses. I'm not for anyone but simply a fan of SETX football so you can save your condescendence for someone else. -

WOS will take this one and pretty much everyone else they play. They are a very good team. BC had talent but seems like half the team is injured. #4 out for the season, #3 out for this game for sure, D lineman is out, #10 not 100%, and I'm told another kid broke his collarbone yesterday in practice. Special teams for BC needs A LOT of work and the offense play calling has been a joke. They have quite a few on the team that are inexperienced to WOS' experienced team. -
Bayou Bowl, Orangefield at Bridge City

Going with BC but should be a good game. -
Heard Breeden's injury isn't major and could be back but just hearsay. That kid loves to play it will be hard to keep him off the field. I don't know that I would return if I was in his position though. Sucks for BC's season.

When does practice start in SETX
CavemanFootballJunkie replied to Boogy1000's topic in High School Football
Many of the schools in the Golden Triangle do not have the funds or the space for an indoor facility, especially the smaller school districts. -
Looks like anything is possible with this district. Quite a few teams lost key players in the 26 graduating class. But..... BC returns some key defensive players and their QB, LCM returning a QB and always has size, Lumberton returning their QB and a RB and always has some size, I'm not as familiar with Vidor but if they run the Slot T correctly it's hard to defend, Livingston has had great athletes in the past but not great coaching from what I am told, Huffman is always a well disciplined team. I don't really know much about the Liberty team. Looking forward to this football season.

Woodville’s Babin picks another offer
CavemanFootballJunkie replied to ETEXAG's topic in High School Football
Congrats!!! Recruiters were all over the place the last 2 weeks in SETX. BC and PAM looked like a revolving door with college coaches. Looks like the BC just picked up his 25th offer(?) and a couple of the PAM kids picked up quite a few too ( not sure on the number). I've lost track but SETX is loaded with talent. It's awesome to see the kids in this area getting the attention they deserve. -
