is Nederland JV playing tonight for sure? I had heard they might not because the LCM field isn't ready so Varsity might play here....

Sounds like someone has heard enough of the excuses. This is a good group of kid's. I did not think pitching would have let them down. I heard that a cancer on the team did not play this year and they should be better without him. I didn't believe it when I heard it and I definately don't believe it now. One kid don't always make a team but this kid is a difference-maker. There's always next year.

Not sure who you are talking about, but I disagree that just one kid could be a difference-maker. Our team had ALOT of errors on Saturday, and to me thats the reason we lost.  Yes there is always next year and I hope that we go farther next year. These boys are all great baseball players and I look forward to seeing them play together in the future.

I will weigh in briefly with a different perspective on the bracket issue as the opposing coach (MS).  The tournament ran very late on Friday night and the Nederland boys had to leave with new host families then turn around and play the early game on Saturday.  Ramoin was lights out on Friday night but couldn't have had his best stuff the next morning.  I definitely thought they were tired and it was unfortunate that possibly the two strongest teams had to meet under those conditions.  I got to meet a few of the players like White, Feltman, Mendoza, Babino and Chandler.  They are great ball players and first class kids as well.  That team could certainly win it all next year.

That was very nice to say! Your ball club is a very strong one. We wish you nothing but the best of luck in Utah!!!!

Just wanted to say congratulations on a tremendous run through the all star tournaments to the PNG 13's. This team had a great group of both kids and coaches, they should be proud of their accomplishments this year even though they came up just short of the ultimate goal. An outstanding group of ball players to say the least, the future is really bright for PNG baseball. Nice Job guys, you represented our area well and made us proud.

The game was a VERY good game today.... Wish it could have ended differently, but I agree these guys did something not many thought they could do... They made the playoffs & they got past the first round. Seeing the guys after the game and seeing the upset in their eyes, I know they do have heart. As a parent it hurts to see your kid hurt inside. Magnolia was a good team, but they were very beatable, but it just wasn't our time to win..... Things happen for a reason, and I have so much enjoyed FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!! Good job to all of the guys and better luck next year!

like i said these guys are playing their a$$ off and get NO RESPECT!!!! that's just not right. I sit in front of a man at the home game and I hear him complain sooooo much about our DEFENSE and I wait and wait on him to say a specific #, because when he says a # I will UNLEASH on him.... these guys are doing what they can do with their sizes, and all I can say is they DID make the PLAYOFFS this year. that's more than I can say about last years team!!!!!

Nederland has no defense, no heart to play in a big game. Nederland will loss this game big 42-7

I am not sure why everyone keeps saying Nederland has NO DEFENSE, well I know there are 11 guys out there working their butts off at practices and at the games. They get NO respect. These guys aren't really very big which means they have to work that much harder. Maybe you might think they have no heart, but i know at least one that plays with all heart. He loves the game and he might not be the biggest mofo out there, but he plays his best and does what they tell him to do with no complaints.  He is just happy to be a BULLDOG!

I'm not going to put down any numbers now that I've seen both teams play. This could be anyone's ballgame. I just have a hard time seeing Nederland break into the 40's against our defense. Not saying it can't be done, I just don't see it based on what I've seen so far. If our defense plays to full potential, you won't run up the score. That is all I'm saying.

And, sorry James, but I don't see how Nederland's defense could hold anyone to 14 points. If we get held to 14, it will be because we fumble it and beat ourselves. Nederland's defensive line looked horrible against Livingston. I don't see that same line containing Reynolds. At all.
