  1. I starting to think that every team in this district has a chance to make the playoffs. Does anyone agree with me?

I agree with you. It appears that each team in the GT has made some good changes. I haven't heard much about Livingston, but 20-4A will be a very tough district this year. Whoever makes this playoffs will be battle tested and have a lot to be proud of.

  2. As far as Memorials pregame ritual went, I talked to one of their coaches that told me they actually practiced that singing and dancing around instead of stretching.  He also told me several of the players have approached him and asked what does all this have to do with us wining football games ????

Not a darn thing.  Now, I liked how the freshmen and j.v.ers ran off the field but all that pregame nonesense was just that.  I guess Xbox Kenny is trying to do a PA 'Haka' dance like Euless Trinity.....

LOL! In the words of Larry the Cable Guy, "Now that's funny I don't care who you are!"

  4. Cougars, TC knot up in scrimmage

TEXAS CITY – Crosby’s football team beat the weather and tied Texas City in a football scrimmage Friday night. While the lightning strikes that caused postponement of scrimmages for the Baytown and Barbers Hill teams didn’t affect Texas City, Cougar quarterback Dominic Merka did. He passed for two touchdowns, one an eight-yarder to Forrest Tyler and the other a 55-yard catch-and-run effort by M.J. Mathis. Texas City scored twice against Crosby’s starters. “I saw some good things and a bunch of stuff to work on,†Crosby head coach Kevin Flanigan said. “I thought our defense played well and M.J. Mathis had a real good night. I think he caught 10 passes.†Receiver Paul Erwin, tackle Michael Mangum, linebacker Anthony Nelson and defensive back Donnie Stark also impressed the coach. The Cougars open the season against Ennis in Waco next Saturday night at 7 p.m.

    Viverette, Stork highlight BH work

PASADENA – Caleb Stork scored on a 35-yard pass from teammate Matthew Viverette to highlight Barbers Hill’s final preseason scrimmage. The Eagles’ first-teamers ran 30 plays against their counterparts from Pasadena Memorial and each team scored once. “I thought we had a good effort,†coach Don Price said. “We made some progress in a lot of areas. I thought our O-line played a little better this week. Defensively, our D-line was a lot better.†Air temperature was close to 100 degrees when the two varsities squared off for their hour-long scrimmage at 3 p.m. and the field temperature was well over that on the artificial turf playing surface at Veterans Stadium. “It was pretty warm at 3’oclock,†Price said. “I was pleased with the kids’ conditioning. I don’t think it (the heat) was an issue. Barbers Hill opens its season next Friday night at Port Neches-Groves at 7 p.m.

  6. I made the trip over to Port Neches to check out this scrimmage.  I'm not a "PN-G fan", but I have watched a few PN-G games in the past and this team really looks good. Doty, DeRon and Harmon are the real deal.  The first team defense didn't look too bad either. The secondary still needs some work IMO. It's amazing how far Faircloth & his staff has brought this team in such a short time.

20-4A is going to be one of the toughest districts in the state this year and the 4 teams that survive to make the playoffs are going to have a lot to be proud of.

  7. According to Channel thirteen while digging into the coaches situation KISD found this.

Man think Morton Ranch may have a new principle anytime soon after all of this?

The former principal left at the end of the school year.  The new principal is getting his feet wet and is walking into a hornets nest.

    Whats the latest?

So far, nothing new has been released, except for all of the speculation by bloggers on Chron.com
