It was a chippy game from the start. Helmet to helmet hits all that. The Bronws had a sizable lead.. No way were the Steelers going to come back & win that game with seconds left. They, the steelers should have been handing the ball off to run out the clock. The browns should have taken their starters out of the game. The steelers QB drops back Myles Garrett sacks him. While they were on the ground the qb kicks him in the boys and tries to take barrettes helmet off. He started.it . That was bush league on the QBs part. All the steelers linemen are pushing Garrett back and the qb is still running up to Garrett. That QB is stupid and bush league. He should be suspended for 3 games as well. That QB played a sorry game and then showed the world what a knuckle head he is. Clown.

As soon as I texted that Jack Yates was running away with it the game changed and Morton Ranch started getting back into it. MR was making a lot of silly turnovers and JY has a deep and experienced back court. Yates was up by 15 at one point. In the 3rd quarter MR had regained their composure and started making a game of it. MR has a lot of good guards as well, led by LJ Cryer, but Yates has the edge because they have 3 or 4 seniors in the backcourt. The big guys for both teams? Eddy Lampkins for MR is fat and out of shape. but at the high school level being 6'10" 300 + lbs goes a long ways. I said a lot of the same things about Kendrick Perkins in HS and he went of to play a dozen + years in the NBA. Yates was getting that run and press going and MR was trying to run with them. If they had kept that pace they would have gotten blown out. Batt, the 6'10" post for Yates was a none factor. He is not that good. They got a 6'8" in. guy who didn't suit up. It will be hard for a 4A team in this region to keep Yates from going back the SA. But, the season is young still. 45/ê

Yates is about to run Morton Ranch out of the gym.

Yates v Morton Ranch starts right about sunset for all those precise sabbatarians out there who also follow HS basketball, like myself. It is also < 10 mi away. Hopefully that Yates game on the 30th is streamed somewhere. I doubt it though.

Yates @ Morton Ranch on Nov 16th should be a good game.

I expected to see Silsbee at or near # 8. I really did.

I've experienced a fair share of lean Silsbee basketball seasons. Back in the day it seemed like winning it all was the impossible dream. Now there is hope. It happened twice. Silsbee won back to back state championships. That means it can happen again.

HISD is in disarray. Having a high school basketball team rise up to national prominence is seen as a positive by most administrators in that district. Most of the other schools have no choice but to go along.

This is the 2nd time I've heard about this in the last 2 weeks. I heard it first from this young adventist pastor who posts a lot of stuff on youtube. I respect this guy's opinion. He always does good research whether it is the Bible, history, or current events. He puts out a daily video at noon every day. The caption on one of his resent video lectures was mandatory veganism.

I've mentioned this story once before, something I saw. There was this black teen about 18 years, being accompanied by this older white lady. She looked and dressed like a professional of some sort. I work in a driver license office. She told me she was.a principal at a high school in the cy fair isd area and the guy was a football player for the school. She was helping him get an ID card so that he could go to a University in the SE, I think it was Missouri. I guess the kid was a good football player. He & I got to talking and I mentioned I was from Silsbee. That caught his interest because he told me he was really from Orange and that a season or so before he played for WOS. I asked him how he got from WOS to a school out in the Cypress area. He said he moved to the Houston area to live with his dad. Maybe that was true. More than likely he was recruited and transferred to play football for some high school in the cypress area. This indicates they can pipeline a student athlete from the small schools to anywhere they want him or her to go, all the way to a university. I wasn't totally surprised by this. I kind of figured it was happening all along.
