Yeah some of that goes on too i believe. I would love to run the offense that vanderbuilt was running. Alot of options with that style of play. i still think the slot t can have a great passing game attached to it, but would involve having teams spread out (similar to what laporte runs, not sure if you want to call that a slot t or more so a west coast style scheme)

I can agree with that. I wish we were more open offensively, i love the slot t, but i also wish we could spread the ball out, and run multiple sets, and ive seen the freshman group take shotgun snaps pregame with the freshman offense.. so maybe thats in the plan? idk if it was for scout team stuff, or working on it for themselves, but it was a nice changeup, and it looked really good they run slot t during the games, but part of me thinks theyll break that out sometime this year and mix up the offense by running shotgun, and slot t in the same game

Nah im not saying that at all, but thereβs rarely times where we have athletes across the field at every position, atleast from my recollection.. I got into vidor football hardcore Montanas junior year, and thats as far back as my memory goes with that lol Could coaching be better? Yeah sure, it can always be better, but to say both of those coaches are bad coaches is a stretch to me.

And ur an expert on coaching football? If you dont have TALENT it doesnt matter how good of a coach you are, coaching can only do so much, at the end of the day its about the athletes on the field. Plain and simple. Great coaches can look mediocre if they have no talent, and bad coaching can look decent with good talent. The players are the deciding factor in it all. Its literally that simple. This is highschool sports, you dont get to handpick kids from thousands of the best athletes around the country. Some years you got the horses; some you dont, and coaching can only cover up so much. At the end of the day it reverts back to what ive said before, some years you have it, some you dont, and this year is no different.

Crazy the upheaval over this, people gotta understand, new HC, some players quitting, when a guy like jeff leaves there is gonna be turnover and change. Just from a cultural standpoint. Jeff is a great dude, and is hard to replace, record aside, what he has done for the program and the kids. I definitely think Dubois can get it done, and build a consistent program, but cannot bet the house on the first year or two. Give Dubois a chance with the kids coming up and let him work. As ive said before, a great class coming up, if you think the issue lies with the offense, go watch a thursday game and see the difference. Youll be pleasantly surprised at how well the offense is run when you have the kids to do it. Sometimes some groups just dont have the athletes, or the numbers. The Slot T is not a simple offense to run even tho it looks like it. Offensive line is the cog that runs it, and its extremely complex in the trenches with blocking schemes based on defensive alignment. Something as little as a poor first step by a pulling guard is enough to completely blow a play up. Not the end of the world. Vidor is not, and never has been a power house, so the idea we should dominate these teams year in and year out is questionable at best. Some years are good, some years are not.

Dont think vidor will fair much better this upcoming week⦠huffman seems to have a good squad? -
Gonna go with HF in a nail biter. Silsbee defense will keep them in this game. Just think HF has to many weapons in the long run

Alot of unhappy people in vidor it seems Just a down year guys, dont jump ship. Itll get rolling. It isnt going to be great every year. All programs have ups and downs, unless your carthage, north shore, duncanville, or the teams in 9-4AD1 lol got some good athletes coming through the system Cant blame the offensive scheme tho. The freshman group is running the same thing and is absolutely dominating teams. Just keep supporting the kids, and program, and let the cards fall how they may.
