    AP is represented well.

Yes they are very well represented, and very easily could have won this district had Landon Corbitt, RB for Anahuac  had played in the game against OF. He is what you call an MVP. You can not win games without him and he showed that in his absence. At the same time, EC could not have won many games without Perrault. As for OF, it’s hard to say because they had some talent at RB

. Congratulations to both MVP kids. You deserve it or you would not have gotten it.

I think that both of these MVP were great candidates. Perrault carried EC as far as he could. He won or put them in position to win at least 6 games alone. The Dischler kid did the unthinkable of gaining over 2000 yards which was exceptional. I thought the Dischler get may have had an advantage because he played an exceptional game offensively and defensively against EC. It’s very rare that a player from a 3rd place team wins an award of this kind. To be honest, Corbett of Anahuac could have shared this award as well. A healthy Cobitt against OF would have been a win for Anahuac. Either of these kids deserved this award and honor. Proud of Perrault stepping up and carrying those Bucs. The real coach for encouraging and motivating Perrault will never receive any recognition for him taking over this team and leading them the way he did. Congratulations to both MVPs

Sorry but the co-mvp thing is weak.  There was one player in that district who was EASILY the best.  But we live in the day of throw the second place team (or third place or whatever EC was) a bone.

I totally agree with you on this selecting process. There should be only 11 players selected, both offense and defensively to each team, 1 MVP, 1 OFFENSIVE, DEFENSIVE, UTILITY player of the year. You have kids now playing sparingly in 3-4 games all year and make all district. What this says about the coaches are they don’t really know the game of football in selecting these teams. What they do know who what kids parents are members of the Booster club, what parents are donating to the school or the program. This has been going on for the past 15-20 years. There are no such All District teams anymore

I have been seeing a lot of posts from outsiders about EC "recruiting". So is there any proof of this? I know they have move ins. I happen to know that a vast majority of the athletes at EC are home grown. Sounds like people just making excuses as to why EC has been such a good program for the past 20+ years. Haters gonna hate. EC must be the only team that "recruits". And as far as the game against OF, I believe OF wins this game and by a good margin, EC will once again make the playoffs and will get bounced in the first round. I guess their "recruiting class" this year wasn't that good. Lol

Two of the most talented players that moved to the Winnie - Stowell area are Nolton Shelvin and Earnest Ceasar. Both of them moved here with there parents, so I don't think that this is recruiting. Both of these kids parents still live here and have kids here in the community or in the area. For all of these other kids that have attended EC, I don't know what you would call them when you are driving here from other towns and communities. I wouldn't call them recruits, if they are recruits, EC needs to hire a new Recruiting coordinator. These are just kids coming to school in Winnie that just happen to play sports. Look at Beaumont, Port Arthur, Houston, this has been going on for 50 years and no one complained

EC has everything to gain and nothing to lose. I feel so much better after last game. Even though it was Hardin, we looked much more put together. Taking my Bucs to stand up and stand out. 29-15!

Man please. Hardin is the weakest team in the district. Everyone has slaughtered them. The same team that played Hardin, was the same team that played HF and Anahuac. Anahuac should have won that game by 2 more touchdown. The All State RB from Anahuac exposed EC DL. HE was injured when OF played them, and had he been able to play, it would have been a different outcome. Anahuac is loaded and very talented, so is OF

FYI, here some tie breaker info for this district.

    An Orangefield win:

    1. OF

    2. Anahuac

    3. EC

    4. Buna

An EC win of 1 or 2 points:

    1. OF

    2. Ana

    3. EC

    4. Buna

An EC win of 3-13 points:

    1. Ana

    2. OF

    3. EC

    4. Buna

    An EC win of 14+:

    1. Ana

    2. EC

    3. OF

    4. Buna

This would be nice to see EC win by 14, Turn the panthers loose, it really doesnt matter if EC wins or loses. They will not be the #1 seed as they were last year with Anahuac upsetting Woodville at home in the last game of the season,

You cannot think there's recruiting for soccer, that's just jealousy. EC runs a great program and has had a large population of soccer kids for a while. They just finally set it up recently. When you have the kids who are committed, talented and love the game you get success. I guess just because you're good fast it means it not has nothing to do with coaching or the fact kids have been playing it away from school for a while. Get out of here with that.🤡

There is no recruiting in the soccer program, those kids know the game. Its good that they are playing 4A schools, and only because there are not that many 3A schools that have soccer. If there was a 3A division, EC would have 2-3 state championships. i doubt that there is one transfer on this team

A Bobcat win gives them their first outright district championship since 1988 I believe. BUCS win and we have a 3 way tie at the top.

This should have been the Game of the Week, OF will dominate EC with its strong running game. EC front 4 will be worn down with this OF running game. it is solid and will be tough for EC to contain. EC will be close if the officials are from Beaumont Chapter. Any other chapter, OF will win by 2-3 TD. This Dischler kid #40 is the real deal

Must have got some bad info.  Maybe it was the Shelvin kid.  Its been a few years.  It doesn't matter though, EC isnt the only one who gets quality kids to come over for sports.  Dayton used to get it all the time under the Stewart era.  If my kid lived in the Bmt area, I'd make him go to EC as well.

Shelvin and his family moved here. His step father is home grown and an EC graduate

Thanks JimAdler, I think I just got my answer. I know it pains folks to admit it but honestly you take that one kid (that apparently did not live there) off those teams and they go nowhere. Likely 1st round exits. Wasn't he something like 60-70% of their offense? That kid ran wild through that district. Then the playoffs happened.

what kid are you talking about

The EC program has been dominant since 1995. ThT was Evans first year. Since then they have missed the playoffs only once. That’s pretty impressive. Everyone talks about coaching, the talent here inWinnie Stowell is second to none. Every coach since Evans has came in and made the playoffs. It’s the talent, not the coaches getting all of the credit. I have never liked Open Campuses, the move in sometimes hurt teams and local players. I feel if you don’t sleep here, you do not need to play here

Dont take anything away from Coach Sutherland, but probably one of the best teams or one of the top s is the team from 1996. they only gave up 40 points the entire season. they went 2 deep in the playoiffs without a bye game. that team was explosive and very talented, all local talented. every individual has there right to pick and feel the best team that played here at EC, this is my feel, the team in 1996. The team in 2018 is my 2nd choice, losing to state champion Grandview, who they should have beaten. the 3rd choice ids the team Tramaine Thomas played on. if there are any other team, lets talk about them, SHOW ME

I don't think EC has any significant move ins this year. You could be right though

They have one, Jarrell Smith. An average sophmore athlete that will be pretty good, but he has taken a spot that several kids on the team could be playing. he is not a difference maker on this team. i believe he will help the track team more as he appears to be fast. Coming in from HJ, can you blame this kid for nor transferring with a promise to play immediately

What does it matter if there was move?

it matters a lot when kids come here to Winnie and take a spot from a local kid who has the same talent. Until it is one of your kids who goes to the bench because of a move in, its ok. look at the big picture. EC has won on talent for many years, not coaching. TALENT. When the talent level drops, losing begins. EC has had one down year in 25, that speaks a lot of the talent and the program. they were winning before transfers came in to Winnie

I figured there weren't any this year. I think "world class" track star mentioned was a sophomore receiver with above average speed. Not world class though.

what is a !0.0 in 100M, if that is not world class, there is no class. Shelvin Nolton who is a junior at University of Texas was a RB 2 years ago at EC. the 2021 National Junior College Champion in 100M, Coffeyville College in Kansas. Look him up

lol, I just like listening to the hate and jealousy.  I find it amusing.  I didn't go to school there and have no ties to the football program currently or in the past.  I do follow their little program though.

I am genuinely curious about the rhetoric with "Beaumont" kids transfering in the past though.  Maybe it's a better school and opportunity for the family..?  Over 10k kids transfer in the state of Texas that participate in sports.  Everything should be transparent and if not should be brought up through the proper channels.

These kids that played here at EC that are considered move ins should be called something else. They or their families did not relocate and live here. These were kids that drove here from wherever everyday. I feel d local kids are talented enuf to carry EC. I have seen or known any of these kids that came in to participate in EC athletics to be rated as 3-5 star athletes

You may need to read my post again.  EC hasn't been a regional threat until Sutherland's (2) teams made some noise.  Aside from that, they've only been a district winner and setx presence.  We all know the facts.  Yes, the run started around 2000, as I stated above.
