Personally I don't think most of these particular highlights do him justice. I'm telling ya, the true definition of a ball hawk. I feel comfortable saying he is involved in probably 3/4 of defensive plays in a game. Whether solo tackles or assist. [Hidden Content]

talk about depth(when you have what looked like a 100 kids on the sideline) Bay City backups for the most part would have been starters at most schools. Our DAWGS were just give out, worn out, exhausted by the end of the game.

Jasper was down by 21 points 3 different times in that game. had the ball and was moving along with the chance to win when time run out at the end

9 shutouts in 13 games. of the 57 points the DAWGS allowed all season, 34 came in the Willowridge game.

yes sir! The DAWGS speed was on full display that day in College Station. LH never swayed from what they do, slowly but surely begin to make us Jasper fans very nervous. lol

Hey DAWGS fans, specifically reserved seating holders. Go get em today! I quite sure yall got your letters in the mail but I thought I post this just in case. (also I am EXCITED!) No price break whatsoever for us this year. Its only bout .50 cents when we do get a break. LOL. Tickets prices increased this season. $8 a seat. 5 home games. My mind plays tricks on me more and more as I get older, but I am gonna have to trust my guy instinct when I say Jasper has never played Madison. Around the late 90s early 2000s the only Houston teams we played with any kind of regularity was Strake Jesuit & Houston Smiley.

My friend, where/when did you see that game? Had to have been like 1999-2001(the years Vince was Varsity qb for madison).

Most are aware of the great game that took place a week after this one. This one ( Semi final) was equally, if not more thrilling than State Title Gane. The DAWGS jumped out early to 21-0 lead but by the end of game found themselves having to make a goal line stand on last play of game to win it. LH couldn't have beat us but with a 2 pt conversion if they had got td would have tied it. The way the 4th quarter had been going, overtime most likely would not have been good for Jasper. Final score 35-27. BTW, LH won State the next two seasons.

excuse me, pardon me, thank you. You are aware that District 9 4A DII is the toughest 4A DII District in the entire state ( according to the fellas on the knowledgeable & popular podcast that post here on the website pretty often). Js(just saying).........

mmmmm....Trust me I was there. This is the first I have EVER heard of controversy of Gilbert being out of bounds. The main sketchy call was the refs saying Jordan Patton did not cross the goal line on the 2 pt attempt to tie the game at that point.

I stand corrected on the 3 teams advancing. During that time us making playoffs was not an issue, so I got mixed up on that....APPARENTLY! LOL. what game are you referring to with QB out of bounds? Silsbee? Gilbert fumbled the ball at the goal line last play of game.

Personally, I became a HUGE fan of 3 teams making playoffs when it started in 2004. In 2004 we lost to Kirbyville, then lost to Silsbee in last District game of the year. We were 3rd in District. We lost to Gilmer 49-47 in State Title Game. 😢

Back at the beginning of the glorious 80s the Jasper Bulldogs of 1980 was "that" team. Gave up only 63 points all season. Tied Huntsville in pre District 15-15. Next to last District game tied Beaumont Hebert 10-10 (with Hebert declared the winner via penetrations). Only one team went to playoffs back then. LOL. Hebert was beat by Huntsville in playoffs, who went on to beat Paris in state title game.
