  1. Let's not compare college to high school, cuz no matte how weak or strong your schedule is in the beginning, it all comes down to the last part of your schedule. UT won the big games halfway through the season but then had a weak last few games while OU finished the year against the top teams in the conference. UT had no control over that. BCS plain and simple. In high school a stronger preseason schedule should help a team but can also hurt a team, but even if it's a weak schedule it still prepares them for district and a chance to get in the playoffs. No strength of schedule or computers decide if a team makes the playoffs, just DISTRICT wins or loses.
  2. We forgot liberty is such a powerhouse with their what 3 wins last year? And how many over the past couple years? I believe Hardin would come out on top if they played, I mean Dickey couldn't start for Hardin but he does for liberty? There's one clue right there.
  3. Hey 52 let's not get outta line! Can't say a classification in general doesn't hit because a 2a team that you watched doesn't hit, because that's only a team or a few teams not the whole classification. Generally the higher the classification the more athletes you have on the field at once, but not always true. I played 2a ball and personally we had some hard hitters on our team and the district, also in the playoffs. It's just silly to say that a certain classification "doesn't hit" based on a team or 2 that you are talking about.
  4. Who is liberty to talk? Hardin would spank them this year and last, and I believe HD would've last year as well! But if all you can hang on is your 2 district wins against sheperd and tarkington, then good luck with huffman.
  5. I agree, linemen in general don't get any recognition for the fans. Unless it is for missing a block or a holding penalty
  6. I read Dugat had 2 catches for 42 yards the first one being 34 yards.
  7. I was told that Major Applewhite was there for UT scouting Villemez when they played HD. Not sure if there is any truth to that or not
  8. Let's not forget the dropped pass by #7 when he was a step or 2 ahead of the friendswood defender, woulda be a TD. So don't say friendswood should've won by 20 cuz if not have been a couple big turnovers and drops Dayton could've won by 20
  9. GREAT game! Ploch impressed me, seen him lower his shoulder and run a defender over. Lots of hard hits from both teams. Dayton never gave up and almost came back, just too many turnovers and couldn't capitalize on the takesways like friendswood did. Both teams should be proud!
  10. I'll be at bronco stadium rooting for Dayton!
  11. What's up MAYo? The pants being hot is the whole point, not to protect your legs as they shouldn't be hitting low in practice anyways. I played under barbay too and we were full pads everyday, by the way I know what it takes to win that district championship too. We won our's in HD's last year in 2a.
  12. Anytime you lose a starter when you already don't have much depth it's gonna hurt. But either way, we will be waiting on him to return.
  13. I wasn't trying to put anyone down, just saying I think it would benefit them more to wear pants with full leg pads. I know these games "don't matter" when it comes down to getting in the playoffs but they do matter in getting them ready for district. I just want the best for my 'Cats and think full pads could only help.
  14. I'm sorry but HD has a TEAM and it is not made up off just Keith. Yeah he my be a big part of the defense, but their run defense didn't look too bad without him against Hardin. Hope he gets well soon; but let's not forget about Tim Taylor, who coach slack said was the heart and soul of the defense, being out. With that being said it is a Team sport and I'm sure they'll adjust and hopefully have Keith back for district. Good luck to warren and everyone else
  15. I believe if ya'll read it closer you will see what I am saying and what I believe he was trying to say, he said Hardin played Newton in '04 & '05 when they went to state both years but winning it all in '05. Don't think he was saying Hardin beat them
  16. Since tarkington only beat Huntington by A TD then Hardin will win by a lot and get the 2nd string plenty of playing time....no disrespect to tarkington but Hardin's offense is full of playmakers and is very dynamic, hardin's defense is stout as well!

  18. It's no problem rebel yeller, I was just making sure I wasn't missing anyone. I know you weren't trying to start anything...it's all good!
  19. I know they need to start practicind FULL pads or else they are gonna be in trouble. Isn't the old saying 'Practice how ya play'? I don't think they will be playing Fridays in just shoulder pads, helmets, and SHORTS! Come on coach!
  20. Warren can't be stopped??? You can't be serious!they beat WH by what like 4?
  21. Look guys, I would like to apologize for questioning Mitch's character, it was poor judgement on my part since I didn't know exactly what was going on. Mitch is a great athlete and didn't/doesn't deserve to be questioned, I know how much hard work he has put in to excel the way he does. I hope the Hardin fans can accept my apology after the idiotic comments I made, Good luck to the hornets on the season and make #32 proud as I'm sure he's watching
  22. I got your idiot! That's why asked for ya'lls input cuz ya'll see him more than I have, he's a good athlete, just struck me the wrong way Friday...just didn't realize what was happening. I was one of the first to congratulate Hardin, so let's not start calling people idiots
  23. Or our youth and inexperienced backs and QB...hardin's defense was stout, but don't get the big head until you beat a 2a team that you aren't expected to. I'm sorta glad Hardin won with it being the memorial for Mr. Pate. Villemez is a good athlete but I think he has a big head and thinks he is the team, the way he ran out of the tunnel first by himself and walked to the huddles when everyone else ran, I'm sure glad Miles should him he is the offensive leader. I hope Mitch can put his ego to the side and play for the team, maybe I seen it wrong but maybe the Hardin fans can chime in like I'm sure they will.
  24. That's exactly what I said, it was a good adjustment to throw more since the running game wasn't doing anything. As for a 31 point win, the game was closer than the score shows, as Hardin scored 28 points off of turnovers inside our 10..Hardin did take advantage of the TO's and it's a part of the game. Good game nonetheless!
