  1. Might be? What's he waiting on? Gotta get the name changed on those water bills for 3-4 months before they turn in the paperwork? The uproar to this year's recruits/transfers came after they already got them in. The new district committee won't be unprepared like the old one. The fact that the new transfer is already being discussed practically proves the move is for athletic purposes...I know, I know. Rules don't matter. Everyone does it. I'm a fool!
  2. Congratulations to Silsbee! You Tiger fans are awful spoiled to be nitpicking a team that is going to the regional tournament...again. Especially when you lost all those players the last several years. Great job Coach Sigler and staff, great job Braylon Bush, and great job to the role players who stepped up.
  3. They would not have been close to the playoffs. Good thing they got the next Doc Rivers to coach them up.
  4. Just because they got away with it does not mean it wasn't an athletic move. Earlier you talk about HJ needing to stop whining, get it in the gym, and get better. Advocating the addition of players via transfer doesn't support that statement. Which is it? Work hard and get better or change your personnel through "players recruiting players?"
  5. He's about as tied in with HF basketball as one can be. The season ended Friday and he knows about a new transfer coming in already. He's been working in it a while. Pretending he didn't know Matt Pace was at Lumberton is a smokescreen.
  6. It's like the only players you seen are from Beaumont, Lumberton, and HF (Beaumont). Interesting perspective.
  7. Best guards in the whole area would not have run from competition at United. They would have logged more minutes in the gym and grinded to get better. Am I right?
  8. Easy now, Tigee. Should have been focused on Booker T, but too busy telling people we're getting CE King gig. What's disgusting is your disregard for rules and lack of loyalty.
  9. As I understand it, all the transfers participated in summer practices last year. When Ardoin comes over, HF can start an entire group of transfers like a mini Yates! But... Tigee is working on getting the CE King job. Going to be a heckuva commute for him and the district's best backcourt from Bmt to East Houston. Nice knowing ya HF!
  10. Two eye witnesses of Adams at Silsbee Middle School!? Does that make idiotproof an idiot?
  11. Well my dad is black. My mom is black. My wife is black and even my kids are black. This is why I said "we" can't cry racism every time someone doesn't agree with our opinion. Try to keep up. The two kids that came over can really play and seem to be good kids. They somehow got cleared for eligibility, but everyone knows they were recruited to come over and should not be eligible. They got cleared and I need to let it go, but it is difficult when you guys keep promoting your friend/yourself as a coaching guru when all his/your success is on the shoulders of illegal transfers. At the expense of the "local" Hamshire Fannett kids. When coach learns more offense than the spread stall or iso with the point guard maybe I'll be impressed. This will be the last I post on this topic and I should have stopped long ago. My advice to Coach Rideau is to follow the rules before it catches up to you. My advice to you would be to be a lot more cautious with that accusation, as it is both divisive and dangerous.
  12. We can't cry race every time someone has an opinion we don't like...and #5 at HJ is a black kid. Doesn't matter. The old "they do it too" defense isn't worth much either. He brought four kids over with him. Two are players, one is on JV (why?), and I think another is hurt. What happens next year when the Ardoin kid from PA shows up? And a couple more from Bmt? HF gonna field a whole team of transfers and completely abandon all our local kids? This guy will do whatever he can to get an advantage and the first chance that guy gets he'll jump ship and leave HF right back where it was. And then who is going to bring the Beaumont kids to school?
  13. HJ, Huffman, HF, Tarkington should make a really tough district depending on what happens with HF moving forward. District 22 looks lots weaker. Silsbee going to play the Fab 5. LCM started two freshmen at HF the other night and I think shooter comes back. Bridge City should be good because they all come back, but I think they say that every year.
  14. I have to say I don't agree with his methods of bringing players in from other communities, but Coach Rideaux has done a good job with them. I don't think they great x and o wise, but his players know their roles. I keep hearing he will leave after this year and we will see what happens with all the transfers. Also, HF community deserves a new gym. It hasn't been full in a long time, but when it only holds 500 it'll get crowded quick.
  15. I know the Freshman/JV referee you are talking about and it is disgraceful that an official would call a game his own child is playing in. It is disgraceful that someone would schedule that (also a HF person). Referees are by nature supposed to be neutral and he's assigned his own children's games? Not good.
  16. The great game changer won't be back next year and the Beaumont kids gonna go right back to Beaumont.
  17. It's not as wide open as most think. Unless HF beats Silsbee and HJ (ain't happening) they can only tie Lumberton or Little Cypress. And that's only if those teams lose out (ain't happening). Now West Orange Cove still has a shot at it, but it seems rather long at this point too.
  18. Lumberton basically returned the whole squad and is two games back from LCM and behind WOS due to head to head. I have been critical of Coach Rideaux's "rebuilding" strategy at Hamshire, but I think Lumberton was better when he was there.
  19. Silsbee is way down from last year. HJ is way down front last year. They both still good teams, but the gap to the rest of the district has narrowed. That doesn't mean the rest of the district is very good. They are just competitive with each other and closer to the top, which makes things entertaining. We've been spoiled in recent years with the talent level in this 4A district.
