The PNG game was not a good yardstick for the Panthers as the refs were so terrible, it killed momentum for both teams. I do agree that Ozen has way too much talent to have an 0-fer district record. As bad as I hate to say it, it boils down to coaching. The parity in 20-4A has created a logjam behind Central. it is a shame that Ozen isn't in the middle of it.

I haven't seen many games outside of district 20-4A, so my perspective is limited. I will say the front 5 from PNG is the best group I have ever seen play. Only 2 sacks so far this year and both of them came in the Nederland game. If there is a better O-line in this region, I wanna see 'em!

I'm not EVEN going to try to predict a score in this game. Anything can happen on Friday night in district 20-4A. This is shaping up to be a very good game. The Indians are geting better each week on the defensive side of the ball, and the offense has been a well-oiled machine. LCM is bringing the best coached and best talented team they have had in years. Its gonna be a good ball game. Scalp 'em Indians!

Good post Soulja, and I do agree. Glad you got to join us on the purple side. I sat down by the band and Indianettes, and had a ball! The band had spent the afternoon at the marching contest, yet still put on a great show and kept the crowd and players pumped up through the end. This was an exciting game, and yes, both teams played their hearts out. This was the worst officiated game I believe I have ever seen. The women folk kept asking me what was going on. I kept telling them I dont know because the officials didnt know either! The refs seemed clueless the whole game. The Indian defense showed some promise, but still needs some work. #61 was out of his pads for the 2nd half after spending much of the 1st half in the Ozen backfield. I do hope he is back for the LCM game. We are still getting burned deep for the big plays. I'm sure adjustments will be made this week, as LCM has a better passing QB that is a big running threat too. This was my first trip to the "Butch" and I was impressed. It is a beautiful stadium with the best concession stand food and friendliest people in 20-4A. Wonderful facility and I am looking forward to the next game there.

Lumberton had no success against LCM, and got beat 49-0. If we have any sucess on the D side of the ball tonight we'll be OK. Scalp 'em Indians and NO MORE injuries!

[/quote] tvc hit the nail on the head. Nobody in this area, especially district 20-4A looks past Central. As far as statewide recognition, the football writers and gurus rarely look at anything East of Houston. Central does not have the long, storied past that PNG does, and as PNG fans, we aren't going to let anyone forget it either! Just keep on winning and that will solve a lot of problems. Soulja, please explain this burr under your saddle about "no discipline" I've read that about Ozen, but must have missed it about Central?

After seeing both teams, no way Livingston loses this one at home. Livingston has that coach/announcer in the press box!  ;D  Nederland will make them work for it, but I dont see them stopping the Livingston running game. I will have to give credit to Nederland for much improvement each week, but I dont see them as fired up for this game as they were last week. It ought to be a good game. Good luck to both teams, y'all play hard and dont get hurt!

Gonna weigh in on this one. I'm glad that LCM is having a great season. I'm also glad Central turned things around. Both teams are tops in 20-4A and both will make the playoffs, one of them will be district champs. I dont think LCM has seen a caliber team like Central and will struggle. Central will win this on one in a tight contest. Y'all play hard and dont get anybody hurt!

This is the poorest playing defense I think I have seen at PNG. Some good individual play, but as a team, they are as porous as any I have seen. This is not to take anything away from Nederland. I saw them in their first game against WOS and this is a very much improved team. They were hitting on all cylinders last night and the Indian defense was flat. Good game Bulldogs!

I'm through making predictions. I've been wrong 4 out of 5 weeks and I'm tired of eating crow. PNG is a better team than they have displayed the last couple of games. I'm pulling for them to turn it around but not gonna predict it. I'll be there next week pulling for them, hoping to hear Cherokee a few more times than I have lately. I'm not looking forward to hearing that train horn though...
