  1. pretty neat thing with being able to matchup teams and come up with a simulated score. by doing this kirbyville only lost to arp 31-26, doubtful it will happen though
  2. I think he is making note of the fact that you surprisingly managed to move anahuac way up the poll. something sure does seem strange about that.. ;)
  3. as i heard someone say about muleshoe being the best 2a team in the state until someone else takes that title right now kirbyville is nthe best team in this area until another 2a team takes it from them GET OVER IT!!! and i guarantee you that newton wouldnt beat silsbee a second time and given a second chance kirbyville would beat wos. okay blondie calm down and jj there is a site called eastexsports.com start walking
  4. i was talking with someone from silsbee today and he said the numbers move every two years. so 429 doesn't matter.
  5. you must have fallen off the biggest turnip truck you could find when you were born last night and bumped that big rock on your shoulders....Kirbyville rolls!!!!!
  6. Yeah silsbee beat WOS and yall got lucky....hahahahahahaha....an unheard of 45 yard field goal attempt hitting the upright halfway up at the close of the game...pleeeease!!
  7. I was talking with a high ranking person on the kirbyville staff and the number he threw at me was more like 435-440 not 452. You have to remember that kirbyville takes handicapped and resource students from buna as well so the number 452 is probably the inflated number with the buna students.
  8. Newton Team Stats: Yards First Downs Rushing Passing Comp./Att./%/TD/Int 2012 65 1574 438 Flanigan; 438 438 14/26/53.85/5/4 Kirbyville Team Stats: 2437 91 2019 418 Cucancic: 383 383 14/43/32.56/4/5 Jones: 35 35 1/1/100/35/1/0 From what I've been hearing Flanigan is suppose to be a beast at Qb, I know we have already faced a bigger one in Sam Alvis from Jasper. Look at the stats people, unless my eyes deceive me there aren't that many differences in the Qb position (newton and Kirbyville). if they are fairly even there look at the stats for rushing. Kirbyville has more rushing yards than Newton has as a total team. And might I add that Ford has sat out alot of plays in the third and fourth qtrs. and we have played two highly regarded and ranked 3A teams(our only losses). And yes I checked NEWTON HASN'T!!!!!! The crown sits here in Kirbyville and probably will for atleast one more year. these stats were pulled from the beaumont enterprise website.
  9. 1. I think Newton is Over-hyped like that team from Orange County. Reason: They have only played ONE decent team before district started. If they were so great they should have walked all over a woodville team that lost to WARREN. I expected the score to be more lopsided than what it was. 2. Yeah Woodville might play them tough but I believe Hemphill will be the third team in. 3. Turnovers and penalties have been a common part of Wildcat football this year. I would excuse the game this past week, fumbles were going to be a given. I have noticed that alot of the fumbles have occurred with the handoffs or pitches to the runningbacks. With more focus on this the turnovers would be cut to less than half of their avg. 4. JJSPEED8 we'll worry about Arp when we need to, so keep watching! With playing conditions far less than standard in the pond that is known as Shelbyvilles football field (did you see their baseball fields?) thought I saw a kayaker out there......Kirbyville did well with the turnovers. Minus the interception!!! Still havent figured out tring to thrown the ball that far down field in a fairly strong wind like that.
  10. kville and arp would meet up in the third round of the playoffs with corrigan camden and anahuac being the only two stepping stones Arp looks like 100% likely.
  11. I agree that they havent hit their stride yet im actually hoping they dont do it til about 2 weeks from now. It seeemed to me like they kind of tapped out in the last three games of the last season. Either way they should walk through the next three games hopefully playing conditions will be better. I would rather them catch stride just before newton and then turn it on than burn out now.
  12. Hey Aggies, Weren't we acctually 9-0. I thought a game was cancelled by weather that year. That would be correct. If I remember correctly as well silsbee met up with Palestine in the first round and lost that year as well. Kirbyville went 13-0 and finished 13-1 last year.
  13. whatever gives anyone on here the idea that anahuac is going to make it past the second round, they are lucky enough to get that far only due to their week one bye. maybe you've forgotten who they will be meeting up with. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  14. yeah right (sarcasm) hope he gets well
  15. i dont think HJ has enough ammunition for a shootout with the Ville, they just better hunker down and get ready for a long night and walk away with as few wounds as they possibly can. I predict kville by 35 with Alvarez calling the dogs off midway through the third.
  16. congrats dawgs...............hope this bring more credibility to what kville did last week!!!!!!
  17. not kirbyvilles fault wos cant hold their water.... ;D ;D ;D ;D
  18. not quit correct but close! Yes they did come in to Mustang Stadium and might not have had more points on the score board at the end of the game, but was far from being dealt with and definently was not "sent" home. They did leave town with their heads held high and very proud of how they played. They did leave town with the Mustang faithful left to come up with excuses sorry COOP reasons from everything to fumbles, to penalties, to the age of the players. I realize that WOS did get the win and thats really all that matters. I also know that when you win you dont need to make excuses, but if a 2a school that everyone expected you to beat by at least 30 comes into your home stadium and stands toe to toe with you and takes you to overtime, then you are only left with one of two things to do! Give the Wildcats credit for their play keeping them off balance causing them to make mistakes and excuting when they needed too! or come up with "reasons" why the mustangs "allowed" this to happen because everyone knows that Kirbyville could not do this on their own. Which everyone helps you sleep at night works for me! I realize this is a sin to say this about Hooks but there is two reasons I havent heard tossed around yet! unprepared and outcoached! A moral victory is a loss. Nobody thought that Kville would lose by 30. A team with talent to go to the State Championship is a good team and classification does not matter. We've had lots of good games with Newton years ago. Venom mentioned a magical playbook. I've been looking for it too, maybe its being saved for district play. LOL I don't think Coop is stirring the pot when talking about all of the penalties. Some of our most productive plays were called back because of procedure calls. Its a fact. dont most plays get blown dead before they develop on a procedure call? maybe its just me.........but i doubt it
  19. i agree with skipper on the short pass plays. let the receivers use their speed to get away from the secondary instead of going for passes of 15 or more yards all the time. franks needs to stay out of the backfield or they need to be more diverse in the way they use him from there. i noticed that when he was in the qb position they consistently used trips receivers and ran him to that side. yes it makes sense to do that, but when you face a defense big and strong enough they will be able to slow that play up much like kville did. i called what they were doing all night and only once did i see him go to the weak side. all im saying is that if you are going to use him in this way, it definetely needs to be mixed up a heck of a lot more. based on what i have seen from the last two weeks from my team, as long as wos plays as least as good as they did against kville they should win by atleast 14. im basing this upon the worst game i have seen the cats play in a long time against jasper and a little less than perfect game against wos.
  20. when was the last time kville lost two straight? been awhile. i think they will come out madder than hell and shame on the team or teams that stand in their way from here on out. good luck liberty. you're going to need a whole bunch of it.
  21. i keep hearing all the wos fans saying that they played a horrible game and that is what made it so close. i want to ask the kville fans, who thought the cats played their best game? i remember a horribly rocky start, and several poorly pitched balls and handoffs on the cats side of the ball. i personally dont think kirbyville played on all 8 cylinders tonight (maybe 7). also curious as to what the wos fans are comparing the play of kville to, it's almost like they have a perfect measuring stick over there as to where every team should be in every classification and up to the day of every week. is it possible that (and this pertains to every matchup across the nation at every level), when two great teams match up(tradition not a factor), they almost cancel each other out, and maybe the level of play looks lower than expected. just the opposite would apply to this rule as well( not in this case), two poorly coached teams with very little talent making each other look extremely good.
  22. what good does it do to blame the refs or call names? both teams had some calls that were perhaps on the shady side. it is high school football. my only concern is whether or not the cats are going to get the respect i and many other cat fans feel they deserve? i understand some people on this site take things a little to personal and the cheater remark was probably extremely biased. yeah wos had a bunch of penalties but kirbyville had a fair amount of penalties too if you reall think about it and some of theirs was just a dumb.
