  1. Florian in the upset Silva but Forrest takes it to the third round Sadollah Almeida Pelligrino Nelson John Howard Leites Riddle Sotiropoulis Villefort
  2. I like Hendo but I think Franklin is going to pull it out.
  3. WEll quantity is not necessarily better but I would say in the UFC's case it is. I am just bummed that my free showtime ran out and now can't watch Gina Carano fight! Not only is she beautiful she can fight! Same for Cyborg, not that pretty but the fighting stuff!
  4. You may as well highlight the two WEC fighters because they are property of the Fertittas anyway!
  5. Same here. But I might try and see if my niece can get me a deal on some tickets through her company. See if she knows anyone who has them and won't use them. Then beg my wife to see if she will let me spend the money on them and drive to Dallas and ........ Forget it, I will watch it at baseball's house!
  6. Good article. i agree with it for the most part. I don't know about Severn and Coleman but Shamrock came into the WWE after he had been in the cage and then discovered it was not what he wanted and left.
  7. Gee I wonder why you like it so much/ I am still waiting for baseball to invite us all over for the next fight on PPV.
  8. Maybe some kind of suspension clause in the contracts for some of these ex rasslers to have to follow just in case their old habits starts creeping out a little too much.
  9. Ultimately the Fertitas and White are out to make money so nothing is impossible but I think that DAna would choose to keep him away but it is about the fans and the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
  10. That is what happens when you talk a lot of crap against an opponent like he did about GSP and then get beat so bad that your corner throws in the towel before the last round ever starts. BJ Penn is a phenomenal fighter with great skills but his time may bave passed by and others like Florian are coming up to replace him.
  11. As long as he is signed with TNA I don't see Dana ever looking at him seriously. He has a similar, not as good but similar wrestling past at Lesnar's. But with him still rasslin he won't get a sniff from the UFC especially after what Lesnar just pulled in the post fight. I also watched Lashley fight and his strength may very well match up to Brock's. I think that if he was willing to step away from TNA that Dana might consider it but otherwise no deal. Not if he wants to stop any comparisons that are being made to UFC and other mma groups being too much like the WWE.
  12. LUFAN, what venom is saying about signing their likeness away is that for example if you look at the UFC video game Tim Sylvia is a character you can play with and yet he has not been with the UFC for two years since he lost against Couture. Same with other fighters. Part of the UFC contracts state that when you sign with them you sign your rights to your likeness over to them for marketing but you don't get them back when you leave. Don't be fooled into thinking that just because it looks one way it is that way. I have read plenty of articles written both in favor and against the way the UFC treats its employees (fighters) differently depending on who they are. I still believe it is the best one out there, but for me I have been on sherdog and in my opinion both venom and baseball are just as if not more knowledgeable as anyone on that site. The other part is, I believe, that Fedor is smart. He knows he can beat the guys in Affliction and the other minor organizations for that matter. So with the air of superiorty surrounding him, justifiably so mind you, he can sit back and demand all he wants and knows that Dana White has to give in to him to get him in the UFC. Not many fighters in the world can honestly say that Dana White is their B****, which is what Fedor is doing to Dana now. Dana is going to have to come up with a contract for Fedor that makes Lesnar's look small in comparison to get him to sign. I do think that after August 1 you will see a huge bidding war going on with the UFC coming out on top of it with Fedor under contract. I also see that once that happens you will see Fedor fighting for the belt at the very next PPV possible afterwards.
  13. Now don't get me wrong because after the trash Mir spewed all before the fight he got a pounding. But Lesnar is a dick. He is a former WWE performer who for years has been using drugs to build that body up to the point where he is probably stronger than any other man in the organization. Don't sit there and tell me that he is naturally over 300 pounds and cuts. It is possible but not likely. I know that these guys are tested after their fights but HGH is not tested for most of the times. I said it before he knows he is too big for most of the guys to muscle and is quick as the smaller guys so he is confident he can't lose. Now if he fights Fedor and smashes him then he is right, he can't be beaten. I don't like him and do not respect him as a person. I respect his abilities and his work ethic, as I doubt that what we see on his training videos are only done while the cameras are there. But I also feel like you are just sending the wrong message to the world about what MMA is really supposed to be about. I think Lesnar caused the UFC to take a step or two backward in the eyes of mainstream America. Which is who Dana is trying to still sell it to. Sure the company is worth over a billion now but he wants it on every channel like football or basketball. He wants the fighters to be known commodities like T.O. or Ochocinco, Pujols or Kobe and LeBron. While the fighters are known to us the true fans they are still not as recognized in the outside world yet. I think that what Brock did was horrible and wish I could have been in there when Dan ripped him a new one. I think that Brock has the potential with his background of popularity to have taken the UFC on his shoulders and carried it to new heights but this hurt its chances. Now the people who compared it to cockfighting are almost going to feel more justified in their belief. With all that being said, man those were some great fights.
  14. I was listening to the radio while running errands and put on Carl Dukes' show on 97.5 The Ticket. He was talking about mma and asking if, since UFC 100 is tomorrow, the sport was officially mainstream or not and you should have heard some of the idiots on both sides calling in. First you had the boxing fans who can't admit that another fight sport is taking some of their glory, not replacing it but definitely pushing it hard. Then you have some guys call in and rip Dana and say he is why the UFC will not last much longer because he ran off Tito. You had a couple of seemingly knowledgeable guys call in but it started bugging me because Dukes is not a fan of mma and while he was respectful to a point it seems a bit fake on his part. One thing I will say that is keeping mma from going completely mainstream is the idiots out there who say they watch UFC fights for the violence because they love the violence. I for one believe, and most of the true mma fighters I have seen back this up, that real mma fans are not the brooding neanderthals watching two guys who bludgen their opponents to death like in the gladiator days. I know for a fact that these guys for the most part are not really walking around looking for a fight outside the ring. For crying out loud, even Wanderlei "The Ax Murderer" Silva seems like a big pussycat in the real world. I really think that this image is the last barrier that Dana and other promoters are trying to dismantle so that mma will continue to grow and not become stagnant.
  15. He is ashamed of us! I guess we are like the fat girl you date in the town where none of your friends live so you can't be seen with her.
  16. I live in Dayton, home of the almost state champs. I also think it is funny that only something like one or two other guys in my church actually admit to liking UFC, it is either they never have been into fighting and won't start now or they think it is only for the younger crowd. I guess it does not help that I am the only guy there that played sports past high school and the only guy there who wrestled so that kind of got me started with the interest back in the day.
  17. Yeah and no coach has ever lied about speed times and sizes ever have they! I mean for crying out loud, my best friend in high school was listed at 6'1 205 pounds and at a 4.75 in the forty. When in reality he was 5'11, maybe 6'0 in cleats and about 185-190, ran a 4.9 forty time. Cleveland is quick from what I saw of them last year in a couple of games. I don't know much about HJ but since they lost they will be motivated since they will probably be the dog in the picks. I say CHS 28 HJHS 14.
  18. Why does everyone on here think Huffman is moving up? I live in Dayton so I don't know much about them but it seems like this is not the first time I have seen them mentioned as one of the schools moving up or down as the case may be. I went and played golf at the course there in Huffman a couple of weeks ago and there was something like 10 homes with for sale signs in the neighborhood around the course alone, that does not look like a good sign of people moving in to me. But I could be wrong. I know that what I saw on one day is not a true measuring stick but was just curious. Other than the apartments as you go into the bridge I don't see any new developments in Huffman.
  19. Yes the next few months are going to be good. The kids at the gym today were all so weirded out that I know so much of the UFC and MMA in general. Being a former wrestler and all I have followed it for a while but got back into it more about six years ago. The kids today all think that UFC is so hip and "their" thing. It kind of suprises them when i can talk of the really early days of Severn and Kimo vs Royce. ONe of them started talking about Gracie and I was like which one, he did not know any other than Royce. I mentioned Renzo, and their dad Helio, and he just looked at me like i was nuts! Makes me laugh.
  20. I must say that when I watch Rashad fight I start to believe that your true character comes out when the pressure is on. When he is in the ring he acts like the typical smart *** thug kind of fighter but when he is interviewed he puts forth a different kind of persona. I wonder which one is the real Rashad? But I loved it when he got knocked on his butt!
  21. It would be better if it were not for the fact that two of the prior UFC fights are going to have Title shots this weekend and then Anderson Silva fighting Griffith on another. Kind of a let down, but if you are a fan of MMA this is still a good card to watch, but I won't necessarily be upset if I miss it.
  22. I had to look twice before I saw the wink, I nearly called you retard!
