  1. bbjunk53 -You information is wrong on BC not having 15 yr. old baseball. The fact is that they already have 2 and almost 3 teams of 15-16 yr. olds and will interleague with a couple of other leagues in the area. The 15-16 yr.old league will not start until May 1st. so as to give the kids a chance to finish High school ball.It will be a 6-7 week season with 12-14 games being played. If anyone needs more information on signing up they can go to www.bcll.org and contact the VP of that league.
  2. queenb77630 with all of this knowledge that you have for what it cost to repair and run a league the size of BCLL why have you not stepped up and put it to good use and VOLUNTEER at the ballpark.I do volunteer and spend countless hours on the upkeep of the ballpark and the financials of the facility and the true amount of damage to the facility.I have even had to stay late a couple of years ago with the police and fire dept. while they looked for a child that the parents did not keep a eye on that thankfully was found unharmed in Orange.I wonder what that cost was!!!!!!If more people would volunteer their time at the ballpark instead of ONLY voulunteering IDEAS on how to do things from their COMPUTER then maybe they would have a true understanding of what it takes to be a board member at any Little League. The BCLL has board members, that are still living in FEMA trailers because their house was damaged from IKE,dedicating time at the ballpark working, making board meetings and running a program for YOUR child when they could home trying to repair their own home. Queen the LL is always looking for dedicated board members, I could even send you a application.Until you step up to the plate Queen, keep your wisdom to yourself. If you would like to really find out what goes on behind the scenes then we will see you at workdays every Saturday starting @ 8:00a.m. this Saturday.
  3. The event was a huge success with many thanks going to the people of Houston that arranged for the benefit as well as the local people that helped. The funds raised should get the league started on repairs, which will continue through the season. The event was first class!
  4. Bridge City is going to have at least 2 teams maybe three in SR. ball.(15-16yr.olds).They are taking sign-ups and the season for the Sr. league ball season will not start until May 1st. so to not interfere with high school ball.Since there is not Sr. ball in Nederland and Pt. Neches kids from that area can play in B.C. Just in case somebody did want to know, B.C. does scholarship kids. They never turn a kid away for financial reasons.
  5. The turnout and the talent was impressive this past weekend. The tryouts were well organized considering that it was held indoors and the amount of respected instructor's that were there was impressive as well. The convenience of having a indoor facility to use was a great help this weekend and will no doubt help this organization during the off-season and bad weather days.Great Job guy's.
  6. My understanding is that the tryouts will be for teams to be selected and the teams will stay together for the fall and spring. They will not have a spring tryout.
  7. With these two organizations combining there should be a lot of talented players on these teams.
  8. Great game by both teams. It was a lot closer until Jasper's pitcher, Delay, came out of the game with a hurt neck/shoulder. BC took pitches that were balls and started hitting anything that was put over the plate.Hopefully they will ride this to the State Tournament this weekend.Good Luck BC.
  9. The B.C Jr's won last night 12-9. They will play West End tonight at 7:30 p.m.
  10. What was the score of the NLL and FHWS 10 yr. old game last night????
