I am not degrading any schools in this comment because I personally like smaller schools and the atmosphere they bring. I believe it will be hard for Deweyville to hang around with Silsbee Friday night. Silsbee is a great team and although I don't really know anything about Deweyville I just don't see them hanging around. They might possibly be able to if they have good pitchers but it wouldn't be smart for them to pitch them in the middle of district and waste their arms. Silsbee has quite a few arms to throw that wouldn't hurt them in district play. This is just another game to help work on new things for both teams. I'm glad the "bigger" schools help the smaller schools out by playing them; even if they get to run up the score.

Congrats on the win Anahuac. I don't know a lot about this district but i know Buna was suppose to go undefeated in district from what i heard. I like to see unexpected games like this.

I'm suprised a small team kept them from dunking!

It may just be that i'm from around here but i just feel that players and teams are tougher around here. Because i watched a couple West Texas' games and it seemed like there was always laying on the field hurt. But it could be just that i want to think that this area is tougher.  ;D

I think the pro's should take some notes on how to have fun.

Its hard to get a good comparison facing other teams. Also you said that Buna beat Deweyville 5-0 and that Kirbyville beat them 17-2 but Kville has yet to play Deweyville. Also you didnt say that Kirbyville got beat by OF while Buna beat them. I don't like comparing like that though.

I'm not picking a side on this debate i am just saying some thoughts.

Where did Kirbyville's hitting power go when ya played those soaring Woodville Eagles?

We out hit woodville 12 - 5 and 5 or 6 outs were linedrives to center or left. The ball was not bouncing our way that night.

As for who is better, I would still take Kirbyville.

Kirbyville has better record, this would include all games no matter who is pitching. If you are not basing on records alone then here is more information that shows Kville is better:

1. Buna lost to Silsbee - Kirbyville beat them bad twice (17-1)

2. Buna lost to HJ - Kirbyville beat HJ

3. Buna lost to HF 11 -0. Kirbyville lost as well but only by 1 run

4. Buna barley beat Kountze, Kirbyville spanked them

5. Buna beat Deweyville 5 - 0. Kirbyville beat them (17-2)

6. Last but not least Kirbyville beat BUNA!!!

Buna struggles against anyone who can hit their spots. yes, they have good pitching but their bats need improvement. If a pitcher or the defense has a off game, they lose.  That's the way it was last year and the way it is this year.

I know a lot of people will disagree with this but thats why we all have our own opinion. Starting from the top:

I believe Buna's loss to Kville in a tourny was not a true sign of the best team. In a tournament you don't have your best pitchers ready to go and Buna had a slow start.

Kirbyville is strong this year. Has won against Buna but i still don't believe they are ready to be number one.

EC-Deweyville very close together. EC has beat Deweyville at home but i believe Deweyville will win at home to tie it up. I have Deweyville higher because of EC's loss to Kountze.

Evadale has a great team this year. Nice power with bats. But i believe they wouldn't beat the teams ahead of them. They tied with Kountze but it was in a tournament. Close call

Kountze stuck with Buna until the end losing by one. They also beat EC by one but just don't believe they have enough to be higher.

Chester has solid team. But did get shut out by Legacy 6-0.

Woodville beat Kirbyville and is 3-0 in district. Could be a little higher but i believe they are good here.

High Island and Sabine Pass are close together. The last two spots could move around from game to game.

Great game both teams. Congrats on the win Nederland.

Any Predictions?

After seeing the first few weeks of the baseball season who do you believe as had the best start of their season and who has had the worst? There are many teams that are having either of these.

I'm taking Kville because like Break em said Buna isnt playing their ball right now. Will be a nice game to watch.

Kountze will win this one big. But they won't run the score up too bad i think. I believe Andrews will shoot some 3's and bring the score down a little. Hopefully Coach Joubert will not let his players disrespect the other team. I doubt Kountze will though.

He didn't start, but came in a few minutes after tipoff and played often.  He appeared to be out of control in the first half.  He forced some offbalance shots and made a few bad passes.  In the fourth and in OT, he made some key 3 pointers.  He did miss the free throws in OT that would have put Central up by 3 points with 24 seconds left which is something strange because his is a great free throw shooter.  You can tell this is his first game of this magnitude.  I expect him to play more under control when Ozen comes to our house.  Sky is the limit for him.  You just have to see him.

You are exactly right about the sky being the limit for him. I'm sure he will have his nerves together at home.
