I read an article in the EMC Observer yesterday where a coach at NC said "they didnt want to make any drastic changes for Cleveland and that the NC Eagle players wanted to continue running the same system they have been running" (not an exact quote - but close) - This statement is complete BS - none of the players on that team believe in that offense.
-
Cleveland scored 30 and held New Caney to 0. Does anyone see a problem with that?
I do !
-
Playa and Jack - can someone please explain to me why NC coaching is so determined to run this Tony Frankiln spread when it clearly wont work with these kids? After a year and a half wouldn't you think they would at least try something different ??? ??? ??? !
-
Just like I thought. I did not figure that any of the NC supporters would be mature enough to come on here and say that Cleveland was the better team last night.
Saw the stats in the paper this morning and there is not any way you can say based on those that the game was closer than it looked, or that Cleveland had a bunch of breaks. Or any of the other excuses people give when the underdog on paper wins big.
Cleveland was a much better team. New Caney has no offense - yet they continue to try to run the spread each week. Cleveland was hungry and executed very well against a bigger and stronger team. Congrats to Cleveland and Tullos on a fine job!

I have heard that Cleveland has a real good team. NC defense is playing pretty well and should be ok, just not sure if offense can move the ball. I'm going with NC!
-
I'll be there - tell me about Cleveland - I hear that they have some speed!
-
Too much heat - Mena will stay in New Caney!
-
How will Dayton be fine losing 5 Defensive players?
Good point - I was kinda wondering the same thing - they must have a ton of depth - would be a huge blow to most teams at any level.
-
Well I'm certainly confused - No offense to WOS, Navasota, China Springs, Cisco, and others - but I dont think they could take down North Shore.
-
They better have plenty security guys.
-
What a great coach to stand firm in doing the right thing and setting an example!
-
If Hardin gets any more recruits from New Caney - they will dominate!
-
Good luck !

They squeeked by in several games last year to pull out some last minute wins - but - Crawford did an incredible job last year turning that program around - he has the talent to work with if he can get them to play as a team. Agree with BHFAN this team may become a powerhouse - IF they can play together.

Good Review! I watched the raiders last year in BH play Smiley and the Lamarque game, they had a good squad last year and there fans were awesome. Look forward to the BH/Lumberton game this year!!
BH will crush Lumberton.
Oh your gonna gettem going now ETBU !

I will be hunting on the Callaghan ranch this year just north of Laredo. So yes gas and feed are killing us. But as soon as the trigger is squeezed you forget about the rest of it.
Until you fill up twice going back home.
With diesel costing about a dollar more a gallon than it was last year - it will cost about $50 a trip more this year. With corn costing a couple dollars a bag more than it did last year it will cost me about $40 a trip more than it did last year. So overall I'm looking at about $700 - $800 more to hunt. I'm looking at about a 15% increase to hunt - it sucks - but it ain't enough to stop me!

Got a copy from Barns and Nobles in Humble!

Ok, I'll take Huffman !

I also saw the Dickey kid play last year and the year before. He is a really good player. D1, Don't know yet, but he does have good football people in his family, this usually translates to a smarter than average quarterback. I can tell you he is quick and is really strong. Wish him the best of luck. You Hardin folks are in for a treat with his grandparents. They will be at all of his games. They are good people.
"You Hardin folks are in for a treat with his grandparents." - ain't dat da truth!

It's right around the corner
If you count 5 months away, right around the corner.
Well, actually it ain't too far off - been loading up the protien ($11 a bag AntlerMax) and luckly we got 7" rain about 3 weeks ago. Should be another great year for horns!

The best knife that I ever had was a K-Mart Sharp brand knife. I could get it sharper than any other knife I had before or since and it would really hold an edge. I know that K-Mart doesn't have a knife factory so it was obviously made by a knife maker under contract. I am curious as to who it was.
The best thing about it was that it cost $10 new. I kept it for several years and finally lost it. I have had many high dollar brand name knives and most of them were very good but I have never found one that could outperform that old Sharp knife. It was probably made by Gerber, Puma or some other well known knife company and the same blade with their name on it probably ran about $30 way back then but the same knife without their name on it was $10 retail at Wal-Mart.
Now get your story down TVC - was it K-Mart or Wal-Mart! PS -going to fill up the protien feeders this weekend - again.

im gonna be fishing in a tourn. out of caney creek this weekend and was wondering what kind of action has been happening on that end of the lake i havent fished rayburn in about a month and when i did i was on the south end. any advice would be helpful. i know the fish are close to spawn if not already started. Was just wondering?
Fish should be on beds by now. Caney Creek is mid lake and you shouldn't have to travel much at all. Get some good sunglasses and keep your eyes on the banks. Good luck and let us know how it went!

They must have grown after the Vidor game. I was there and they were that big. Livingston did have a couple of big boys, but the biggest one didnt even play until the 4th quarter when there was an injury. He wasnt very good just big.
Corey Dickerson • 6-8 • 315 • OL • Livingston, Texas (Livingston HS) - thats pretty big - signed with SFA
I said they had a couple guys that were big but not that good. At 6'8" 315lbs the best he could do was SFA. Doesnt sound like a world beater to me. One big player doesnt make the whole team big.
"best he could do was SFA. Doesnt sound like a world beater to me" - you gotta be kidding Yeoj - how old are you?
New Caney's new district!

NC had a very young team last year - should bring plenty experience this year - may do OK.
