This might be the year. Should be a great game.

The Sims cousins are terrific. Heard them say the quarterback was considering playing at Rice basically for the education he will receive. Smart young man.
-
Perhaps the third time is the charm. With his talent a smaller school will probably take a chance on him and hopefully he will change and take advantage of the opportunity.
Beechnut, you're right, the Yankees are not the Rays. They're not as good, and the Rangers matchup better against them. If the Rangers pitch as well as they did against the Rays, the Yankees will have trouble manufacturing runs like the Rays were capable of doing. Still, they ARE the yankees. I'm calling this series a tossup: I expect it to go at least 6 games, maybe 7.
You are exactly right. Neither team hit well the last couple of weeks of the season but the Rays were able to manufacture runs to where as the Yankees could not therefore enabling the Rays to win the East. -
I heard on ESPN Radio this morning that Hughes was going to be the game 2 starter.
-
If they pitch like they did in the divisional series, Rangers in 6. Hunter was the only one who didn't pitch well and you have to figure that Young and Hamilton will start to pick it up at the plate.

Zebra, FYI, I officiate from 3 to 6 Little Dribbler games every Saturday during their season and have not taken a dime from any league in 3 years. So in reply to your remark, yes I do think it is a good idea.
Well like teeboan said earlier, we had our TASO meeting tonight. We do not discuss STJFL or other little league football organizations in our meetings. We are trained on UIL rules and mechanics for sub varsity and varsity games. After the meeting several officials had comments about postings on this site. Do not be suprised when STJFL loses several senior officials that have been calling these games for years and will be starting this Saturday. We put up with more BS from coaches and parents at this level than we do on the varsity level. And at that level the coaches jobs are on the line and we do not even get near the flack we receive on Saturday's. Just like Teeboan said earlier I might start just spending time with my family who appreciates instead of getting ridiculed all day. We have a very strong organization and stand behind each other and I will hate to see parents officiate their games (on the other hand I might enjoy it, and just see if they know all the rules and can see everything that takes place on the field). The only other officiating chapter close to hear is in Houston and they have three times jr league football organizations than our area and pretty sure they will not travel this far for the amount of money we get paid. Like I said on other post, we do not do this for the money, we do it because we want to teach the kids rules and sportsmanship of the game. This is our HOBBY! I hope this does not get to ugly with our officials because I enjoy watching these kids grow and learn the game of football.
So you donate the money back to the league?

It might. :D If it does who gets the advantage?

Tiger05 please do not get them started on the mud again. WOS will just be to much for OF to handle this year.

Coming in to last Friday night I honestly thought Buna had a chance of beating Anahuac. I could not have been more wrong. They came in and physically dominated a team that was supposed to be big and physical. Their team speed on both sides of the ball was also very impressive. Buna could do nothing against their run defense. I have not had the chance to see EC in person, but I would be suprised if they were as fast and physical as Anahuac's defense.
