vidor pirates are great in football but also in baseball they have come a long way in BOTH sports yea Pirates love yall and the teams for both football and baseball Good Job on both sides

So Vidor's Head Basketball coach get a full time assistant and his second assistant coaches football? Most 4a schools around here have football coaches at both assistant jobs.

In my opinion, Coach Wedel knows his team better than anyone on this forum. He works with these kids on a daily basis and knows what each of his players are capable of doing. He also knows which combination of players gives us the best chance to win.
It is also my opinion that everyone else is entitled to their state their opinion unless that opinion belittles a player or coach. If you truly are a fan, realize that the players read this message board. No player wants to see a negative comment about his coach or teammate. Negative comments produce negative play. If you are a pirate fan be a pirate fan and let the man coach . Realize that he knows the players better than you do. If you are not a pirate fan quit saying that you are. -
Actually Cutlass, Last week we threw the ball 5 times in the first half including the first play of the game. This week we threw 2 times in the first half. You get razzed about your remarks because alot of times, they are inaccurate. You have every right to say what you want to say, please just make sure what you are saying makes sense.

Great post by goraiders. With all the terrible things that have happened in our area over the past week, its great to see someone worried more about the safety of the kids than the outcome of the game. Bothe teams are young [vidor started 7 soph on def] and both teams have a lot of class. Should be a great game. Let's all remember its a game and that we are blessed to be able to go out and watch our kids have have fun and compete.

Guys, it seems like every year people are so quick to count out coach nueman and his staff. It also seems that every year we are all saying what a great job they are doing when they make the playoffs. They have a great staff and great kids. Put this past week behind you and go get back in this thing by beating png.

LOL. Just talked to Jeff, he did not make a post. Someone is using his name. He did however say that Coach Jacks is a good Coach, teacher and role model and that he was very excited about Vidor getting such a good hire.

Thank you. I'm sure you know everything about him, like why he moved. If you don't then you need to quit bashing the new coach. If you are from Vidor, realize YOU are part of the problem. If you are not from vidor, get a new hobby. I wish Coach Jacks all the luck in the world and I look forward to next season.

Vidor had livingston and crosby scheduled in the pre season. Crosby dropped them, and the UIL put Livingston back into their distict. Those two teams along with Texas High would have been three 4A playoff programs. They filled in with a very good Kirbyville team that could not find games and Bridge City who should have a great year. I think Vidor wanted to play bigger schools just like you, it just didnt work out the way we wanted,

4 home games this year and 5 the next. 1 game each year will be nuetral with Texas High.

I have been attending Vidor games for over 10 years. I have never once heard a racial remark made by anyone. Now im sure some idiot here in Vidor has said something that has embarrassed the 99.99% of our community. We are working hard at changing the image that has been given to us by a few individuals many years ago.
It seems that every thread that has anything to do with Vidor leads to some type of racial comment. The people of Vidor today are not the people of Vidor 40 years ago. Many times I have heard racial comments directed to our players in one sport or another and I have never commented or judged that community by the ignorance of a few idiots. Please give us the same courtesy. Dont feed the fire by making comments that make all of us look bad -
mathews did not want to drop it. He was told flanigan wanted to. Mathews called flanigan and told him if Crosby needed to drop it Vidor would be ok. Flanigan said crosby would keep the game. 2 weeks later crosby dropped the game.

when mathews told him that he would drop the game, flanigan said no. 2 wks prior to crosby dropping them. Flanigan is a good guy ask him what really happened

The kkk in the 90's consisted of 4 people who drove in from mississippi. The people from Vidor protested them being their. Vidor police officers had to escort the 4 idiots safely out of Vidor. The fact is anything bad that happens racially withen 100 miles of Vidor, the people of Vidor get blamed for it. It was racially motivated go and look your school district in the face and see if you believe their answer. Or better yet let's get the 2 districts together and find out the truth. I don't blame coach flanigan or the crosby community but I do believe this sort of thing should not go unpunished.

Yea crazy he does call the plays. He also plans all wk and prob spends 80 hrs a wk doin it. You show up at the game and complain. We are all dissapointed that we lost. In sure jeff is too. Not the place to complain. Go see him and complain.

Oh yeah and I saw him tell the center to snap it over the qb s head. He definatly wanted to lose. Why don't we go ask him about it.

Yea u rt crazy. Mathews needs to go he fumbled 4 times. He jumped off sides on 4th and 2 and he missed many many tackles.

It is different than job in business. I don't think any of us want sympathy we would just like people treat us with respect. It is just a game. We teach our kids far more important things than tackling. As a parent I teach my children and players to treat all adults with repect. I don't understand how bashing an adult in front of a teenager benifits that or any other teenager.

As a coach I don't mind getting yelled at. But what abpout my wife and children who had to leave png early fri night. My children don't desrve to hear negative comments. You do have the right to your opinion. But come to our office and discuss it with us. Remember we usually spend more time with ur kids than we do our own. Just one coaches opinion
