  1. But I thought CE King was the next North Shore!!
  2. Agreed. That's my biggest thing. I just don't see them scoring 30+ points like some are wishful in thinking will happen. Tatum will have a field day, regardless of the selling out to stop the run. This season he has fully taken over. Jalen though will get his yards. He's too good of a player not to. Excited for Friday to get here.
  3. This is a game I'm glad we have coach King. He's seen it all in his time here. From Dez Bryant to Garrett Gilbert to John Hubert to Tanner Mordecai, etc etc. We've faced outstanding players over the years, but the coaches we've had to face off against is probably an even more impressive list. I fully believe King and his staff will have our boys ready to go. Y'all would be smart to take the ball to start the game. I never understood the underdog kicking it off when your offense is your strength. I expect the defense to take a series to lock things down, like they usually do, then go to work. Just glad Friday will be dry!!
  4. Tatum? He's a beast. Last season he struggled to stay healthy a sophomore. He was taking over in the playoffs, and I fully believe we beat Ryan if he didn't get injured in the 2nd quarter. DR literally could not stop him. Glad we have him back for another year. He's going to set some records at Longview before he's done.
  5. Probably top 10 there. Like you said the 2019 team just didn't feel right, but I think our view of Jesuit was a little jaded with just how much we dominated them in the past. Emmitt Smith's kid was legit and he hadn't been healthy at all that season. Then Kaden went down injured. Was just the perfect recipe for a defeat. At the end of the day, it came down to a kicker again lol. We go to OT if not for that one missed PAT in the 2nd Q.
  6. I think it's hard to beat the 2005 South Garland loss in Mesquite when we were nationally ranked at the time, believe we were #2 or #3 in 5A at the time. By far the most talent we have ever had on a single team. Chris Ivory, Vondrell McGee, Trent Williams etc etc. We were just absolutely loaded in 04 & 05. But it'd be top 2/3 for sure. I still have absolutely no idea how we lost that one to South.
  7. Longview's defense has surrendered a total of 70 points all season, 8 total in the second half (unfortunate fumble by our second team against North Mesquite with 3 minutes to go to make that doubled for the season). Crosby is back healthy and ready to go. Interested to see how the 3+ hour drive will impact the Cougars, not to mention playing in Lobo Stadium for the first time. Lobos haven't lost a home playoff game since 1984. The closest game since then was Beaumont West Brook back in 2017, a 3 score advantage. Magnolia game last season ended 21 points as well, but that game was completely dominated by Longview outside of about a 4 minute stretch to end the half. Will be interested to see what Crosby can bring that they think can attack against us. Taylor Tatum will get his yards. Jalen Hale will get his yards. I don't think the Coogs have the weapons to keep up with us to be honest, but stranger things have happened I guess. Lobo defense has allowed a total of 565 rushing yards this season, so feel like Crosby's only real plan would be to throw the ball. Excited to see a new team in person. Hope y'all bring some type of crowd.
  8. Oh come on. You know we haven't played anyone. 7-5A is so bad. Y'all's district rules all. Crosby is fully healthy and ready to take over 5A Division One like we all knew they would at the start of the season. Driving up to overrated Longview? Easy, easy work for the Cougars.
  9. Longview vs Crosby Friday, November 11th, 7:00 PM Lobo Stadium - Longview, Texas
  10. These refs are calling an interesting game to say the least.
  11. TexanLive needs to get a new announcer for y'all's district cause this guy is not it.
  12. They got 74 dropped on them due to 6 turnovers. Can't count on that every game. Agree to disagree on y'all's district being better from top to bottom, especially at the bottom with the Baytown schools. As bad as our 7th place team is, West isn't losing to any of those Baytown schools like your district champion did. Still, if you stop their star back, y'all will win the game. North started the season out hot, but has cooled considerably since district started. I saw them in their first two games in person then again later in the season against Tyler, and even then the change was considerably noticeable. PAM should win this by a couple scores, but don't let them hang around or play down to them (as the Titans have shown this year) because they're more than capable.
  13. Ahhh that makes a lot of sense. Good on the Spartans.
  14. Has there been no talk of Barbers Hill/New Caney Porter moving their game up? We could have this whole thing settled going into tomorrow if they did.
  15. Man alive lol. You definitely need to go back and rewatch if you didn't see the dropped picks. King is more than known to mix in the veer into the game plan. He loves talking about it every time he does in the post game shows. And I do hope you load the box. It'll be a fun day for sure. I can tell you one thing, Crosby ain't scoring 30 on us. Literally have had 8 points scored against our defense in the entire second half (had a fumble returned for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter against North Mesquite by our twos that makes the total 15 points for the year). If Crosby is going to beat us, it's going to be because of Lobo turnovers and Crosby draining the clock. Y'all's defense just is not anywhere near the defenses we've played already this year. Our offense might not be the most elite thing out there (it's still pretty dang good), but our defense is elite. But like you said, guess that's why they line it up. Excited to welcome y'all to Lobo next week if it happens.
  16. This is incorrect. Barbers Hill has not clinched a playoff seed, and Crosby has not clinched the #4 seed. Barbers Hill sits at 5-2, Crosby sits at 4-3 and New Caney Porter sits at 4-3. New Caney Porter faces off against Barbers Hill to end the season. Assuming Crosby doesn't fall flat on their face in the finale, they'll finish at 5-3. If they do lose, then BH has to beat NCP for the Cougars to get in. But like I said, assuming they don't, it comes down to the Spartans and the Eagles. If Porter wins, we'll have a three way tie at 5-3. Barbers Hill only beat Crosby by one point. Crosby beat New Caney Porter by 5. So it sits at Crosby +4, Barbers Hill +1, New Caney Porter -5. Basically New Caney Porter just needs to win by 4 to get into the post season. Then Crosby would finish 3rd (head to head over New Caney Porter), New Caney Porter would finish 4th and Barbers Hill would be out. I have no idea what happens if NCP wins by 3 and it ends Crosby +4, Barbers Hill -2, New Caney Porter -2. I would assuming the Spartans would get in due to head to head at that point but not going to assume on that scenario.
  17. Y'all talked all off season long how easy this district and division is going to be, lol. Come on man.
  18. lol. Excited to see our boys have some fun with that "defense", let's just say that. Hope y'all make the trip, so we can wave across the way.
  19. That might've been the worst prevent defense I've ever seen by a football team. Crosby waving to La Porte's side just...lol. Can't wait for two weeks after seeing that classless display.
  20. That was probaby the worst onside kick I have ever seen attempted.
  21. Two things I don't like about this announcer that is down there (he seems to do most of the games) He doesn't give the times, and there's literally no message about what's happening during a delay.
