1. If I remember right Woodard has a potential bonus tied to attendance.  I believe that may have been what drove him to make that comment.  I almost didn't go to the game because of rain and the fact that I could sit at home and watch the game. If it wasn't for my friend who reminded me that we did it for Lee we could do it again.  If not for him I would have stayed on my comfortable couch and not risked getting wet.  I believe the potential for rain and the game being televised are the top two factors that kept fans away.  I think the last paragraph of the article is the best.  I hope we haven't gotten to that point already.
 2.
awesome...now lets get em a stadium built!
Put them in Vincent Beck and build a new field for the men, one with showers for the visitors.
 3.
then why show the lower level of talent anyway? Typical SETX way of thinking. Very poor judgement. Congrats to Lamar on the win though. A win is a win.
Why show college football on TV at all?  The NFL has a higher talent level, except for the refs.

You play ULL then PVAM Play Hawaii then Langston. Play a tough one you have no chance in and then play a cupcake. What has this team learned in their first three games? What did we learn fans want to see their team win. So schedule easy games at home when you can.

I don't know about you, but I like to see my team grow during the early part of the season and compete come conference time. Beating PVAM and Langston by 30 points and then losing to SHSU and SFA by 40 is not helping this team. I would like to think by yerar 3 this program is a little further along than they are. It's year three and we still are playing NAIA and Div II teams. Woodard is looking for cheap wins, but these blow out losses are about to catch up to him.
Every school in the Southland except Southeastern has a game against DII or NAIA school this year.  There programs have been around longer than three years.  Nicholls State has a game against LA Valley College a Juco. McNeese played McMurry DII Central Arkansas plays Bacone College NAIA Sam Houston played Incarnate Word DII Northwestern played Arkansas-Monticello DII SFA played Southwestern Oklahoma DII
They have 1 game on their schedule, how many does Lamar have on theirs? PVAM Langston McMurry If we did have ULL and Hawaii already for this year, we would have proably had more. All Woodard is doing by playing these schools is padding his overall record. I would hope by year 3 we would be little further along than still playing langston each year.
PVAM is FCS Lamar has twelve games this year.  Every other team in the Southland has eleven.  Instead of taking a week off they chose to play another game at home and take advantage of the good attendance and make some money.  Sounds like a smart move to me.

 6. Constant pressure by the defense the PV QB never had much time to throw.  I'm not sure of the auctual number of sacks but had to be close to 6.
 7. Bad Santa was right the game wasn't close.  31 to ZIP.  LU. with all of that offensive firepower PVAM didn't make it to the red zone.  Great job Cardinal D.
 8. I do think the defense is better this season even though the scoreboard does not show it.  The offense put them in a bad spot often in the first half.  The offense looks to be a weakness on this team.  The RB's seamed to be the only bright spot.  Even the ULL broadcasters commented on how Lamar looked set there.  The O Line needs some work.  The OT's were getting beat on most passing plays.  I was surprised that LU did not go deep more often.  But that could be explained by ULL playing two deep on the safety's which I could not see online.  I can't blabecause you cantme the coaches for the fumbles but taking timeouts because you can't get the plays in pn time is all on them.
 9.
Chatanooga? When did we play them?
Lamar had an NIT game at the Montagne.  I don't remember much except that LU lost in OT I think.
 10.
Incarnate Word would be a  better pick up than HBU---I've read they are wanting to join the SLC in a couple of years [Hidden Content] -they are wanting to move up -have nicer facilities--nothing enormous, but nice -major growth in last decade , up to 8,000 undergrads -Owner of the N.O. Saints is a major booster -they actually have fans
Another thing the SLC should have considered is Texas A&M CC.  Their closest home games are now Sam and Lamar.  Every road game is a long bus ride.
 11. I'm sure the fartknocker commit that cut the deepest.  :'(

If we lose to Nicholls State who is winless in conference and 1-8 on the season with their only win against Evangel University there are going to be some unhappy Prewitt fan's.
No matter the outcome there will be unhappy Prewitt fans.
Why do you say that?  It makes no sense.  I am NOT a bevil fan.  Prewitt earned the right to be the starter going into the year.  However, dim whiten and Woodard went with bevil.  I was ready to bench bevil again until his performance in the first half against central arkansas, he was great.  But, for some reason, he pulled a bevil and didn't play the second half.  Anyway, back to your dumb post, if Prewitt plays and we win then there will be happy Prewitt fans.  If bevil plays and we win I will likely still be hAppy.  If we lose, I won't be happy regardless of who the ab is.
I say that because if Bevil starts all of the Prewitt faithful are going to be upset.  And that isn't "DUMB" that is a fact.  There will be post put on this board that Prewitt should of had the chance to start against Nicholl's.  If Bevil is the Southland player of the week, like he was against SE, it will not change anything.  A certain number of people want Prewitt to start no matter what.  When you have someone post during the game how dumb the offensive coordinator is for calling QB draws, then you have a bias.  To me it looks like OC had a reason to call draws.  I'm sure Witten knew he was outmatched up front and had to do something to get the defense off balance.  To slow down a pass rush you use screens and draws.  I'm sure he knew his QB would not have time to sit in the pocket, which is evident with the nine sacks LU gave up. It was also implied that I wanted Prewitt to fail.  Nothing could be further from the truth. I have NEVER said anything negative about any of the players on here and I NEVER will.  All of these young men CHOSE to come to Lamar and represent our university.  For that I am very thankful.  The young men that continue to have bad things said about them all have family in this area.  I'm sure their family members have read some of this stuff (I wanted to put BS here so bad  ;D ) on here and are not pleased.  You also have to think about future Kelly, Silsbee, and WO-S recruits that read this.  Do you think they believe there former teammates contributions are appreciated? I do not deal with these young men almost everyday.  I am not at every practice.  I am not in the field house to see who is lifting weights and who is lifting a game controller. Therefore I put my trust in the people who are and let them make the decisions.  Because it is their JOB that is on the line not mine. All I want is for Lamar to be successful. And posting negative statements about local recruits is not the way to do it. For all of the young men and women who choose Lamar, THANK YOU.
So what?  It is relative.  They should recruit a little better talent than us but they should also have a little (Lot) tougher conference schedule than us.
They have a WEAK schedule compared to Lamar. (Again apples to apples) USA's schedule. West Alabama D2, Lamar FCS, NC State FBS, Kent St. FBS, UTSA FBS FIRST YEAR!!, Tenn. Martin FCS,Georgia St. FCS2nd year, Henderson St D2, Miss Valley St. FCS,CAL Poly FCS, So USA has played THREE schools on their level.  One of the schools UTSA is in its first season. Of the schools on their level they beat ONE UTSA in overtime.  Boy it sure sounds like the grass is greener over there. So far that is exactly what Lamar has done with the win over SE.  The FCS schools that USA has played would be like Lamar playing D2 schools.  And the D2 schools would be compatible to NAIA schools for LU.  If Lamar were to play a schedule like this the board would be full of comments about how weak the schedule is.  So what is it going to be WINS or Competition.  Hear are the ranks of the FCS schools that USA played provided by AL.com [Hidden Content] Lamar 90 Tenn Martin 64 Georgia St. 104 Miss Valley St. 125 Cal Polly 28 Lamars FCS schedule SE La. 88 Northwestern 20 TX St 33 Central Ark 12 Sam 4 SFA 34 Nicholls St 99 McNeese St. 43 How do you think USA would have done against #4 Alabama , #12 Penn State, and #20 Georgia Tech Like I said before if you want to compare look at Georgia State.  But you don't want to do that.  Because then you don't have anything to complain about.
