Congratulations to Nederland.... Really enjoyed my first trip to Bulldog Stadium last night... When they sound the bells before they come out, it's electric in there....
Good luck in the playoffs.... -
You won't find a team that will lay down on senior night regardless of what's at stake....
Vidor will win this game, although I don't buy into the idea that it's because Mays is out.... Vidor is a good football team, and they lost to the hottest team in Southeast Texas last night (PNG).... Don't give up on Livingston because with Collins and Antonio White back there for the Lions, they are still tough to stop.... -
Jasper vs. Chapel Hill is already set for 17-3A and 18-3A, so this is for playoff seeding essentially....
Rusk will be the top seed in 17-3A DII, Athens should be the second seed....
I think Kirbyville will get the win and move on!!! -
Looking forward to today's show! Big night of games in Southeast Texas, with lots of teams needing wins to stay alive, while other teams need wins to seal the deal!!!!
-
Boy they don't come much bigger than this..... Nederland trying to wrap up the district championship at home, while the Panthers come in needing a win to keep their playoff chances alive.... Can this Nederland defense continue to dominate against the high powered Ozen offense? Can Ozen slow down Raines and Benjamin?
Tune in tonight, it will be fun!!!! -

The only thing I disagree with is West Hardin losing in the 1st round. Based on the information I've looked up, I think the Oilers match up pretty well with Thrall & Moody. Time will tell.
Thanks for your predictions!

The Thrall/West Hardin game was the one toss up to me in the first round.... Hope the Oilers can win that one though!!!! -
REY is the weather affecting the game?
West Brook going to have to speed up the tempo to get the 15 point win huh? -

I'm excited to see the Buccaneers tonight, even though it's on the internet and I'll have to listen to Mike!!!!
Buna needs this one, but EC can all but lock up an undefeated district season with the win.... -
Bertrand I agree with, and while Bolinger has done well, I'd have to think long and hard about Jakobi Jones of Ozen or Antonio White of Livingston....
-
Get it done Bruins!!!!

I would think Hemphill would appeal this decision on having to forfeit the Groveton game, or it this cut and dried? Wonder who brought up the question of residence.....
[/quote]
This is strictly speculation but I heard a "higher up" from SA brought it to attention because the kid is from SA originally and is related to someone SA. I guess SA was more worried about HH than HH about SA! JMO

Just because you say it's "strictly speculation" doesn't mean it's alright to just repeat it.... And then you throw your opinion to the end of it....
San Augustine is not near as worried about Hemphill as Hemphill should be about San Augustine!!!! -
Without Percy against Memorial, I was pleased with how everyone else, mainly Stump, stepped up and put them in position to have a chance to win....
I hope that with Percy back they continue to mix it up and create opportunities for all the play makers.... -
Eagles soar over the Panthers in this one...
-
San Augustine will win this game with DEFENSE.....
Wolves 41-20 -
EC wins this one big
-
West Brook 42, Channelview 24
Bruins are better than what people give them credit for these days.... -

Something personal? No, not at all... I look at facts... And I look at the fact that Diboll went to Rusk, when Rusk had not won a single game, and got it handed to them 53-0.... Rusk is not a real good football team.... Kirbyville may not be either, but the fact of the matter is that I have no reason to pick Diboll to beat them....

I'm torn on this one.... I think the Mustangs are playing so well defensively that they are making up for any offensive struggles.... However, Silsbee's offense, when completely healthy, is as explosive as anyone else in Southeast Texas.... It's a home game as well for the Tigers, and I think when the night is over with....
WO-S gets it done.... -
In the last two weeks the Ozen offense has been anemic and seems to have lost its identity.... However I agree that if they can get it rolling tonight and pull off the upset at home that they will be a different group in Nederland....
However, if they can't get this thing figured out, Nederland and their defense is not who they want to see in Week 9....
I think Nederland wins it regardless and wraps up a share of the district title.... -
This game should be one of the better games in Week 9.... I like Vidor in the contest because of their defense.... PNG obviously has a few offensive weapons that can break big plays, but with the Pirates controlling the clock and limiting the offensive possessions for PNG, the chances of them breaking one go way down....
I think both of these teams will end up in the playoffs, but I'll take Vidor in Week 9!
