There's not much good to say about that game last night.... Defensively, it was not very good at all.... Grace beat SA with basically the same play all night long, either the Zone Read or the Screen Pass.... San Augustine is going to be just fine, Grace had more size, was well disciplined and they can score points.... Grace will have a chance to compete for a State Championship in TAPPS....

Hopefully a season that ends in Cowboys Stadium kicks off for the Wolves tonight as they travel to take on the Grace Community Cougars in Tyler... I'll be there ready to see what San Augustine has up their sleeve.... Interesting matchup as the Wolves bring in lots of athletes against a defense that struggled at times last year, while the Grace offense throws it around pretty well and the Wolves defense will have to be ready.... I'll take San Augustine by a score of 34-24

Hey guys, just an update on what's going on in my life, it's been a crazy last 10 days or so... On August 13, we got a phone call from our bosses telling us we were shutting down and we all needed to find more work... I attempted at that point to look for a few different other options for myself to be able to make money....  I had two solid opportunities (I thought) and both required me to work later on Fridays than I was used to, and would stop me from working BISD games.... Meanwhile, at a Rusk scrimmage, I was approached about doing their games on the radio.... Those two things combined led me to agree to do that... I talked with Jordan last Wednesday I believe and told him the situation.... He told me that he had not spoken with BISD and to go ahead and pursue Rusk.... And as I told Jordan, the only gig that would take me away from SETX is Rusk, and it fell into my lap.... However, both job opportunities I had lined out fell through and I was left scrambling.... Last Saturday afternoon I was contacted about a work possibility in Cambridge, Ohio.... Given my situation and the necessity for a paycheck, I am now leaving on Saturday morning for Cambridge, Ohio and I will work four weeks away and then come home for a few days, then repeat.... I apologize in advance that I will more than likely be no help, however if needed I would be willing to help out Todd with whatever he needs on Friday nights if I am available.... I know you guys work your asses off to make this what it is, and I play a pretty insignificant part, and I feel like I'm letting you down by not being able to help out more... Hopefully I will not be out of state for long!!!

It was my understanding from Jordan from our conversations the last couple of weeks that he has not talked with Dr. Saveat.  When I talked to Jordan yesterday, his new sales guy (whoever that may be) has not pursued anything within BISD either.

I'm not going to speak about pride or tradition, because honestly, we live in a what have you done lately world, and H-D has done nothing.... But I will say that Josh Finney is the man to bring out anything and everything that is inside those boys and get them to play above their heads.... Will it be good enough? Who knows.... But he will get more out of them than you expect.... I've seen first hand what he did at Maud with a football doormat and it's a similar situation to H-D....

Had this conversation with the girlfriend tonight.... What happened to Gabby Douglas in the event finals? You would think that the lady who wins the All-Around Gold would fare better.... I personally think she is mentally and physically exhausted.... To compete at the Olympic level that many consecutive days with that kind of pressure has to be getting to her at only 16 years old.... She has had a great Olympics, but people won't remember it as well as they should because of the beam and bar finals.... Aly Raisman on the other hand has been phenomenal the entire time!!!

Remember that Lithuania team that almost knocked off this GREAT 2012 team???? They got ousted from the Quarterfinals today by RUSSIA!!!! Another example of why that 2012 team wouldn't hold 1992's jock...

The style of basketball in 1992 is so much different than today... The young kids today could not take the physical beating they would take inside from Malone, Barkley, Ewing and Robinson.... Throw out Christian Laettner, but of the other 11, Scottie Pippen was arguably the worst player on the team... He is a Hall of Famer... The 2012 team has guys like Iguodala and Harden, who are nice players, but not even close to Hall of Famers.... The argument of athleticism is not a good one.... Michael Jordan was as good or better of an athlete as anyone... He would not defend Jordan, and neither would Kobe.... I'm telling you, the 1992 team is at least 15 points better, if not more....

Did the Dream Team have to squeak by a much weaker team like the 2012 team did today??? The Original Dream Team would spank the current bunch....

Back to back weeks on the road against Navasota and La Marque? Kudos to Coach Barbay for having the testicular fortitude to do that!!!

Even though there is only one returning starter on that offense, with all of the injuries as well as rotation, a lot of guys saw time last year on that offense... Hervey and Wycoff had key roles at times and some of those younger guys like Clack got some valuable experience... I don't think this offense will set records, but they have potential in my opinion...  Only time will tell...
