So he based his whole game plan really on one player. And taking what I saw last year and have read or been told about said player he should have known there was a good chance of him being in foul trouble. So sounds like he made a big mistake himself. I saw on twitter a post Mitch had of his second foul the putback over Devon’s back. He had many comments even from a couple that should have been biased that it was a missed call. I didn’t see it that way. Dev was already under the basket sure Mitch went up over him but his body went thru Dev thus the foul and I was about as close as you can be. But playing into his tendencies he went down and was over aggressive 10 secs later on the other end and picked up #3 before Wise even had a chance to pull him. That was Mitch’s big mistake.

I was thinking in this case that depth may have hurt Yates a little. We ran all year mainly with 8 or 9 guys in the bigger games...getting our 8 or 9 in better and better shape. Their main guys didn’t play as many minutes if they used that depth all the time....so they may have tired out quicker. As deep as they were those towards the back end we’re definitely not going to be a match for our top 8 or 9.

No neither were really too bad especially Sportsjunkie. Nothing wrong with backing your team. Bayou City rubbed me the wrong way a little more. But some of these little remarks in my mind occurred throughout the season. So I have to poke back!

Mainly Bayou City but I have read all these remarks about how deep Yates was and how they were going to run Silsbee to a loss and other little snide remarks...yet I haven’t heard a word from either of you since about 2:30 today! Where r y’all at?????

That’s just based off the brackets but will not know until probably tomorrow at the earliest. The uil bracket is done by max preps that’s why they match. We have this same discussion every year.

It’s not decided by the bracket. It’s decided by putting the 2 with the best records which will be Carter and Somerset unless I am mistaken. Then they draw the other 2 to see who they play.

You just hit the nail on the head. I was going to post about The Heart of a Champion but have been driving. That’s where this game was won. All of these Tigers have plenty of it. But this time it’s time to talk about the sophomore. Bush showed more heart than you could imagine. I told several including his Dad that he gave all he had as well as all I had and my wife and daughter as well. He scored 40 in this one and 64 in the 2 games. Barnes 15 pts and 10 rebounds a big presence inside. And Devon playing floor general today getting to the basket at ease 33 pts 8 boards and 8 assists. He was big, every time we needed a basket there he was at the rim. Jordyn with 18 5 rebs and 5 assts. along with Landyns 8 pts and 6 boards and Martins 6 pts. These guys played hard and hungry. Like has been said Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion!

No it was just adogfight until that last quarter.

This is the X factor to me. If we handle him inside or get him out of the game with fouls we will have a big edge. If we let him control things we are going to have a big battle. Either team could win in either case but take his size out and I like it a lot better.

Could be that is often a factor. One thing these Tigers are used to running....

This win showed the Tigers heart. Come out firing on all pistons right out of the gate. Get a nice little lead and then watch Connally fight right back and give us all we wanted and then some. But these Tigers never give up and kept battling and finally took over in that fourth quarter. Way to go guys! Now you can focus on that battle that everyone has been wanting to see.

Heck we pretty much had one of those tonight!!!!!
