If HJ and La Vega remain undefeated or both win their disticts and keep winning in the playoffs it would set up a great regional semi.

A few other interesting 3A facts: currently there are 5 districts with two teams ranked,  one of those has three(12-3A) with #5 Dallas Madison, #6 Carrolton Ranchview and #11 Wilmer Hutchins,  Region 2 has the most ranked teams with 8,  Region 1 the least with 5, the other two regions each have 6.  If our district ends up as most expect with HJ on top and Silsbee second,  and Navasota and Sealy both win their districts ,  the Tigers would once again have a possible second round matchup with Sealy and HJ would once again matchup with Navasota in the third round.  Familiar faces through different routes than the last times.

I couldn't fault either them or HJ as being number one. Being undefeated they both have good claims.  It makes for an interesting rest of the season.

Just thought it interesting in a couple of scores I viewed. Both of these were posted within a day of each other. One had Waco La Vega Beating Bowie by 9 pts. A score posted the next day had Bowie beating Navasota 64-28. This was only 4 days after Christmas so some players could have been out.  Can't really compare outcomes but that makes La Vega even more impressive.

[/quote] I don't think Barnes played much if at all in that game either,  he may have been nursing an injury.  Was told he was seen limping a bit.  definately wasn't the same rotation,  I had seen in the last few games before Christmas.

I thought it was about then.  No wonder I don't remember too much,  I was only 12.

What was the last year of that rivalry,  I can remember being there but was young enough not to remember much more.  I do remember hearing something about fights among fans after the game.

I can't remember any of these games the last several years that weren't memorable.  There have definately been some great games,  I hope this year can live up to the past.  The atmosphere alone makes these games memorable.  That is one of my favorite memories,  it is actually a game the Tigers lost.  It was the final district game two years ago.  The Tigers already had the distict title having beaten HJ at home and HJ losing to WOS.  Late in the game HJ's fans were chanting at Silsbee because they were going to win.  The Tiger fans started a "District Champs!!"  chant of their own.  The looks on the faces of some of the players and fans when they realised what that chant was was priceless!!  I have to say that I always want my Tigers to win but after watching both these teams and their players grow up over the last few years it is hard to see either team lose.  Well,  real hard when its the Tigers and a tiny little bit when its the hawks.. ;D ;D

I did hear from the administration today that all the tickets have been sold except for the 10 allotted for HJ fans..they will be available friday at the school starting at 4 AM. :)

You get a certain number of points for every inch taller you are.

Make sure you make HJ the full 20 pt favorite against the Tigers or you will hear about it!

That outcome isn't a big surprise to me. It may be a little more lopsided than I would giant l have thought. I am sure many of Madison's losses are to some of those strong Dallas teams.
