That could be a concern but as long as these kids have played together I am not sure how big a factor that oils be. Now kind of on the same line though is how rusty he could be and being his right hand How much does it still bother him while playing i.e. Strength or pain. I think there is hope he might make it back as soon as the first week of the playoffs, not sure how strong those first teams we may face could be but it could give him time to get ready for bigger games.

Very true. I think though the talk is more on the level of his play.

As far as his play, it's hard for me to say a kid his caliber wouldn't fit on at least a low level d1. if for no other reason than a situational player. Lots of these teams have players that average just a few minutes a game. His shooting alone should warrant that with someone.

If his grades are good he will become eligible the day before the game in sour lake.

Haven't seen him play but to say someone is a top player in the state takes more than just a fans opinion.

No there is no excuse for what happened and yes the mouthing back and forth played a part. But that is one issue and even though it may have incited someone to the point of this attack, in no way does that warrant a physical attack. That's why I placed a previous post about hoping something was learned from this. I can say I have never had a big problem of some fun trash talk during a game but it tends to go overboard these days.

Coaches were there but one had already gone to the bus and the other two were scattered somewhere among 35 or so kids. He wasn't by himself but they came from behind him running past a couple players who didn't realize what was happening until it did. I think those that throw out the racist talk are remembering past events from town. Absolutely nothing to do with this. Now as far as dismissing at different times, if you are talking Jaspers team and ours I am not sure they were let out as it wasn't Jaspers team that was involved. As far as our team and the fans, our team didn't exit for at least 20 minutes but a large group still remained outside.

I will say this and only this....racism should not even be mentioned in this instance.

I didn't see the start but have been told by those involved and some not involved that that wasn't the case. Unless there is constant security footage I would not trust anything else. Cell phone cameras may have caught some of this but it would be after it started.

I know, and we could have come our alongside and there we would have been with a 2 year old in the middle of it. Bad enough when it's guys you have been watching for years, have a kid in it and it gets real bad real quick.

There wasn't enough present for the situation for sure and I wasn't right on top of it when it started. I was told by one player who was in the rear of the varsity and wasn't one really involved maybe at all, that the guys that started all of this ran from behind him and acted like he wasn't even there and at tacked Mike. I would imagine the coaches had already gone by and were nearer the front of the group. Not sure whe else adult wise was in the immediate area. In hindsight sure more could have been there and you can say this or that could have been done. In defense there has not been any incidents like this, so you don't see a need to send more people or change the way you have been doing things. I do know there definitely needed to be more of a response once we got the players back to the buses as far as keeping the buses and players from being approached.

I know there will be improvements, just not sure how much more could have been done when exiting in this case besides one more adults and having someone make sure that the parking lot was clear. I can say that last night there were more officers from each side and that WOS gym has side doors that the buses were pulled right up to leaving only about 20 or 30 feet to traverse. I can say one thing I still noticed maybe 15 minutes after the game, there was still a large group of kids outside the gym. I am sure a lot were waiting on rides but that is the same kind of scenario as last Friday. We just didn't have to walk through them this time. As far as the friction that was present between WOS and Silsbee I didn't see any evidence of it remaining. No real friction in the game and I didn't see any afterwards. The only negative I can say at all is how little room their is for visitor fans.

I am not quite understanding this. Was this from a Silsbee kid or Jasper. From this statement it would sound like Mike and Bruce were the ones to start swinging first. I have been told by more than one that the first physicality was a sneak attack on Mike. And yes no Jasper bball players were involved. I knew it all started with football.

This was a good game for the Tigers adjusting to playing now without Michael McCain and arguably their best all around player. Wos's athleticism and long range shooting kept them in it in the first half. The Tigers depth and pressure took over in the second half.
