2.

Defense has been real consistent all year. Seen most games, but not all. Jacobs shows 7 errors, Roberts 6 errors, and more at other postions, even in the outfield. By and large the Cubs are known for their defense. You must also credit that some infield grounders that Jacobs and especially Roberts get to are not playable for most others, but because they get to it, they can be charged with errors.   According to your competitors, they come in knowing you have a solid defense,  believe me, more importantly up the middle and your firstbaseman. But the true achilles heel for the Brenham boys is now and always has been BASE RUNNING. The theory that I have subscribed to explained by the Bandito guru's is they play "little league" and are 4 years behind select ball players on lead offs, reading pitchers, and getting jumps. After watching enough games I believe they are correct. Those small things will beat you in big games against good teams. I witnessed a defense lapse for the first time this year, but baserunning has been constantly shaky. Constatntly see hesitation and unsuredness, and they have been known to run themselves out of innings. I'll never forget listening to games on the radio where a runner at first breaks on the first movement (a one way go) and the lefty tosses back to first and the runner is already closing in on second and the announcer says it was a pick off that failed. No, that was a designed play to draw the throw, but selectplayers learn that at 10. Those are stolen bases, even if the firstbaseman throws it away. Base running almost cost the Cubs every game this weekend, not just one bad defensive inning.
Sorry - Ray  deLeon is all bluster on this one. My kid played LL and he is an excellent baserunner, as are most of our kids who played LL. One of the kids who has gotten picked off the most on our team has played the most Select ball, no LL for years. And if anyone thinks the Brenham kids with their baseball savvy can not figure out how to run the bases by starting with leadoffs at 13 years old, you are not using the noggin! Next Theory. Geez do not fall for the Deleon only select players from age 6 can be great complete players bunk! Besides - the Banditos want your money!!
Ray DeLeon has has more baseball knowledge in the dirt if his fingernails than 99.9% of the goof balls posting on this board.
 3.
Yes Nederland should feel so good about themselves for not passing a bond, it was such the right thing to do. That why these schools are wrong so wrong and these students will suffer from there bond being passed, WOW 2 passed since 2006, PNG (good god why would you want your kids in a brand new JR, and elementary schoos, BISD, Port Arthur way to nice of a High School, etc too many to count.   Smitty is so right let never build anything nice in NEderland, no to extra curricualar activities, school 7 days a week for 10 hours a day.  Lets have the lowest tax rate in Jefferson county O wait we already do.
After reading that quote, it seems to me Nederland needs to build a state of the art English/Grammar lab.

Not to mention the things that weren't said but implied and most of you know exactly what I mean.
Sadly, I have to disagree.  I do not harbor one bit of regret for what I posted on this thread.  The information I received was rock solid and the conclusions that I made were reasonable and, I can say now, shared by many in the coaching fraternity as well as among alumni and taxpayers in the WO-C CISD.   Were the conclusions incorrect?  Yes and I can tell you no one is more thrilled that I was wrong than I am!  The children and community that is the West Orange-Cove Consolidated have seen a step taken with those programs that indicate a commitment to achievement and excellence. Congratulations to Coach Thompson on his appointment as head football coach of the West Orange-Stark Mustangs and athletic director of the WO-C CISD and good luck for years to come and congratulations to Mr. Colbert on recognizing the excellence required to keep the football program on the path of achievement and executing on that recognition.
Sadly I have to disagree. How in the world can you say the information was rock solid. That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Not one thing happened the way you said/thought it was going to happen. I'm just an insurance agent but if that is rock solid evidence then I'm in the wrong business. Like I said, too many negative things were said and the man was never given a chance to do the right thing. I regret your statements not only for you but for the community that was stirred up and why? For no reason at all. No hard feelings we just see things completely different on this matter.
If a superintendent of any school district gets his feelings hurt from a sports message board than he is in the wrong line of work. The WOS super just like every other superintendent in texas has much more to worry about than what a few local yocals (no offense, I am a Nederland local yocal ;) ) have to say an any message board. With that being said, congrats to Coach T.
 14.
We have discussed this on here in the past. Unless it has changed there is no tiebreaker in this district. I believe all ties are settled with a play off game. Someone please correct me if this is wrong.
I thought there is only a tiebreaker game if the two teams split during the season and end up with the same district record.

 16.
Ive been looking at this topic for the past few days and I finally have to say something. It is really hard for me to understand why so many teachers and coaches are losing their jobs. These are the people who spend a great deal of time with our youth guiding and directing them. Teaching them to do their best and not to give up when times get rough. These are in my opinion 2 of the most important lessons anyone can learn. With all the cuts going on, what is this saying to the seniors this year and to those who graduated last year who plan to become future teachers and coaches. [glow=red,2,300]It say's vote Rick "pretty boy" Perry out of office! That's what it say's![/glow]
 17. Curious, has anyone tried to get a list of the candidates through the freedom of information act?
