1. As I figured. Any idea on what the high water mark was for Silsbee? 1300-1400 would be my guess in late 70s early 80s.
 2.
When I was at Silsbee high, we had a total 1300 students while in 4A. Now being down to 822, we need some growth.
Where did you get this number.  To have this enrollment you'd have to average 325 a class. I graduated in 94 with 220 classmates.  A quick count of smiling faces in my senior yearbook yielded just a shade over 1000 students including those not pictured. (not the most accurate way I know) Did Silsbee have a large spike after I graduated or are you just grabbing numbers out of thin air?

Very good teams but lacked players that weren't afraid to mix it up a little, such as Bernard and Donahoe. Prudhomme wasn't afraid to but those other guys rattled our pgs pretty good causing turnovers.
I thought HJ's guards did a pretty good job of that last night in the 4th quarter.
Bernard's pressure was constant. Silsbee very rarely had 20+ point leads to withstand the late run.

Looks like the tide has turned in that district... 8)
For you to type "the tide has turned" would indicate the "tide" would have to be going one way then stop and go the other way. With the numbers Silsbee has 9 wins out of 12 games in the past five years and 12 wins out of 19 games since 2007 the "tide" has only been going in one direction. And everyone of the games played have been good and entertaining. There is no other game played in SETX that can bring enough fans to be played at a venue like Ford Park. In this game it's not how you win, it's what you have to go through to win.  Hardin County Havoc......
DV is correct. The tide actually has turned. Since both teams have been in same district ('07), HJ won 4 of the first 6 games played between the two. Since then, Silsbee has won 10 of 13. I would say that is turning it around. ;)
Now!! Y'all gone and did it, the HJ fans are going to remind us of there 3 state titles ;)
We don't have to, people like you keep bringing it up....Silsbee has no doubt gotten the better of HJ after 2007 as repeated on this site over and over and over and over again. With as many athletes as Silsbee puts on the floor and almost twice the enrollment it's a wonder HJ has won any at all...Way to fight Hawks, very proud of you last night...
, It's a pretty good stretch to say almost twice the enrollment, don't you think? Silsbee would have to add over 300 students to double the enrollment of H-J.  Very proud of Silsbee's multi sport athletes being able to compete with a bunch of year round basketball players.
 6.
Silsbee graduates 80% of their current varsity team, your JV is pretty good but not great.  You beat HJ by 5-6 tonight and one of their starters was moved up to varsity, two others failed and two others were at the regional swimming meet.  And HJ 9th spank your 9th grade team.  HJ only loses Harmon off of the current team that plays significant minutes.  HJ will be fine, and will compete with Silsbee just fine.  I predict an HJ win next year....in fact guarantee it!!!!
Wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in those 9th grade scores.
 7. Go back to home and home and raise ticket prices to fit the market. ;)
 8. Probably referencing Silsbee's history of losing to teams they seemingly shouldn't lose to. ie Jasper, Sealy just recently.
 9. Most of the pot stirrers either stepped on the wrong person's toes or hurt the wrong person's feelings. What they said was nonsense but was very entertaining and helped move the board on slow days. Also, I think posters from both schools have figured out that only one game is really all that important and that game is played in Huntsville. The dark cloud of Yates hanging around has also perhaps hurt expectations. More rambling, but I also feel the district's (schools') absurd decision to play the girls and boys varsity at the same venue has hurt the rivalry. And oh yeah most feel that this next game's outcome has already been decided.
 10. Not much of a game, but was fun to watch. Some pretty sweet alley oops!

 14.
The boys know who they are plating tonight and nxt week and they are not shaking in their boots about either team, yes they respect each team, but Neither Silsbee or BC is anywhere near the level WOS is on this year. So people please stop the madness with all the WOS better not look ahead and the if Silsbee plays a perfect game they will win. Truth is both Silsbee and BC will get ran off th field THIS YEAR. Silsbeen has beating WOS once in the past 7 years!!! Stop acting lik they are a contender to win state or a year an and year out great team. I have a Cnote that says BC gets shut out tonight. And I'll give Silsbee 10 points next week in a point spread for any Silsbee fan that truly believes they have what it takes this year.
I'm in for a hundred.
