I am assuming that since the Supt. does not start until April 4th she will be conducting the search for the new AD who will then conduct the search for the new HC. So it may not be until late May or June before Tarkington sees a new HC in their program. That puts those kids way behind.
-
Not against splitting the AD/HFC as long as the AD is just AD that takes a lot off of the plate of the HFC.
-
Whatever happened with Tarkington? Have yet to see a job posting for the AD/HFC spot yet?

They need to look at the HC at Kountze. They have gotten gradually better every year and they made it to the playoffs this year after a 7 year drought. I have heard nothing but great things about how he runs that program. Just my opinion.

Since I started being involved in HS sports (2010). I have been lucky enough to attend 135 games, There have been some great ones and some sleepers. HS Football at any level is fun to watch from 6-man to 6A. Can't wait to see how many more I get to be a part of.

Despite the outcome of the playoff game. Watching what Kountze did this year was pretty awesome. They haven't been to the playoffs since 2014. Congratulations to the kids on that team, the parents that support them, and the coaching staff. I don't know what they have coming up, but I wish them all the best in the future.

If I was the Kountze coaching staff I’d be be embarrassed. One word to sum them up…CLASSLESS. You can tell they are not use to winning after the way some of their coaches were acting after the game. In 15 years of being around high school football/coaching I have never seen anything like that. It’s an embarrassment to the game. The way grown adults were acting to HIGH SCHOOL KIDS is a shame and you probably shouldn’t be allowed to coach. Remember you are suppose to be a role model and teach life lessons to these kids. If you want to act like that go joking the pop Warner coaches who act like that cause they aren’t successful. Just my thoughts. CLASSLESS…if you are going to try and win football games you should learn how to win first. Kountze ISD should look into that. Embarrassing for their school that paid employees act like that after winning a game.
Just curious if you witnessed this or just hearsay?

Great Win for those kids, especially after letting Hardin slip away. Definitely a confidence builder. Interested to see how they finish non-district play, before it gets real.

I love my hometown.. but if Kountze has some “horse’s “ they aren’t losing to Hardin in OT… I’m a realist and can tell you that most likely neither team makes the playoffs. Unless one sneaks into the 4th spot. But it’s high school football and crazier things have happened
Happened to be at that game. It did not end in OT. Kountze made a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball which allowed Hardin to capitalize.

There about where expected to true fans of the sport...23 to 25 kids...18 sophomores give or take 2 as well as limited on the talent they do have and 1 win on the year. The coach is under a 1 year contract and your best players dont believe in you week in and week out... Does that answer it....
For someone who doesn't know much, you sure know a lot. Are you a true fan of Kountze? Who are the best players on that team? What makes you think the kids don't believe in him?
Since he is not the AD he is not considered an administrator and only administrators get multi-year contracts, that's why he got 1 year contract. Being a true fan I'm sure you knew that.

Guys I wouldn't argue with @SkeeterBronson. He obviously doesn't know anything and is trying to get crap stirred up...I mean he thought somebody from Kountze football this year had got offers from Alabama! 🤣🤣🤣
You got me. I feel like I did a good job.

I guess you're right, he made an observation and then stated what it looked like to him. But I guess giving your opinion is bashing. Must not have hurt anyone's feeling. I mean the former HFC is his boss.

Just listened to the interview, missed the part where he bashed the old staff, and talk bad about the weightroom. He did say the kids looked like they were going through the motions, and looked liked they hadn't been taught certain techniques, but didn't hear any call outs, you muat have the unedited version

Didn't they lose to Silsbee on a blocked FG that silsbee ran back last minute? I don't think you're giving HF enough credit. Waggoner didn't stay at 1 school for almost 20 yrs and win state titles by accident, his method works. You may be surprised next week.
Those are the same kids the other guy had and someHOWE couldn't get it done. I'm gonna say HF in a close one this year!!!

The only coach I know is Coach Joubert and that’s just from watching his basketball teams in regionals and state. Never actually spoke to him. I know how hard he coaches all sports and how bad he wants to win in everything he does. I have zero connections with any of the old staff.
Would still like to hear that interview.

From what I was told they all weren't seniors suspended....a few juniors also and yes #2 is gone and #11 also...he was kicked off the team for being bullied and standing up for himself and Coach wanted him to move to the front of the bus and he refused to move to the front so Coach dismissed him from team, and also heard his parents checked him out of school a week later.
Story I heard was him another teammate were fighting and he was asked to move to extinguish the situation and refused. I am sure there is more to the story that involved him being dismissed. I would think he would want to try and stay on the team with all of the offers he has been getting. Wasn't he offered by Alabama?

Not sure if its true but I believe there in a 5 team district so they only needed 1 win to make playoffs...any Coach would say he's making the playoffs I assume...
6 team district

Sorry guess I don't have the insider info like you do.
Would like to hear or read that interview. Sounds like you must know some of the old staff. Just curious as to whether the kids are that unathletic or was it a conflict of interest since the AD was also the Head Football and Head Basketball coach which are 2 sports that overlap if you are successful.

Not trying to poke the bear. Just curious why people and administration always think big school guys are the best fit? From my experience a lot of big school guys have not had to deal with small school situations.
