Just remember this is Dave Campbell's magazine. He picked Lumberton to finish in the bottom three of district! He got the no-brainers (see Alto) correct but missed a lot of the districts. It is still great for these kids to get mentioned on ANY all-state team.

Obviously you are not a coach, so you could join the association and help improve the quality of officials. It is pretty much OPEN to the public! Don't complain, make a change!

Reality, how bad did BS beat HD last year? It had to have been worse since HD has a better coach and more mature players from last year. ???

I love how some people are saying that the turn around is due to better coaching when all we saw on here last year was "wait til next year when these young kids are seniors and juniors" That being said, Jason is doing a great job with this talent. They should go undefeated in district because NOBODY has the athletes that hd has.

Seen on every old highlight film because of the arrow shaved on top of his head. Always heard that he was a great guy. Prayers to his family. Let this case be a reminder to all to "Buckle Up"

What a double play combo that was: Roderick and Shelton.  I know I never played against a better pair and I don't think that Ive seen one since.  What memories!

Had a chance to see Spurger play HD last night. 1st time to see him, but sheffield was like 1 of 8 or 9 from three point line. He must have been having a really bad night because most of his shots were uncontested.

Maybe most offensive coordinators stayed away from him. I remember when Danny Gorrer was a junior he had 7 or 8 int.s As a senior no one threw to his side so he had just a couple. Didn't mean that he was any less a player. Sorry if a 17 year old kid couldn't live up to YOUR expectations.

Just my 2 cents. If the district stays the same, I think it will be EC, Anahuac, and between Kountze and Buna.

First 1a game I've made this year. I was planning on going to see Spurger at half but this game was too close. HD does have the athletes but it just looked like they do not play any defense. That said, with the NBA mentality, not many high school, college or pro teams play defense.

Always the officials fault! Lose by one or lose by 20! It goes for all sports! Basketball seems to be the worse! Very few(less than 0.5%) ref's have gone into a game and said, "I am going to make all the calls against this team." They are not out there to cheat. Some may not be very good, but they are out there. Anyone can join the referee's association and prove how "noble" and "trustworthy" they are. I have yelled at my fair share of football officials from the sideline.

Perhaps Coach Stewert was too busy preparing for the playoff games to nominate everyone. You can't really blame him.

1. You normally have more selections for the playoff teams than the nonplayoff teams. 2. Coaches that finish at the bottom of the district don't want to see that they 8 first teamers and still couldn't win. 3. Coaches will not vote for anyone that they believe to be a turd. 4. Sometimes they just make mistakes!
