3. GP 3 and out....Dayton muffs punt...Jesus not again!
4. Shine all 9 baby....listening from Missouri City again this evening.
5.
The key to this game will be Broncos defense. You can't simulate speed in practice. If the Broncos can get to the QB it will be a really long night for Galena Park. If Galena Park's offense has success moving the ball, then it will come down to turnovers. I don't see the Yellow Jackets defense stopping the Bronco's offense. ALMOST GAME TIME!!! KEEP ON BELIEVING IN THE BRONCOS!!!
You can't simulate speed in practice if you don't have it...think what you meant to say was you can't simulate game speed in practice.  This game will come down to the Bronco offense....turnovers = close game.  Bronco defense has played and played well against MUCH more talented offenses than what I saw on the schooltube or whatever.  If GP has to sustain long drives all night then....well good luck with that.
6.
I have to say that I am extremely impressed that anyone caught that much less this quick!  :)
Hey great to have someone on here from GP....even if it is the Coach's son.  Welcome....you'll find a lot of good ol' trash talking, some intelligent football, and sadly some stupidity as well but a fun site regardless.
7. BH and BH kids have always played hard and showed a lot of class and in no way, shape, or form am I saying this is on the kids.  It's on the LEADER of the group.  Regardless of intent or "class shown" by not disturbing the anthem by running on the field during it (which would have meant a termination in my book) it is completely and utterly in-excusable not to be on the field to pay respect to this country and the flag.
8.

Wow!  Barbers Hill lost 54-0 and according to some showed no respect for the fallen WOS QB.  I think Coach Gage has two things working against him.  Barbers Hill stayed with the previous coach too long. The manner in which the boys were alienated by being placed on either offense or defense in jr high and never allowed to compete for the position they wanted to play.  Thus a mass exodus of talent from the program until his last season and barely more than 30 thirty players on Varsity for 4A football program.  2A programs have more players than that on Varsity. Secondly, BH is not equipped to run the flexbone.  Although I dont believe the offense gave up 54 points.  You have to recognize what abilities your players have and design an offense around them, not put the players into an offense that clearly doesnt compliment them.  A pro style passing with off tackle runs would best suit them.  Unfortunately for some, we will have to wait a couple of years until the jr high comes up into High School to see the number of kids and talent level that we have become accustom to see if Gage can be successful.
I know it wasn't going to take long before certain people would start playing the blame game and pointing fingers to the previous staff. Move on!!!! Don't know what you’re talking about leaving kids on offense or defense and not letting them compete for a job. Most all kids had to play both ways on the sub-varsities’ because we had many teams: A/B Teams; even a C team (some years) for each the 7th and 8th grade. Then you have 2 fresh teams, a soph and JV team - so I believe your complaint about kids not having a chance to play what they wanted or play either offense or defense is invalid and holds no truth. They had no choice….We also preached and based our sub-varsity programs on participation along with winning. Most kids that aren’t playing is due to the fact that they didn’t want to put in the hard work it takes to be a “Barbers Hill Football Player.” It’s so much easier going home after school and getting on the computer, playing play-station or X-box. Moving on I defended last year’s staff when people were complaining about the offense, I’ll defend this year’s staff as well. Any offense will work when it is executed: meaning PLAYERS have to block, catch, run with the ball without fumbling, run the correct routes, tackle and so forth. I’m sure these coaches are coaching our kids to do that so it’s up to them to execute. Also about missing the national anthem and the pre-game prayer and dedication, enough – in no way do I believe that was purposely done. Support the kids, coaches, program and quit complaining. Negativity breeds negativity – our kids get on here and read these post, it’s so bad for the morale of the team.
That absolutely does not matter.  There is NO EXCUSE EVER for a team to miss the National Anthem!  JMO and I will not "just drop it."
9.

I don't see Dayton making it due to lack of ball control and inability to move the ball on offense, so mine are: GP BH Crosby King ;D ;D ;D
ROFL u r such a goober
Oh heck, forgot.....Dayton's defense is weak too.   ;D
Naw....just gimmicky  :P
10.
I say if they played 10 games, PN-G would win 7 but BC would hang close in most of those. Just my two cents.
I agree with this....mainly for the Avatar though...
11. Funny thing about Karma....GP ISD was instrumental in moving Dayton out of 19-4A and sticking them in 20-4A a few years ago.  After being peeved about driving that far to games and not being able to make a few of them, it was the best thing to happen to the program in Dayton.  Something about learning to win the big game in a tough atmosphere just seemed to tranfer to the playoffs after years of seemingly being snake-bitten in the early rounds.  Regardless of the competition debate between the two districts, the atmosphere/fan support/community involvement easily goes to 20-4A.  Similar to what Matt said....GP is 4-0 and probably has a pretty good team....I'd be SHOCKED if there were 500 ppl there Friday.  Kinda like when King brought all of 37 people to a home game for the district championship 2 years ago.
12. IDK....had a hard time stopping them last year and had to hang on at the end for the W.  Of course it was 35-0 6 minutes into the game so maybe the boys had a bit of a letdown.
13. Where does the "Hill" portion come from anyway?  I guess Barber's Swampy Coastal Plain just didn't have the same ring to it???
14. Gotta disagree with you Tyrone and side with Liltex....one visit to a comat zone changes one's perspective.
15. Haha yea sorry for the hiatus....moved over here to Missouri City and finally got settled in enough to check on the scores.  Almost fell out of my chair when I saw Dayton was 0-3.  Saw game 1 against Elkins and the offense looked ok but turnovers were the undoing.  I figured they'd have it together enough to beat Angleton and/or Eisenhower.  Missed the 1st half but finally got to hear Wadzeck's call tonight right after half.  Not getting to see the boys in person anymore kinda sucks but Ripkowski sure looks like one heckuva stud.
16. Trust me I will.  The three academies all run a varied version of the spread option/wingbone and it suits them fairly well.  The reasoning from the "athletic directors" at the academies is "it's a simple offense that allows us to be effective and competetive with our limited practice time as compared to other D1 programs.  We can have an effective offense because it's all based around one play.  We feel other teams don't see this offense enough anymore to effectively scheme it with one week to prepare and we can practice a smaller number of plays and more effectively execute them."  Point is it was a good offense back in the day against less athletic front 7's but apparently doesn't work as well against "gimmick" defenses.
17. Thanks Pirate....moved to southwest Houston a month ago and haven't been on the boards.  Took me all season to come up with it.  ;)
18. Same gimmick defense they've been running for at least the last 10 years under Stewart.....really?? Please tell me someone running the wingbone wasn't downing someone else's schemes.  JoePa called and said BH was outdated.
19. 465 rushing yards for Livingston....jesus.
20. Just switched over and sounds like Livingston is getting about 15 yds/carry...where is the D in this game?
21. Let's go with Saturday first....
22. Sorry but if I wanted the LCM-LUM score I'd click on that thread.
23. Just moved here myself....too far to make the eastside games anymore >:(
