Back on topic....Lake creek plays porter this week, think they put up 50+ again? Porter I think barely beat Dayton last year. Guess we'll see if Dayton is really that bad or lake creek really that good.
Lions have 31 seniors with most of them having 20+ games of varsity experience. Tough matchup for a team learning under a new coach. Broncos have a few skill guys that can play, 21, 22, 16, 7 all pretty good players. Line has to block better for those guys but I think the new coach will get them going in the right direction.

They any closer on the head guy at Lake Creek?
Not that I have heard. Parents were told that it would be in November, but obviously that didn't happen.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking it would turn out to be. That Waco game is gonna be a drive! Not sure they don't go north towards some of the schools that are south of the DFW area. Either way its a spread out district. Not like the good ole days of playing kids that you played little league against. Hows do you think the split with y'alls schools gonna affect your teams? I know y'all were playing with some monsters up at 6A. Is the opening of Lake Creek gonna drain some of your talent away at Montgomery next year?
The talent pool will definitely be split up, I feel that most of the 2021 football talent will be at Lake Creek. Lake Creek will have 3 Sophomores playing that had Varsity experience as Freshmen on Montgomery, so that will help out. I also think that there will be some really good Juniors with Varsity experience that choose to go to Lake Creek instead of staying at Montgomery. So for the first couple of years it seems Lake Creek is set up pretty well. Montgomery has some good talent returning as Seniors but they may get thin with the Sophomores and Junior class. There is a really good crop of Freshman next year, current 8th graders, coming though. Montgomery had a good run in 6A for the number of kids and talent, they just couldn't hang with the big schools depth. I think they will be able to compete and fit in a lot better at the 5AD2 level.

I tried looking at schools in 5a D2, I have no clue how they are going to put people. Montgomery and Montgomery Lake Creek you would think would go with the Brenham and others, but I think they get pulled into the East Austin district. Looks really difficult to figure out with less teams and spread out.
I think it may look something like this for the Montgomery teams.
Huntsville, Montgomery, A&M Consol, Bryan Rudder, Brenham, Lake Creek, Waco University, Cleveland

Looking at Carl Padilla's numbers I think there is a good shot at both Montgomery schools being 5A DII. Possible district:
Huntsville - 1789
Montgomery - 1751*
A&M Consolidated - 1716
Bryan Rudder - 1663
Cleveland - 1400-1700
Brenham - 1479
Lake Creek - 1288*
Splendora - 1156

Very doubtful New Caney or Porter would be D II.
Porter no but maybe New Caney. Current projected cutoff for DII is 1735. New Caney at 1706.5 as of last cutoff.

Hearing Nacogdoches, Livingston, Cleveland, Splendora and Huffman in the same 5A Div II district.
Montgomery is adding a new high school for the 2018 season. Lake Creek is expected to open as a 5A Div II, Montgomery a 5A Div I. Could end up Livingston, Cleveland, Splendora, Lake Creek, Brenham, New Caney.

Agreed, this matchup will be a better gauge of where Lake Creek is at. LC and New Caney went toe to toe in their scrimmage. I feel like those two teams are evenly matched this year.
