  1. don't know why you call it the snoop dog offense.  We teach the kids very well.  I guess the same offense you teach at the High School is deep snap to #4 to the right and deep snap to #4 to left.  Is that fundamentals>

Sorry about that "Demons". I really did not mean anything by the comment. I am one of those coaches who think that it is very effective and will be tough to defend. You cannot see who's running the ball, and it works for you. I think that's great! You are in the Super Bowl, and that means something. Your kids beat a very good Kountze team that beat us. This will be a good matchup, and I wish you luck. Like you say, fundamentals have nothing to do with who gets the ball. The other kids have to block, and you have to tackle him. If you can stop #4, then we have other options. Like Dragon said, I did what I thought we had to do as a team to beat another one (along with my other coaches) We will teach the kids the same this week. One thing I will guarantee to you, the "Snoop Dogg" comment was heard in the stands, and that's what I thought it was actually called. So, once again... No offense. As a matter of fact, ask Kevin Boykin what kind of man you are dealing with. I coach "Remo" on my select baseball team. So really, don't read too much at all into the comment. Good Luck this Saturday. See you at Nederland High.

  2. Looks the the "Blue" will be playing Lumberton White. We will gear it up for Monday at the Middle School. They run the "Snoop Dogg" offense where everybody squats down. They have gotten better at it since they played the jr. "White" team. First of all, HATS OFF to the Jr. White. I don't get on here and say thyings usually, but what a class act on the other side. I think the coaches knew that it was going to be war, that's why I wouldn't have felt too bad either way. I would have been there next week to cheer on my Jr. White to the super bowl victory. I really don't want my son to grow up too fast, but I can't wait until they have the real silver helmets. Once again, this was a great game. Congratulations on a great season to the Jr. White team. Either way it would have came out, there WILL be great representation from the WOS side of things. KJ, you da man... keep on keepin on son. You have a very bright future!

  3. Hello all! I just wanted to thank everyone for the accolades for me volunteering my time to help kids grow and develop. I hope everyone knows that I am at our practice field for each team there. At anytime, I will help if asked. Here's the whole deal in a nutshell from my perspective. I am coaching for this reason, and this reason only. To teach kids the way to play the game with character, sportsmanship and humility. I have great parents that raised me the right way. I figure it like this, I have a son that I love. I want him to know what it takes to get there. It will then be up to him to make it. I want to see all of our kids strive to be the best. I can put any play in I want, but ultimately... It's the kids that do it all. When they succeed, I am happy only for them. I love to see their faces when they do something positive. Coaching is more fun than you know, especially when they listen and do it the right way. Enough babbling, here's my point... Let's just let the KIDS play. Whoever wins, I will congratulate them. I am one of the biggest Mustang fans their is. Why, because I went through the program. It only matters when you play, it has nothing to do with this forum. Good luck to all of our Mustang teams! As far as the Mustang "Jr. Blue", we will see you on the field...and we will compete...and you will know you just played a football game. Again I say, "Thank you!" Looking forward to the NEXT game we play, signed.... Coach Rod

Oh yeah, thank you to my coaching staff, my team mother, and all of the parents who sacrifice their time, efforts and the supportive nature you give to all of our kids. Thanks for the comments, it means more than you know. And BigD, I appreciate it. You do a great job with those kids. Hats off to you!

  4. Just a message to all people who think they know what Mustang football is all about. If you went through the actual program, then you have sort of idea. If you didn't, then you have your opionion. Of course, you may not be able to play football at all yourself. At least, you have an opinion. You know the saying...

Anyway, this post is the first and last for Mustang11. I just wanted to clear up all of the hoopla around me being some idiot named Mustang85. My name is Roderick Robertson, I wore #11 as a tribute to my idol growing up (ANDRE ROBERTSON) qb for the WO Chiefs in the mid 70's. I have no desire to brag about anything, nor have I EVER bad mouthed a coach from my school. That school started my career, those coaches had part in making my life a blessed success. I have nothing bad to say about anyone. My motto was and still is, if you want to compete- I'll be there. Of course, that motto does not exist for any kind of forum on the internet. If I have something to say about you, it probably won't be bad anyway. I will just distance myself from you and anything that you are about. I am a former professional athlete who's only goal in life now is to raise my son to be the best man that he can be. Not to get on some forum and talk trash. Even when I am umpiring a baseball game, all I do is try to help the kids to make them better.

Mustang Football is only about one thing. If you don't know, then talk trash all you want. The only problem with that is, nobody in the program did what the team did that I was on. We were the first and last team from WO-S to go undefeated in the 5A classification. To me, that's what Mustang Football is all about. "WINNING WITH CLASS"---> Like Coach "T" used to say... "INK STINKS AND GUMS CAN BUMP, DO IT ON THE FIELD UNDER THE LIGHTS ON FRIDAY!"

So in closing, please know that I have no idea who Mustang85 is. So for all of you who thought it was me, that's your problem and you can live with it.  I am blessed with parents that raised me better than to bad mouth people for how they are, or to argue with a person because of who they think they are. I figure it like this, if you have to get your fame from a post on a forum, too bad for you.
