Seems like the issues in Baytown is they can't keep their homegrown talent in place when they make it to high school.  The numbers shown actually resembles BISD,  probably a lot  different demographics.  Numbers seem to be decent in Baytown. My point is, coaches have little big time talent and the numbers they have are probably middle tier football players...  Sterling will have a hard time competing in their district...  Competing with North Shores, Uniteds, West Brooks, and CE Kings, schools with good athletes.  The good talent just isn't at Baytown Lee.  And GCM, I think have had some decent seasons in the past....

I have seen Baytown Lee’s basketball team. They aren’t short of athletes in Baytown, just kids who don’t play football. I’m not saying they’d be great football players but they have athleticism that could potentially help on the field. But sterlings situation does make it hard to compete in their district. It’d take something big for there to be a positive turn.

ok somebody with a little more knowledge than me help an old man out.  with the current standings, hows this district likely to finish ?

    1 woodville

    2 east chambers

    3 buna / hardin / anahuac

    4 buna / hardin / anahuac / orangefield

    7 kirbyville

    8 warren

hardin last 3 games are vs anahuac / at buna and at woodville

buna last 3 games are at east chambers / vs hardin and at kirbyville

anahuac last 3 games are at hardin / vs east chambers / vs orangefield

orangefield last 3 games are at woodville / vs warren and at anahuac

Hardin controls their own destiny.  They have two games they can compete in.  If they beat Anahuac AND Buna, they clinch their spot for sure.  They have a better shot beatin Anahuac than Buna.  But like what was stated before, some teams can definitely throw a kink into the whole picture.

Buna could potentially win all three games left, lose one, two or all three.  Stranger things have happened.

Hardin could win 2 out of 3-

Anahuac could win 2 out of 3

Orangefield could win 2 out of 3.

They have 6 wins, but this is honestly their first quality win. And this comes with an asterisk beside it. It’s obvious OF is not the same team they were 3 weeks ago before losing their QB. Yes, Hardin is headed in the right direction, but I don’t think it’s crazy for people to predict them to lose this game. One guy from Hardin told me Hardin was going to beat EC 3 straight years....starting in 2016...we know how that has gone. Hardin is headed up, just don’t let yalls 6-1 record fool you.

I’m not trying to say that Hardin has gone through the gauntlet and beaten world beaters, and I’m also not the first one to stand up for Hardin but you can’t discredit this win over OF with an asterisk. That’s how the cookie crumbles. It was fortunate for Hardin that they played OF later in the season after things went bad for OF.

As I said they would win...It should have been 30-14 Hardin beat there own self twice in the red zone.  Congrats to the Hornets keep rolling. Hardin will beat  Anahuac next week by 20 and getting the playoffs...

Congrats to Hardin. I think they can beat Anahuac to make playoffs. Wouldn’t say by 20 but I think they will win.

this will probably tell us who’s the 4th seed playoff team.  Anybody see it differently? Curious if Hardin can carry that momentum into OF or if the Bobcats will be too much on the road ? Who will QB for Hardin now I wonder.....

it will be a fight among Orangefield, Hardin, and Anahuac.

Woodville, EC, and Buna top 3.  Whoever wins this has to beat Anahuac too to get 4th.

  6. I think that it’ll be a tough one defensively for Kville. Hardin will formation them to death. Haynes will have something schemed up. I think if Kville doesn’t shoot themslves in the foot they will pull it out. Too many mistakes and Haynes and the hornets will take over.

Also Jack was on the football aspect full time not just 1/2 the time so with that said will it be 6 years since he’s just a 1/2 time football coach

If 7 days a week vare half time to you then we definitely watching 2 different teams. Coach Jones was recruited and signed as a quarterback by UAM where he later played strong safety on the first national quarter finals team in their history. He brought the free safety and Hall of famer Coach Newcomb to Kirbyville to coach football. You obviously are misguided thinking football is secondary to him.

I’m fairly certain he’s talking about the fact that he’s the head coach of two sports, football and baseball. Of course he’s coaching hard now. It’s football season. And during baseball season he will be all out for that season. That’s where 1979HDBobcats is referring to the ADs 1/2 time. Alvarez was a HFC and AD. As was Neece. They weren’t the head coach of another sport.

just because someone plays college ball does not make them a successful head coach. Too many factors play into that especially at a smaller school.

Jack and Neece both had bad years starting out. We’ll see how it all pans out.

Wristbands maybe lol.  Its not very hard concept of keeping your Qb in the middle of the field and getting a play called.

Im going upset here..  Wolves by 3..

I’m with this guy. Wolves play their butts off and sneak away with a win. Last second thriller.

Has anybody considered that Huntington just might be headed in the right direction?

That for the first time in their History they have a coach that really gets it?

That they are putting kids in the right positions to be successful and actually playing real football?

    I really don't know, but it's a thought.

For Huntington they’re doing well. Huntington hasn’t won more than 3 games in a season. Ever. That’s why they’re often discredited. Their district doesn’t help. But for a place like Huntington, it doesn’t get fixed overnight. Who knows, they could be turning it around.
