  4. They may very well 3 peat, it'll just make the already most 'obnoxious' fan base in the district more obnoxious.
  5. Suprised it said he is more of a drop back passer. Maybe in college terms, but in highschool terms, I have seen him run the ball very effectively.
  6. As soon as my account is activated.....i'm on my way
  7. Lumberton will have best defense. Maybe Central....depends on how disciplined they are with the new coach and all. Spreads do not have good defenses generally because they practice against the spread all the time. Plus, if they do go 3 and out, they are off the field much faster than a traditional offense, making the defense more vulnerable. Coaches go to the spread because the ball moves faster than a defense, has nothing to do with not wanting to hit.
  8. Dont know how many times I have to explain this.....it has nothing to do with PNG, except for the fact that aside from LC-M, they were the worst team in the district last year. I build everything around them, because they are the team I see week in and out. Lumberton (your 20-4A co champs) had to struggle to beat PN-G. Central (your other 20-4A co champs), beat PN-G 19-0.....no too dominating. I'm not basing the district on PN-G not doing well, I'm basing the district on the teams that did well, struggle with them. Again, in a good district, the district champions wipe the floor with the likes of PN-G last year.....that didnt happen. We had a very down year IMO, and the champs struggled with us. And again, no, you didnt struggle with us because we were a good team.
  9. If your saying that our district was strong because Central had a descent run in the playoffs, then yes, you are wrong. Having one team go to the quarterfinals does not make our district good last year....sorry.
  10. Look, it's not about hating on them. Usually hated teams are teams that have a traditon of winning. Vidor has nothing to hate on in my eyes right now. It's all about reality. Your team could not make the playoffs last year in a somewhat weakened district with 4 playoff spots. You guys are saying you are proud of your effort last year. That may well be, but that pride will not get you into the playoffs. You have a lot of returning starters from a team that, when you think about it, accomplished nothing. What should lead us to believe that you will make the playoffs this year. I for one, having seen PNG's changes, know that the district is going to be tougher this year. Yes, you may be tougher, bringing back so many, but IMO, with the rise of the district, you will still be the odd man out. Sorry. Again, no hate intended, just reality. Geez, Laying, have you read the blogs during the season the last 2 years or is L-Town an exception to the rule? We've caught heck for winning and yet most people don't figure we had a "tradition of winning". Also, this "weakened district" attitude, is that because PNG lost out last year or would you happen to have an alternate ego by the name of FriendswoodFan? You sound just like him. I don't see the other teams fans saying we had a weakened district so I was just wondering. Sorry for the late response, been out a while. Look, I may be a little biased, so I can see where my comments may frustrate some. But, in the end, I have seen PNG play....they will be good....district championship good. Whether they win it or not remains to be seen. I havent seen anyone (ie Vidor) play yet, so they could prove me wrong. But, they will have to step their game up a lot.....which they do not have a history of. If you ask me, we had a better team than Vidor or Lumberton last year, but could not live up to expectations....coaching etc. And yes, when the 2nd to last place team (PNG), makes the co district champions.....and the Vidor team that "did so well", struggle....IMO, you have a weak district. In a good district, the champions eat the bottom tier teams for dinner that night. That did not happen in 20-4a. And no, I dont believe it was because it was a strong district.
  11. No way, I went to the Lumberton/Nederland game last year.....that was a pretty big stakes game for district there, and I practically got to sit wherever I wanted on the Lumberton side.
  12. Look, it's not about hating on them. Usually hated teams are teams that have a traditon of winning. Vidor has nothing to hate on in my eyes right now. It's all about reality. 13. Look, I'm not taking anything away from them. They will probably be better than a normal Vidor team, and maybe win a few games I didnt think they would, like Lumberton last year. But, in the end, you struggled with a horrible PNG team last year. Dont get me wrong, I think PNG had talent and left a lot on the table, so in some way it was a good showing. However, you have a lot of experience returning from a team that did not make the playoffs in what was considered somewhat a weak district last year. IMO, and seeing PNG this year, the district is going to be a lot more competitive this year. I think Lumberton, Nederland, Central, and PNG will all struggle with each other. However, I dont see these teams having hiccups against LCM, Livingston, and Ozen. I can see all 4 of them going 2-1 against each other, whereas I could see Vidor going 2-2 or 1-3 against them. Sorry, I just think your odd man out. My Picks 1. Lumberton (Co) 2. PNG (Co) 3. Central 4. Nederland 5. Vidor 6. LCM 7. Livingston 8. Ozen
  14. It's a legit pick considering how weak the district was last year. Problem is, I think you have a number of teams this year that will see a marked improvement...ie Nederland, PNG, and Lumberton. And, if Central picks up where they left off, it will make the district even better. The bigger problem is that last year was Vidors time to shine, with the weak district and all, and they couldnt even make the playoffs. When one of the worst teams (PNG) takes the co district champion (Lumberton) into overtime, and the other co champion (Central, who went deep into the playoffs) doesnt just completely dominate one of the worst teams (again PNG), you know your district is having problems. Sorry Vidor, I think your ship sailed off last year and left you little pirates on an abandoned island. Think it is back to I-10, Vidor-0. Pirates remain stranded on abandoned island again this year as the ship does not come back for them. Vidor will remain as is "since 1978".
  15. I always go with the best starting QB. And from what I see at 7 on 7, PNG has by far the best starting qb of Ozen, Central, and PNG. Not sure about LCM, as I have not seen them yet. Also, any secondary is going to be hard pressed to stop Spencer Dereon (maybe misspelled) in the secondary. IMO, he is the best receiver to be at PNG that I can remember watching (and I graduated in 93).
  16. I wouldnt mind to see him go to A&M where he was supposed to be. They could use the help. Hope that is not forgone.
  17. You should have just taken a poll on: Who wears purple, plays cherokee, and has initials for a name?
  18. Any news on this guy. Last I heard he was ineligible for A&M. Thought he went and played at a JUCO. How is he doing, and are there any plans for him to go D1 after JUCO?
  19. I dont know.....my guess is that he finally realized that Orangefield is a lateral or downward move from Kelly.
  20. Hopefully they will both become Aggies. Nothing like watching locals play for the college I root for.
  21. How in the world does Ozen lose just about everything to PNG, aside from basketball, every year to PNG? Including football with pads.
