Yes it will, as well as the rest of the season. Sounds like the new coach has the players on the same page as him unlike last year.

I have heard that the Hardin vs Liberty game is on Friday and not Thursday. Dose anyone know for sure?

First is would like to thank both teams for choosing HORNET STADIUM to play at, it is a nice stadium for a school our size. If parking is set up like they do it for our home games it should be no problem we even have handicap parking on the home side but you might want to call the school to find out if it will be the same.  Hardin played New Waverly in a non district game and lost and we have also played Newton in district games in the past and lost. Not to take anything away form NW I think Newton wins this one , but this is HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL and anything can happen. Good luck to both teams and pray for a INJURY FREE GAME.  Dose anybody know who will be the home team yet?

7th grade Hornets lost

8th grade hornets won

JV hornets lost

Now on to the varsity hope to see big improvements from the Hornets.

5.5 hrs. to kickoff.  No matter who wins lets pray for an injury free game and leave it on the field.

Got to stay true to my colors and go with Hardin. 

The 8th grade game was good, Hardin has a up and coming running back that runs strong and a DE that with a little more coaching could go far.  The 7th grade came out strong and scored on the 1st drive but not sure what happened after that except that the coaches might want to switch kids out more as going both ways at this age might be a little hard.  I know in a small school it is going to happen.  The 7th grade has the talent just think the coaches need to put a spark in them. So on to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS if HARDIN can manage the clock and not exhaust the defence they should do good

Not to take the varsity out of the limelight, but will anyone be going to the 7th, 8th or JV games?  I will be at the 7th and 8th grade games.

If I remember correct, Kountze had a qb that could pass and could run.  Not sure if hes is still there but that's what killed the hornets last year.  Hornets will have to defend the pass as well as keep the qb in check.  Hornets by 7

I know this is not the place for this but I take offence to the Volunteer fireman comment.  If you don't want the backhoe operator fighting the fire the why not you Volunteer since you can do a better Job.  Just blowing steam sorry.

I agree, but if you allow them to play its a chance you have to take.  In my opinion it keeps them involved in something they like and might keep them out of trouble.

Is this just in Newton or at all UIL district games?  All the years we played Newton the Fire Dept. was always there to support the team, I didn't see a problem with it as we had our train horn.  If its a UIL rule they are taking away the fans support the teams.

7th grade tied at 22-22 Hornets stopped 2 pt. conversion with no time on clock

8th grade Hornets won I think 35-6

JV lost not sure of score

Need to say prayers for the Warrior that went to hospital by ambulance last night.  Any update on him would be great.

Going to watch the Jr. High game this evening anyone else going to support these young Hornets?

Hardin will have to come back together as a team to win like they did the first 2 games.  Since the loss at New Waverly they have not been playing on all Four cylinders, but I still got to go with the Hornets.  Just seems to me some of the spark is gone.

Ok Friday is upon us its time for the kids to play hard and leave it on the field.  Good luck to both teams may you both come out injury free, but looking for the Hornets to pull this one out if they can play as a team.

Yes NW did do some passing in fact had a TD on a pass. In my opinion the offence as a whole has improved (blocking is better, qb not only can pass the ball but can scramble or run as well on the other side of the ball d-line is getting in backfield a lot more and line backers are reading plays a lot better.) Seams like the kids are buying into the program as a whole.  I was just pointing out what I thought was a weakness and by know means was I putting anyone down(kids or coaches).  Play your best and then leave it on the field.

Looking for a Win from the Hornets this week, the only two weakness I have seen is poor open field tackles and secondary. Look for it to be a good game.

Like I said before I didn't intend to stir up a hornet nest, I just have never seen that happen on the field in all the years I have been going to Hardins football games and just didn't think it was right.  I was just in shock that it happened and that it almost had another player do it to. 

I didn't start this thread to bash Hardin.  It just looked to me that this 1 kid had quit in middle of game and it rubbed off on the rest of the team and that should not be allowed to happen.  As for as the backup qb and center goes they came out on the right foot and marched down the field and scored in no time. What mfd said in an earlier post said a lot. I also look for the Hornets to improve each week and hope for a playoff run.
