  1. 8) i know its going to be tough to win. of course im a homer and think we can pull off a win. i just dont want to see the stangs get run-ruled.
  2. i did use a wood bat when i was in T-ball, all the kids made fun of me i had an aluminum bat but i got comfortable with the wood bat so i used it all the time. once i got in little league though i change to the aluminum bats like everyone else. ahhh i miss those care-free days of youth. ;D
  3. what time does this game start.
  4. actually wos is #1 in football in the setx triangle, jk ;D. man i wish wos was still in that 4A district.
  5. i think dayton is a perfect fit in the district they are in now. i wish they could have been in that district when wos was still 4A.
  6. it really hurts me to see the stangs lose like this. losing is one thing, but getting run-ruled is not good. but hang in there guys, play hard, play as a team, and remember you have been blessed with the honor of wearing the silver and blue representing wos high school, so be proud of it. Good luck the rest of the season 8)
  7. yikes :-[ man, the stangs have got to cut back on the errors.
  8. Liquid Metal? man i bet that's a fancy bat.
  9. this is a very good topic i wonder if some of the high school baseball coaches on this board have any input on the use of metal bats?
  10. i thought this game was in silsbee?
  11. its amazing how much these bats cost nowadays. my dad bought me a TPX 31 inch, 25 ounce aluminum bat in 1990 and it was $60. the owner of the sporting goods store gave me a free Louisville Slugger wood bat of the same size with my aluminum bat. i remember seeing the price tag on it and it was $18. i wonder how much wood bats cost today?
  12. when i played ball i asked a coach one time how come wood bats were not used as much as metal bats in little league through college? he said a lot of it had to do with the wood bats breaking and causing injury. personally, i dont think metal bats should be banned in high school, but i do think they need to be banned in college.
  13. i agree 100% 8)
  14. no question he is one of the best athletes in the area, and he is definitely a triple sport star. on the football one i'd have to disagree because im a homer ;D earl thomas is one of the best athletes in the area also. you cant take anything away from dishon though, he is without question a tremendous talent and from what i've been hearing an all around good person. LSU was smart to recruit him. 8)
  15. i say keep playing without a shot clock, unless there was major push from schools and coaches that wanted a change. i haven't heard too many schools or coaches complaining about the need for a shot clock.
  16. does anyone know if any other states use shot clocks in high school?
  17. he's an incredible athlete 8)
  18. congrats to kountze on winning the state championship!!! 8)
  19. congrats to Hardin Jefferson on your state title!!! 8)
  20. i have tremendous respect for LaMarque. im sure the new coach will work out fine. i wish them good luck in the up coming season. 8)
  21. ive seen garrett, mills, and rhodes play and they are pretty tough. maybe someone can correct me, but i think calhoun from silsbee is coming back next year. i saw him play 3 times last year and he's a guy you have to watch on every down.
  22. the jasper vs. wos game is always a good one. i would have to agree that jasper is one of wos biggest rivalries. even though we are about 70 miles apart, the intensity is very high when these two teams get together.
  23. what time does this game start?
