A coach owns it in the first year. I usually give first the year a pass. Got to have time to implement the program. Second year should show marked improvement. The third year should be challenging for a District title. But, with that being said, it does take some elite coaches more than three years to have their team in a position to challenge for a State Title.

Ozen's coaches: Arthur Louis, Thomas Brooks, John Clayton, Ishan Rison, Jeff Nelson, Keeth Magee, David Suggs, and Edward Taylor. Central's coaches: Steve Shaver, Marvin Sedberry, Enoch Dixon, Eric Jackson, Donald Stowers, Andrew Washington, Toby Foreman, and Jeff Nelson. BU: Arthur Louis Now you, or any one, tell me which one of these coaches is an elite coach. If you have some names, tell us why you think this is. Steve Shaver did tie once for a State Title. But, never really did anything else.

Combining these two Beaumont schools, you don't think there's enough talent there to at least challenge for a District title?

Absolutely Durly or Hooks could have won with this BU team! In my opinion they could be challenging for a deep playoff run.

That "influx" you attempt to allude to doesn't appear to be a detriment to West Brook!

Of course anything is possible! But, I don't see HJ scoring against WOS' D. I'll say 35-0.

Curious: In this BU situation -- you think the HC is the "fall guy" and nothing more?

Could it be that he was an assistant at one and HC at the other?! Face the fact: Some assistants who are good at at being an assistant do not make good HC's. Again, just a fact!

Do the well coached QB's make constant mistakes? Does the WB QB? Does Todd Dodge's QB? Does the Aledo QB? Does the Carthage QB?

True on the swapping. Everything you have stated, It all begins with the HC!

When BU was formed, an exhaustive search around the state should have been done to find the right HC. I'll defer to the insiders: Was this done?

The OC not the problem. Unless the HC is the OC!

Like I said before, Nederland has the same “handicap!” Not in denial on this! BU had better athletes that overcame your handicap against our handicap!

The “handicap” wasn’t apparent against the previous opponents before WB!
