  1. Good luck to the Trojans and Coach Barbay from Kirbyville!!!!
  2. Don't know much about Athens, but if CS comes with the intensity they brought against my Cats, then Ahtens will be playing BBall next week.  Best of luck to the Trojans and Coach Barbay, a true classy coach.  Was a great coach to my boy back in KV a few years back.
  3. Easy to give up a 20 - 8 lead when you get out coached and out played.  KV got into the rut they seem to always get into  in the 3rd round.  Predictable play calling, and when the run didn't work we kept trying it.  The passing game was wide open, and we just plain got out played.  Congrats to CS and Coach Barbay.  Super job preparing for the Cats.  Good luck the rest of the way.
  4. Well said Kville68.  I good, tough game is what the team needed.  Our district didn't really prepare us to face the teams we will face from here on.  Learn from this and get another W next week.
  5. lets put this one away. Come on defense!!!!!!!!!!  Keep em out of the zone!!!!!!!!!!

  10. At what point should Jasper have called off the dogs?  77 points??  Even KV had enough class to call off the big dogs in the second half!
  11. Kirbyville vs Barbers Hill 2005 at Sam Houston.  KV leads the whole game, BH kicks field goal with 1 min.  KV gets kickoff, runs 3 plays to cover 85 yrds, D. Hazlewood kicks game winning fg as time expires.  Brought tears to my eyes. Also 2007, KV over Silsbee with 2 pt conversion with 7 seconds left.
  12. I think there are only 2 playoff spots in the new D1 and D2 districts.  I could be wrong.  If there are only two spots, then the race is even more interesting.

  14. Quote from: CatFan81 on Today at 10:17:13 AM Funny, I always thought if the ref didn't call it, in HIS opinion, it wasn't an offense.  That being said, I watched the play several times on the dvr, and it didn't look all that obvious to me.  If the refs were calling a tight game, then maybe it gets called.  However, if I remember correctly, the receiver has the right to go for the ball, including through the defender.  But lets get over it.  Everyone keeps sounding like poor losers complaining about one call.  Whose to say that Ford and company doesn't break a long one if the ref makes the call.  Just sayin. Both the receiver and DB have just as much right to the ball as the other.  I think it comes down to who was in better position for the catch.  Was both the receiver and DB looking back?  Did they both use their hands down the field?  Of course we couldn't see it due to the camera man taking a sandwich break during the big play... You are correct.  Both have a right to the ball.  It all depends on who has the better position and who is looking for the ball.  Didn't mean to offend anyone, just get tired of those who only see the bad calls against the team they want to win.

  16. This behavior is unbelievable.  Very simple to fix.  Call the cops, have the nuts arrested, file charges, and after they pay attorney fees, court costs, and the like, ban them from all youth sporting events - forever.  The league is wrong for punishing the kids, just punish the offenders.  Youth sports are a lot like varsity sports - if the officials get a handle on things early, you usually don't see things get out of hand.  There is no excuse for  a league to tolerate such behavior.  The league my boys grew up in had a zero tolerance policy.  And I really enjoyed enforcing it when necessary.  All you need is a president with guts.  Youth leagues should be about teaching fundamentals and molding future good citizens - the winning of games should be secondary.
