  2. I've been to 72 in last five years, and so far this year 7. This doesn't include the 40 or so JV and Freshman games.
  3. Not having seen Nac play, I will bet my odds on a Jasper team that is hungry for a win. Nac had better have a great defense, as Jasper has speed. I'll take the DOGS by 14.
  4. For Kirbyville to even think they will be in the game against WOS they cannot spot them 22 points on turnovers and another 2 td's after terrible 4 and short play calls. If Kirbyville can stop the turnovers and play some solid defense, this game should be close. But even as a lifelong Wildcat fan and supporter, I think this WOS team is better than last year and their coaching is some better than KV.
  5. Depends on which Kville team shows up. If we have the errors we had agains Silsbee it will be over in 5. However, if we show up and play like we did agains Orangefield it could be anyones game.
  6. Remember, this is the same coach who went ballistic when he found out some of his players were getting hitting instructions on thier own time also. High school coaches do not have the right to tell players where they can and cannot go, unless the activity in questions has to do with illegal things such as underage drinking. I agree he can tell his players not to play, as an injury affects the whole team, not just the one player. I know several people who were at this game, and they were not impressed by the actions they witnessed. Again, I also understand that one of the players is not back on the team - seems the parents (you know, the people who have the real authority on where their kids go) were not happy about what happened and do not want their child playing on this team anymore.
  7. This is not the first issue to come up at Kville this year. We have a good coach, but sometimes his temper gets the best of him. Sounds just like me. It does appear after a good nights sleep cooler head prevailed and the issue has been settled. At the time of most of these post and until 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening, the players mentioned still thought they were kicked off the team. I think some of these post were by Kville players who just wanted to bring the issue out in the open. Sometimes that is necessary to get positive results. After all, the coach just has the best interest of the team at heart. I think his main concern for not playing in ragball games during the season is the risk of injury. In the end, it appears that all is well in Kville and the 2 good kids will get to finish out the season. God knows we don't need any more bad breaks up here.
  8. Left fielder for Kirbyville - #7 Adams. has been Kirbyvilles most consistant outfielder this season. Only has 2 miss played balls on the season. Also has done some pitching for them. Very good arm, has thrown out 5 or 6 guys this year, 2 at home, 2 at third and a couple at second. Very solid in left.
  9. Kville hung tought for a few innings, pitcher left in too long. 8-5 HJ when reliever gave up 5 runs in bottom of 6th.
  10. The KV - HJ was a good game. HJ blew us away in the 2nd Quarter. The other three were pretty decent. KV played 3 quarters of the best play I have seen from them this year. Too bad we let the 2nd quarter get out of hand. We were down by 1 at the end of the first, but down by 20 or so at the half. Ended up losing by 28.
  11. Stat wise KV matches up fairly even with Caldwell or Columbus, except for total TD's, with KV at 61; Cald @ 44; and Col @ 41. Should be a great 2nd round game, providing of course that KV takes care of business on Saturday. Alway dangerous to play a team that you have already beaten.
  12. No trouble with the authorities. The 1/2 games suspension was handed down by the coach - not the school. School punishment had already been served. A whole lot of to-do about nothing. PR seemed to play alright agains WOS, leading rusher in the game, with all of the off field distractions. KV will be okay, but the defense had better start showing up!
  13. 2nd week in a row the Wildcats seemed unprepared to play. Don't know where to put the blame. Orangefield seemed to have KV defense allnight. Great game OF. I hope my Wildcats can re-group to the level they were at when they played Carthage
  14. Look for the Cat's to light it up BIG!! Cats by a bunch
  15. I would love to see Kirbyville step up the level of competion in the pre-district games. Carthage is a good game, but Cleveland and Liberty do not help us prepare for the like of WOS, SI, JA, and usually BC. Every team in 21-3A is tough year in and year out. I think we should move up and play or at least scrimmage 4A teams. It would help our kids get ready for district. That was never more evident than our game against WOS. They were totally prepared, and KV seemed to have lots of confusion on the field and off.
  16. As a fan, Kirbyville @ Kountze, 1982. kirbyville fumbles late 4th quarter, Kountze kicks field goal, wins 3-0. Broke some sort of losing streak (56 or so games I think).
  17. My great-nephew was injured in a Pee Wee Game in Woodville today. He is being lifeflighted to UTMB Galveston with undetermined neck injury. He has movement in his arms but no feeling at this time in his legs. Please pray for him and his family. They are from Port Neches-Groves.
