    Sounds Good. Thanks!
  2. The United States definately could make it deep but they are going to have to play better in order to do so. Their offense is making opportunities, they just need to capitalize on some of them. As for the defense, im not sure what they are doing. They havent looked good defensively except for maybe the England game.

Also Japan didnt look too bad today either. That Honda guy had a pretty good game!
  3. Italy was eliminated today by Slovakia 3-2. The first half was kind of boring and Italy wasnt putting forward much effort, but the second half was different. I believe had Italy played the way they did toward the end of the game for the entire game, they would of won it and would still be in the running to repeat.
  4. Ghana goes down 1-0 to Australia then an Australian player gets a red card for a hand ball inside the penalty box and Australia now has 10 players on the field for the second consecutive game. Following the red card Ghana gets a penalty kick and makes it. The game finishes in a 1-1 tie. Ghana should have taken better advantage of being one guy up.
  5. The ref's did a top notch job today and should be proud of themselves  :-[  But on a serious note, the US did alot better in the second half and need to do the same nxt wednesday vs algeria. Defensively they dont look sharp and hopefully they will get it figured out by then. Question...Now the United States needs to win and in doing so score more than England does if they are to win also to advance right?
  6. JOHANNESBURG -- Police say a South African man who wanted to watch a World Cup match instead of a religious program was beaten to death by his family in the northeastern part of the country.

David Makoeya, a 61-year-old man from the small village of Makweya, Limpopo province, fought with his wife and two children for the remote control on Sunday because he wanted to watch Germany play Australia in the World Cup. The others, however, wanted to watch a gospel show.

"He said, 'No, I want to watch soccer,'" police spokesman Mothemane Malefo said Thursday. "That is when the argument came about.

"In that argument, they started assaulting him."

Malefo said Makoeya got up to change the channel by hand after being refused the remote control and was attacked by his 68-year-old wife Francina and two children, 36-year-old son Collin and 23-year-old daughter Lebogang.

Malefo said he was not sure what the family used to kill Makoeya.

"It appears they banged his head against the wall," Malefo said. "They phoned the police only after he was badly injured, but by the time the police arrived the man was already dead."

All three were arrested Sunday night, but Lebogang was released on $200 bail Tuesday, Malefo said. The other two are still being held in custody.

Malefo said the mother and son will reappear in the local Seshego Magistrates Court on July 27.

"He was always a happy man, never violent," Makoeya's nieces, Miriam and Anna, told the Daily Sun newspaper. "On Saturday, we saw him the last time at a funeral."

The World Cup, being played in Africa for the first time, started Friday and runs through July 11.

Do note we are very, very early yet. I am willing to bet the scoring will heat up in the days to come.

Earlier today i was thinking about the original post that you put (which states what you have above) and i got to give it to you! You Called It! I was thinking that the goals would stay low and that we would see alot of good defensive play.
