Lovejoy is its own ISD and has been since July 2, 1917. Lovejoy isn't part of Allen and is a more affluent district. Lovejoy use to pay Allen ISD to send Lovejoy kids through 6-12. In 03-04 Allen voted to not renew the contract and at the same time Lovejoy voted to create their own secondary system and build schools. Lovejoy was never part of Allen's long term plans.
