  1. I know all the EC fans are gonna say, "EC was looking past Hardin to Anahuac", when in reality Hardin played their butts off. They hit like crazy on defense and Villamez was a dominating force, which also means the offensive line played a heck of a game. Now, the trash talking from Hardin can begin. Since 7 on 7 started last school year EC has talked about how they would kill Hardin this year, well it looks like it's Hardin's turn to do a little mouthing and they can back it up. Congrats Hornets!!!! By the way, where is all the EC posters at who normally jump all over these treads, are they still in the bleachers?

Villemez is greaT BUT WHO WOULDN'T, RUNNING BEHIND STELLY
  2. It should be a good game all in all the Hornets should come out on top i look for them to be at least 20 or more. If Hunter Davis comes back from knee injury from the HJ scrimmage it should be an ole time good rivaly barn burner. Hornets have won last 3 years they played HD should be able to add 1 more to that.

Enough weapons he probably won't have to even play.
  3. Who is EC anyway? I have chills.

    November 9, 2007 EC 57- Hardin 29, subs played 4th quarter....Refresh your memory?

You may have your boy Thomas this year but the Dickey can go and will be a d-1 prospect. Playing in a four-a school then facing EC is a smaller task. Hang loose there Buc Fan you may be in for a rude awakening.

The Dickey kid is good but better watch the Stelly kid this year he is huge and fast heading to the state powerlifting meet with a first at regionals, this team is stacked with skill players
  4. ok highsky sep you are so smart and you think hardin will win just because they have more total yards than buna does. Then how bout you go look at EC total yards and see yall have more yards than them an so does buna so does that mean that both of those teams are going to beat EC. Cause how it sounds in your last post the person with the most yards will win.

    WELL ACCORDING TO HOUSON CHRONICLE

Jordan Nolan leader in 2a passing, John Stelly second in 2a rushing, Daniel MArsh leader in passing with 2 other recievers in top 5 looks to be a pretty potent offense.

  5. From East Chambers web-site.

Defensive Player of the Game - Tramain Thomas - He did an excellent job of getting us lined up properly and making plays all over the field.  His stat sheet is as follows - 8 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 1 Tackle for Loss; 2 Interceptions; 1 Pass Defensed.

Paul Trammel made his first appearance this year on defense and had an outstanding game also.  It is great to have him back in the middle; it will really help our defensive unit.  His stats were as follows - 5 solo tackles; 6 assisted tackles; 3 Tackles for Loss; 1 Sack."

Stelly has 15 tackles 1 sack 5 tacles for loss held warriors to total 145 yards offense only 45 yards rushing
  6. Stelly gained over a hundred yards on a pretty good run defense. He is a good player. The hornets made great adjustments and took what the defense gave them. The difference in the ball game was halftime adjustments Hardin made them Warren didn't.Depending on what the defense keys on Hardin has several players that can beat you.

I agree Hardin has many weapons and they know how to use them.
  7. New set of predictions after district starts

Gabriel Pruett  All had Hardin Hornets at the bottom of district. What a difference a Coaching staff makes.  ( Who would have none)

    The Orange Leader

Boy what little us “experts†really know when it comes time to make predictions in high school football before the season starts.

It is like the AP voting on college football in July.

In our annual football section, I calmly predicted Dayton to win District 22-4A with Central in second and Little Cypress-Mauriceville in third.

Nederland was fourth, Port Neches-Groves was fifth, Lumberton was sixth, Ozen was seventh and Vidor was eighth.

A week into the District 22-4A race and I like many others am scratching my head.

I talked to Tom Halliburton of the Port Arthur News a day after making those predictions and told him the only thing I was scared of was putting Lumberton into the playoffs.

I wanted to do it, and in fact so did he, but how can you slap a team into the playoffs that has never seen the postseason in school history?

So go figure Lumberton beats Dayton, 8-7, in the first game of district in the last seconds of the game.

Dayton has been without quarterback Cody Green and lost a game in my eyes they really could not afford to lose.

The Broncos still have to play Central and Nederland. Lose both of those games and Dayton would have three district losses.

Nederland is 4-0 and is set for a showdown this Friday against Central, who defeated LC-M this past week.

The winner between the Bulldogs and Jaguars really has to be considered the front-runner in the district with the Raiders a very close second.

LC-M has work to do and will look to rebound on the road against PN-G, a team they shutout 42-0 a year ago.

The Bears need a statement win this year and beating the Indians two straight years could get LC-M back on the right path.

After seeing a week’s worth of District 22-4A games, here are my new predictions:

    1. Nederland ... They just look good these days with sophomore quarterback Kirby Bellow.

    2. Central ... I said it before and I’ll say it again — speed really does kill in football and this team is fast.

    3. Lumberton ... There I put the Raiders in the playoffs for the first time in history, now I hope they make me look smart.

    4. Dayton ... The loss to Lumberton hurt and they still have Nederland, Central and PN-G to go.

    5. PN-G ... It was a nice win against Ozen, now they still have to beat a couple of the top teams.

    6. LC-M ... The Central loss hurt so the Bears must find a way to beat PN-G and have a few upsets along the way.

    7. Vidor ... This team is better than what people think and Vidor is such a hard place to play, unless you are the Pirates.

    8. Ozen ... New coach will only have the Panthers get better as the season moves along.

In District 21-3A there is not as much shake up as there is in District 22-4A.

Orange Leader Sports Editor Van Wade made the predictions in 21-3A earlier this year.

He had the top three teams as West Orange-Stark, Silsbee and Jasper.

Kirbyville was fourth, Orangefield was fifth, Bridge City was sixth, Hardin-Jefferson was seventh and Hamshire-Fannett was in the rear.

Here is my take now on District 21-3A:

    1. WO-S ... Still the team to beat until someone proves everyone wrong. Kirbyville gets a shot Friday.

    2. Kirbyville ... The Wildcats will not beat the Mustangs but should be able to beat everyone else in district.

    3. Silsbee ... The Tigers thumped Orangefield last week and I only see them losing to Kirbyville and WO-S.

    4. Jasper ... The Bulldogs are close to being back under Thomas Brooks but beating the top teams will be too tough a task.

    5. Hamshire-Fannett ... The Longhorns are no push over this year and gave the Mustangs all they could handle in the first half last week.

    6. Hardin-Jefferson ... To keep away from the bottom, the H-J beat Bridge City last week in a thriller.

    7. Bridge City ... I hate to put the Cardinals here but Bridge City is so young and Cris Stump and Co. are a year away from making noise.

    8. Orangefield ... The injury to Ryan Granger did not help a bit but the Bobcats will fight tooth-and-nail with everyone listed above.

  8. best back?I agree Stelly is more of a power back and Tramain is a great finesse back.

These are the ones I have seen....

best QB - Jordan Nolan, Hardin

best finesse RB - Tramain Thomas, EC

best old school, between tackles RB - John Stelly, Hardin

That is just for 24-2a because I confess I haven't seen anything else but that district.

Now, the best back in HS now, even though he is injured, is McGuffie of Cyfair.  I have seen him play and he is the real deal.  Although, I think he will change his mind about Michigan and go to a Texas school.  I, for one, hopes he stays instate.

  9. Well I don't know about this last post.   Sounds kind of weird coming from someone who plays for them.  All I have to say is if it works don't break it.  Keep throwing it and if the right person keeps catching it then more power to you.

Say...sum_body, what would your coach say about your posting this?

Stats don't lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,  Neither does the win loss bracket
  10. My Predictions:You are clueless.(Don't be a coward let us know who you are.

    Warren-70

    Hardin-3

the Hardin Hornets are nothing but a mediocre team. all they do is throw the ball in the air that can bring rain & just hope to god that they can catch it. believe me...i play for them!
