    I can't believe I just read 12 pages of this. 

    This is my take:

    It is all about declining numbers in attendance.  WOS just doesn't have enough students that want to be involved in extracurricular to fulfill all of the sports and other activities. 

    Blame Dan Hooks?  Are you serious?  That is the dumbest thing that has been said.  He has alot of "power" at WOS, but at the end of the day it is up to the students and most importantly THEIR PARENTS.

    WOS might emphasize football, but what school that competes the way the we do doesn't.  I think that they girls are abandonding their team, but they are also committed to other groups.  Groups that they take pride in and have worked hard to be a contributing member of.  These young ladies take enough pride in their school to be part of different activies and unfortunately someone has to suffer. 

    Let's be real honest.  Girls athletics don't matter as much as boys' sports. (By that I mean, people coming to watch that aren't related or media coverage and talk in the community)  I'm not being sexist, it just the truth.  Sad but true.  The only time it gets the press or people talking about them is when they do something special.  Nobody cared about WOS softball until Ragsdale put together some winning teams and were taking them to the playoffs for the first time.  I actually went to a baseball game that was being played after the softball game and the stands were packed.  I was shocked, because that doesn't happen.  A few years ago when the Trahan girl was taking LCM to State, that was the big talk in the papers and around town.  Other than that you don't really hear too much about girls sports.  It has to be a milestone that is being achieved.

    WosGrad and Gasilla, nice post as usual.

    The one thing that WosGrad typed that I did not agree with is the was the AggiesAreWe isn't a WOS hater.  This was Christmas come early to him.  His hatred has made him famous.  Congrats buddy, you are a message board Rock Star.  He doesn't respect the program or Dan Hooks.  He is envious.  Its rather close in comparison, but it is definitely envy.  I'm sure he does root for the Mustangs because he is a football fan and needs something to do in November and December when his school is no longer playing.  Its just like Cowboys fans, just because the Cowboys are not in the playoffs you still watch.  You find a team, maybe the same division or conference and you run with them just like they are your own.  But you aren't really a fan.  You are just bored and next year when the slate is clean, you go back to your Cowboys and you start complaining about the team you followed in the playoffs.  That is what he does.  He says he just does it to get at the "homers" or to get COOP all excited.  We aren't buying it.  He's just a joke.  Mustang fans are used to it.  We've been  hated on for years.  And by hated, I mean envied.

    My favorite part of reading all of these pages was when COOP told AggiesAreWe "I know more than you think!"

    Better was AAW telling Coop "I think more than you know"

    They can't see you fail huh, Lazeek? How? Who are you? Anybody KNOW you? nope. How is stating the fact that BH can't play with Yates and several other Houston area teams being full of MYSELF? Are you retarded? What does that have to do with me, talking about YATES HS? Please enlighten me.

    This little put down phrase (that you use quite often) is very offensive to some people.

    I'm surprised that a successful teacher/coach uses that type of language at all - (especially on a public forum). Maybe its just me.  :-\

    Their not excuses, It was things that happened. Take away the dumb snaps over the head etc it's a different game.

    Coop, What people are saying is good teams don't keep doing this and great teams overcome them.

    Players also:

    Blow assignments

    Miss tackles

    Miss extra points

    Miss field goals

    Miss blocks

    Grab face masks

    Run the wrong route

    Slip when the field is wet

    Get out jumped

    Get out run

    Daydream about their girl friend and don't play well

    Get injured

    Make bad grades and are not eligible

    Haven't learned the plays and have to be told in the huddle what to do

    Bite on the fake and are fooled

    Fumble the ball

    Throw an interception

    Drop a pass (even when wide open)

    etc

    etc

    All these things HAPPEN. It is part of the game and determines who wins and loses to a large extent.

    All teams have these happen and it kinda sorta sounds like EXCUSES if these are the reasons for a loss and the opponents lack of these "happenings" causes the opponents to win. Slack off the excuses (happenings) and give a pat on the back to your opponent and you come will come across as a sportsmen.

    Man, talk about fair weather fans. WO-S is 3-1 an some people are down on them. They play a  tough

    schedule to get play-off ready and lose one game and the world is coming to an end. I remember one year

    when Jasper beat WO-S in pre- district. Then, in the play-offs WO-S beat Jasper. Newton almost lost

    last night, they probably should have,we were lucky. Anyway, the sky isn't falling and the world hasn't ended.

    Just my thoughts about good programs.

    People aren't down on WOS for losing...

    there is another thread that has like 15 (exaggeration if you didn't know) pages of coop, skipper, and several others trying to make excuses for why they lost...

    and thats what people are down about

    WASN"T excuses!! it actually happened.

    well lets put it this way....

    you're complaining about the way FOOTBALL is played...

    penalties and execution is part of the game we call... FOOTBALL

    and you report about this stuff but yet you complain about how it's played....

    go figure.

    if your football team loses a game and you go back and find every little thing that WOS did wrong to make up for the loss then it is called an excuse!

    and didn't someone have the stats of the game?

    Jasper had more penalties and had more fumbles and they won the game...

    hmm....

    That sums up my feelings for sure..It seems the homer has "blue and silver colored glasses"

    Also JACK IN THE BOX TACOS are the greatest about once a year.. ;D

    im curious, which local team do you support?

    HF and Nederland are my local schools because where my kids went to school. Both those schools are having down years but it is early and you never know when district gets going. I always root for any local team in playoffs though.

    I hate to break up the love fest, but this is a prediction forum rght?  I predict the MUSTANGS by 21.

    2 predictions for yall:

    I'll go with that prediction Friends by 21. Afterall, I hear the CO Wilson quarterback is getting reps with the high school varsity.

    IF the Dogs prevail I predict the Fan does his/her usual disappearing act.  ;D

    Good luck to both teams and LEAVE BRITNEY OUR QUARTERBACK ALONE.  :P

    I think sushi is overrated !!! I tried it but didn't like it much. My kids think its the greatest thing since sliced bread !  Me, Naw I don't like it. It's way to overrated !

    Now if you want to talk steak then I'm game. Heck even BBQ Ribs slow cooked all day long in a pit ! Now thats not overrated !!!

    It seems every year that either -

    1.WOS is going to win state and come the second or third playoff game its all over, OR

    2. They are very young starting 10 freshmen or so but the future is BRIGHT.

    Of course there are more over rated teams also.
