  1. A GREAT turnaround from last year to this year! Congrats on a GREAT season! I hope my Cardinals are taking notes........... ;D
  2. Congrats WOS! Another (previuosly) undefeated next week? ;D
  3. Congrats to Lauren Deaver - A great kid who would be an asset to ANY team on ANY field or court!
  4. Am I incorrect, or didn't BC have at least one male and at least one female go to regionals in Cross-Country? And maybe even on to State? Add those to the list...........
  5. Grasping at straws here, bud? Nothing cowardly about the post! I was out of pocket, and did not get to find out who finished where at the tournament until 10 minutes before the original post. And even at that, I got it from the UIL web site, not your "report" on how "your team" finished lol . And what does "work" have to do with this post, or any other? My little "missive" was posted when I got home and checked the web - DUH - The time of day had nothing to do with it! And I have NO jealousy of your arrogance, either, as if I had NOt already made that clear enough! And am I supposed to remind you of how or VOLLEYBALL team did (Regional semi-final), or is that another immature "dig" aimed at our football team? VERY CLASSY, either way! Paraphrasing a well-known coach - When you get there, act like you've been there before! Let me repeat what I stated in the first post - I detest arrogance, even if you CAN back it up! And once again, Congrats to your PLAYERS on their accomplishments this season.
  6. I have a hard time dealing with arrogance, even when you can back it up, but ............... Congrats on making it to the Finals, and ending up in 2nd place, which is, after all, the [move]1ST LOSER ! [/move] (NO disrect towards your players)
  7. Oh yeah - I remember the 5 day rule now..... Didn't we (21AAA) have to get clearance from the UIL to finish up our schedule after Rita, playing out the games the way we did?
  8. OK - I apologize......... 58 replies, and 1136 views. I just wanted to see if I could get it to 1200 before 9:00 am ... ...
  9. You should KNOW better! Do you think I would expect WO-S to pack it up and go home if the roles were reversed and BC was favored over WO-S by as much as they wanted? OF COURSE NOT! (And don't start the "THAT will NEVER happen" stuff, because that is NOT the point!) The point is - You will win, and we all know it, but BC WILL show up, and stay on the field for 4 quarters, regardless of the score, and (I hope) try to compete!
  10. A big [move]THANK YOU[/move] to the school administrators who "made" the Spirit Bus happen! It was GREAT to have the stands FULL of yelling and screaming fans! It was VERY appreciated by this fan ! ! !
  11. While 0-fer is not good at all, in any shape or form, it's HOW they got 0-fer that is disappointing to me. The Offense was able to score more than I expected, and contrary to popular (Coach Tarver's) belief (mainly), BC CAN have a passing game, with kids who CAN actually catch a pass! I look for the Offense to take off next year with the experience we gained from this year, and the addition of some MORE young players getting moved up! The bad part was the lack of execution by the Defense, and I point out no one player or position or coach or coordinator with the comment. Just in general, we didn't tackle (well), we didn't read (well), and didn't improve over time. I suppose the lack of improvement and execution was due to the "revolving door" starting line-up, caused by injury - That hurt us bad, and I just hope the lack of defensive experience DOES NOT carry over to next year! And for anyone who starts to think I'm bashing the players - I'M NOT! I will be there, in the stands, until the END of the WO-S game, regardless of the score! I will support these kids and their effort to the very end!
  12. The best way for WO-S to keep the score at hand is to let BC have a few time-consuming drives, and I don't mean neccesarily let them score points.
  13. Thanks to the UIL's infinite wisdom, District 5 consists of Borger, Canyon, Dalhart, and Perryton. Win ONE GAME in District and you're in! >
  14. Good point, and very true. We will be young again next year, but the talent pool will get deeper. I still maintain that injuries have killed us this year. When the players are young and inexperienced with a shallow talent pool, and then you have a lot of players injured who have to miss games and practices and get even FARTHER behind on experience, it hurts - BAD. Plus, when the players who have to fill in for the injured are lacking skill and talent and desire to begin with (or they would have been playing already), it just compounds the situation. I believe that is the big reason we saw the improvement in Orangefield week to week, while BC has remained steadily dismal, with NO perceivable improvement.
  15. In ALL truthfulness..... I EXPECT us to be a .500+ team next year. That doesn't mean it will happen, but I think the pieces will fall in place next year for BC to be competitive again. Look at the turnaround Jasper has made, comparing this year and least year...............
  16. I expect WO-S to score at will, and then some. Putting the tackle at RB will only make the plays last longer, but the score will be unchanged........ I HOPE our kids keep playing with heart, and DON'T GIVE UP!
  17. I had heard Klein Oaks, but that they were looking for something more on THIS side of Houston, as Klein Oaks was about 75 miles in Bellville's favor.........
  18. BC gets their 1st "W" when they take out the 'Horns who are looking forward to next week and worrying about K-ville and their play-off hopes. Next week, the 'Horns get mad and knock off the always emotional K-ville while they are down in the dumps after their loss to Silsbee this week............
  19. In addition to the above......... BC's Class of '07 was about 160. BC's Class of '10 (Soph's) is about 260. (I had a kid graduate in '07, and have a kid in '10) With '07 gone, they will show an increase, as it was always a small class in numbers which tended to pull the total down a little. FYI - '06 was bout 220, as I recall.
  20. I have never hidden the fact that I live in BC, and I will support them 'til the end, regardless of the sport, or the score, or the team record. Some of us on here try to post with at least a little class, and ask for nothing except a little respect - TRY to make that distinction when reading posts. : K-ville et al scored late in the game with subs because BC couldn't stop the 3rd string any better than the first string. K-ville's O and D had about 3 starters on the field for most of the 4th. So I don't balme anyone in this matter. The kids are trying, to the best of their ability (and while lacking ability, that is really the point anyway). Part of what I hope these kids are learning is - Go out and do your best, win or lose, and don't QUIT. If they TRULY learn to do that, and can carry that lesson for the rest of their lives, then the score is meaningless - We've taught kids a very valuable lesson in not giving up and fighting for what you believe in............ And we ARE trying to teach kids lessons for life, right?
  21. I've seen both teams, or at least their backs lol , and Silsbee takes this one by 14 to 21. K-ville "D" just won't be able to stop them - I'm not sure they will even slow them down (no disrespect intended - just an opinion).
  22. I beg to differ. Whether it was a good match or not, an adult, who has been hired and gets paid to lead, teach, and direct our youth, who sets as bad an example as has been portrayed on here, SHOULD be called out. I work with kids every week in athletics for FREE, and one thing I NEVER forget is that I have an influence on them, and I hope and pray when they mature and have their own children, they will remember some of the lessons I tried to teach them and the example I tried to set for them! I AM NOT perfect, by any means, but to let a behaviour like this go, and explain it away as competitiveness, is inexcuseable, in my opinion. When you deal with kids, it's MORE THAN GAME!
  23. In my opinion, this would be as easy of a fit as the HF / EC merger. The 2 districts are relatively small in square miles, and since they border already, transportation wouldn't be as big an issue as it is for LC-M right now getting Mauriceville kids hauled around. The really young (elementary age) kids already play against each other in some sports (football mainly), and with each other in other sports (baseball and softball) - Heck - I know about as many kids in the class of '10 from OF as I do from BC! And both schools ALREADY have very academics - A combination could only offer more for them to grow with. And I had Red and Orange softball jerseys a few years back for a league-ball team - THEY LOOKED PRETTY GOOD TOGETHER! Just an idea.................. :-\
  24. 48 ppg = TRUE GIVING UP = FALSE ! I've accepted 0-10, as a lot of fans have, I believe. But I don't think these kids have ever GIVEN UP !
  25. DUDE - This is WAY cool! I LOVE the statistical or mathematical rankings because it takes the human element out of the equation - Like picking WO-S to win every game just because your zip code is or was 77630 . Instead, you can NOW pick WO-S because the numbers SAY to pick WO-S, and with the proof supplied by the past results, you've proven the math works! Keep it up! and THANKS! (and I only use WO-S as an example - I'm a Bridge City Cardinal fan - since WO-S is in the #1 slot..........)
