  1. Ready for this game tonight!  Two teams with great fan bases.  Lamar will be rocking tonight and you'll hear "Cherokee" early and often!  Prediction:  Game will be tight in the first half.  Indians take control in the second half and win by double digits(that could be 10 or 21)  SCALP'EM

  2. PAM appears to have the weapons to walk through this district but really, WHO HAVE THEY PLAYED YET???  The two Beaumont schools (both are dumpster fires).  When their Head Coach is quoted in the PA News that Ozen disrespected them by making them their Homecoming game, I just totally lost what little respect I had for their coach.  I can hear him talking to his players "Now guys, we need to teach them a lesson for choosing us as their Homecoming game!  Nobody does that two the Mighty Titans!!"  What a load of crap!!  I never pull for Nederland to win anything so you can figure I bleed purple, but come Friday I'll be pulling for the dogs to THUMP the titans!  So Nederland, please properly welcome the titans to District 22-5A!!!

I wonder who the titans Homecoming game is and did Coach H have a say so as to who it was. WOW.  Just WOW!

  3. I understand both sides of the discussion.  The Mid County schools are "expected" to compete for a district title each year and that drives the players!  Teams like Vidor and Lumberton, who both should have solid teams this year, don't have that expectation in their programs.  I'm not saying they'll never get there, but they're not there now.  Here's my predictions:

    1) PNG  Pitching, pitching and more pitching.  Did I mention they have pitching

    2) LC-M

    3) Vidor

    4) Lumberton

Sorry Ned, you guys are gonna struggle this year.

  4. thedogs1987, I'm not seeing the argument that our defense is our weak link.  Silsbee averaged 2.8 yds per carry and the receivers averaged just under 5 yds per catch.  We gave theme excellent field position on their first two scores ( starting at our 10yd line and at our 25 yd line).  The only sustainable drive they had all night was the last one when our defense's tongues were hanging out for being on the field almost the entire second half. I'm looking forward to a really good game against two top notch defenses.
  5. Finally getting a chance to read through some of your thoughts on the game and as I'm reading I find some jerk that uses a screen name "pngdad12".  Don't try to impersonate someone else on this forum or any other forum.  You're just trying to start trouble, whoever you are.  I can definitely tell you and all the forum who you're not; you're not anyone remotely close to the sophomore or his family (especially his Dad).  This family came to PNG and has been welcomed with open arms.  So don't come on this website talking smack while intentionally impersonating someone else.  "Come on Man!!!"

I agree with ya...this Soph team has a lot of depth at pitching and some of the regular starters are not seeing much action with the pitching??

    Ned has a #1 and #2.
There are no "regular" starters.  You earn what you get in Ned.  The best player will be on the mound for Ned.

Looking ahead, for this group, there is 1, 2 and maybe a third.  These players have to have the potential to develop and strengthen into a Varsity pitchers.  Just because you pitched when you were 13 doesn't put you on the mound in hs.
If you want little Johnny to play, go to Png.  However, yours might not be the one they want.

I know that they would love to have our Big Gun on the mound playing for them.  Their group at this level is pitching poor.

Look at the Varsity and tell me what you see.  Some parents belly ached for their kids to pitch earlier in hs and now the are not even on the field anywhere at the Varsity level.

Little league is over,it's time to put it on the field.

    Go Dogs ;)

I've watched alot of sophomore baseball this season and haven't seen any dominating performances by any pitchers.  Heck, we've played ned several times.  Who's this so called "Big Gun" you're referring to?  You are right about one thing, our NDN sophomore team has a shallow pitching pool.  But that's fine, 2 of our freshmen pitchers are playing at the upper levels and we're loaded with sophomore pitchers at the varsity level.
