Checking in guys.  Sounds like a good one.

Shot a good 5 pt cull in Rocksprings over the weekend.  Big mature deer but that's all he was going to be.  The wind had them very nervous.  Out of the 8 man group there was a main frame 10 that had 14 scorable pts but not alot of mass, 28" Axis, 2 - 5 pt culls, 2 spikes, 3 does and a fox. Now I am waiting for January to get here so I can head to Bandera. BTW, does anyone know of a good taxidermist that does Euro mounts and isn't outrageous on price?  I've asked around a little but $125-$150 is a little steep for a Euro IMO.  Someone in the GT preferrably.

I haven't killed anything yet.  I got busted by a doe 2 weeks ago bow hunting.  I'll be headed to Rocksprings a week from today for an Axis/Whitetail hunt which to say the least I am very pumped about it.

Shelby Shaw - Kirbyville in the mid late 80's had one heck of an arm.  Still had it in his 30's.  Could throw 50 yards on a rope like most throw 15-20 no kidding (in his 30's).  Also pitched at McNeese and made AA for the Rangers.

Cool front coming in tomorrow!  Temps look good for the weekend and new moon was last night.  Can't wait but will have to wait until Saturday evening due to a youth soccer game for my little one.  That's what vacation on Monday is for! ;)

[/quote] I would say its a combo of both.  They lost some big role players to graduation (Ford, Cucancic, Breed, Keene, etc) and transfer in Vanya.  Alvarez leaving did hurt but I truely believe that Neece is a good coach and will get things back on track.  He has a proven background and can be hard nosed....i.e. the running during the Newton game.  He won't put up with BS.  It all just happened at once which isn't an abnormality in small schools when a good coach leaves the same year that graduation hits them hard.  There is still talent there it will just take time to work itself out.  ALOT of young kids had to step up unexpectedily this year and they are in a baptisim by fire stage.
